I broke the number one rule to a long-lasting friendship. I fell for my best friend. My sexy, tattooed best friend—a former rock star god turned music exec and billionaire—has me locked in the friend zone. I’m just a sidekick to him, but I crave so much more.I want to be the one Rod looks at with lust in his eyes. The thought consumes me, but I suppress it.My conflicting feelings for my best … conflicting feelings for my best friend could jeopardize a decade-long friendship. I can’t risk it.
USA Today Bestselling Author Scarlett Avery brings you a breathtaking friends to lovers, billionaire romance so deep, so gripping, so engulfing, you’ll need days to recover.

Admittedly, friends to lovers has always been one of my favorite tropes. I love the emotion and angst when a character realizes that he desires what has been right in front of him for years. Scarlett Avery was able to create this moment (and others) flawlessly. The book was made so much better by having characters that I loved. Rod was loyal, protective and an Alpha. Dom was brave, resilient and strong. These two were perfect for each other from the very start of their journey.
This book is a bit darker than the author’s other stories. It touches on a delicate issue that was artfully written. Dom’s actions are driven by this topic, but it didn’t define who she was and her life. It was an important story to tell, and I loved how it was written and unfolded. Scarlett Avery definitely has a talent for storytelling that will leave you wanting more.
I would be remiss if I failed to mention the steamy scenes. No one can write them quite like Scarlett Avery. You get the raw emotions and so much more. I love that you can feel the intensity, passion and sensations of the characters in these moments. Steamy scenes are easy to find in books, but she makes you feel the desire, hunger, lust, etc. These scenes are pure magic!
Friends to lovers + Great characters + A fantastic story line + The steamy scenes we love = Another incredible read from Scarlett Avery!
Loved this story! It was a very Unique love story.
They had been friends since Dom was 13 or 14 years old. That’s all I can say about this because you really need to read this story! Hot, Steamy scenes with a lot of emotions come into play. The HEA is sooo awesome

Scarlett Avery never ceases to amaze me. To the best of my knowledge, I have read all of her books. And I will continue to read them, for her style of writing catches and holds my attention, and makes me want to know what happens next.
Torrid Love, is a true friends to lovers romance.
Roderick “Rod” and Dominika ” Dom, ” are best friends. Practically joined at the hip. They have been friends since Rod stood up to some bullies on Dom’s behalf. Later, Rod saves her from another bully, a monster in fact.
Over the course of life, Rod and Dom’s feelings of friendship, has morphed into more. Finally, their blinders have come off, and they see each other, the one they truly love.
It’s never good to keep secrets. They could, or your mind can convince you that it will ruin everything. But Dom is scared, so she keeps quiet. But then her past comes back to haunt her. Secrets come out, but she learns, hers has no impact on how the people that love her, feel about her. In short, it’s best to just come forward, face the music, so to speak. Your relationships will survive far better with honesty than to holding back the truth.
Bravo, Scarlett Avery, yet another 5 star romance book.
Rod and Dom have a friendship that goes back to their childhood and has developed over past traumas. Rod acts as her protector and best friend. He is the one guy she trusts completely. A few drinks and their friendship shifts. Can they risk losing their best friend in hopes of so much more?
I am pretty new to Scarlett Avery but am loving this series so far. This group of people who have built their own family. They will do anything for each other. Alpha males and the strong women who tame them. Love the mixture of characters from rags to riches and born wealthy. Can’t wait to jump into the next book as I binge this series.
This was a good read. I am looking forward to Loki’s book.
2 1/2 Stars from me.
This is one of those books that leaves you feeling kind of hummm. Wasn’t great, wasn’t horrible. Dom and Rod have been friends for some time, but he friend zoned her. She wants more. Plot not bad, but the book pace was uneven. The characters were too in their heads and frankly I got bored with the whole book. Not a fan.
Had all the components of a good book. Great characters, long term best friends to lovers, good story. I just can’t quite put my finger on what it is that just didn’t do it for me. Think it was maybe the overly talked through sex scenes- their dialogue , I don’t know. But it might just be me so try it out as the story’s good.
For me this book just didn’t do it. I couldn’t get into the characters. I generally love friends to lovers romance.
But that doesn’t mean it’s not one for you! Just was not my style of writing!
