“Riveting, sharp, and mercilessly suspenseful, Savage is a masterfully constructed thriller from one of the best authors in the genre.”~Bestselling author Emerald O’BrienPetrosky’s back, and so is his most vicious rival: the man who killed his partner. Things are looking up for Detective Edward Petrosky. His grandkids are back in town, the girls next door are remarkably well-adjusted, and he’s … girls next door are remarkably well-adjusted, and he’s solving homicides as quickly as ever. It doesn’t matter that he’s sneaking shots before morning briefings; whiskey or no, he’s still getting the job done.
But his tenuous grasp on professionalism falters when he’s called to the scene of a kidnapping—the waitress from the diner he frequents has gone missing, the only server who knows he takes his coffee with a little liquor. And she’s due with her first baby any day.
It isn’t long before they find her newborn child abandoned in a nearby cellar—does that mean the woman is already dead? And the infant isn’t even the most distressing piece of evidence. Petrosky cannot overlook the similarities to a past case he wishes he could forget, a brutal pattern of abductions that ended with a killer torturing young women to death in his basement. That same savage killed his partner, a man Petrosky had regarded as his son.
But it’s not possible—years ago, Petrosky himself watched that maniac’s head explode in a shower of red mist. Could it be a copycat? The series of dead men found shrink-wrapped in their cars seems to suggest a serial killer patterned after the murder of his partner. But Petrosky can’t shake the feeling that there is more to the connection than they can see. Perhaps their current suspect knew the original killer—even psychos sometimes had accomplices. Or fall guys.
When one of his neighbors is kidnapped, a girl he sees as family, Petrosky’s suspicions are confirmed. Clues left at the scene lead them to the weapon used to slit his partner’s throat, one piece of the puzzle they’d never been able to locate.
This isn’t just evidence. It’s a warning.
It may be impossible, but it’s true: the man who killed his partner has returned, and he’s taking the people Petrosky loves one by one. Will Petrosky be able to locate a killer more cunning than any he’s ever encountered? Or will his fragile grasp on sanity finally snap?
Dark, gut-wrenching, and unputdownable, Savage is a knock-the-wind-out-of-you thriller that will keep you reading to the final, unforgettable page. If you liked Sharp Objects or The Wire, you’ll love Savage.

Savage (An Ash Park Novel Volume 10)
By Meghan O’Flynn
5 stars
Another absolutely nail-biting instalment to this amazing series by Ms O’Flynn! I cannot believe after 10 books I am still completely hooked on this series; the author has an amazing talent at grabbing my attention with her writing from the very start. I love Petrosky and watching him as he tries to solve crimes. Each book has been different and equally as riveting to read. In this story we see Petrosky face his demons and I was right there in the story with all of the characters. He is determined to find the person who killed his partner!
This series definitely needs to be read in order in my opinion _ it’s an excellent series and readers will not be disappointed!!
I loved this suspenseful book. This is the tenth book in this series which just keeps getting better and better with each book. I highly suggest reading this series from the beginning to get the most enjoyment from this series and from the main character. This is a well written story that has characters that are relatable and kept the story engaging to the end. The author’s attention to details made me feel as if I was right there in the story. Petrosky is back in another page turner where he is hunting down the person who killed his partner. He is my favorite character. He is determined, strong and doesn’t back down from a case. He just really makes the story for me. This is a fast paced story that kept me turning pages to the end. I highly recommend this book and this author.
I thought this was another good book in this series. It kept my interest from beginning to end.
I thought the storyline was engaging, and I enjoyed that we got to see Petrosky’s more vulnerable side. This book brought about real emotion while I read it, and I couldn’t put it down.
Although this is part of a series, it could have been read as a standalone, however, I would suggest you read the entire series from beginning to end.
This book, as expected based on her history of thrilling books, from Meghan O’Flynn leaves you totally hooked from page one to 255 (Kindle edition). There are so many character traits that are woven throughout this book (and series) that keep you engaged and craving for more. Each page leaves you wondering what will happen next, and hoping that your child’s nap time will last a couple more hours. Definitely binge worthy!
Petrosky and his partner Regina Jackson are on a new case that involves an old case Petrosky would like to put behind him – but he can’t. His partner who was like a son to him, Morrison was murdered. Now someone is copying those cases that Norton was committed to prison for. But this person is taunting Petrosky. He is targeting people he knows and some that he loves. This is a very emotional case for Petrosky and Shannon, Morrison’s wife. Jackson is trying to get Petrosky to get his act together and off the booze so he can focus. But as the unknown person keeps those memories fresh – Petrosky is having a hard time dealing with the stress level. Can he pull it together to find the killer? A heart-pounding story for sure! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Savage is another great Ash Park novel from Meghan O’Flynn. Petrosky has been low, but he will be plunged to new depths by a case that’s way too personal and brings the past roaring back. As the suspense builds and the punches keep coming, you won’t be able to put it down, even if that means reading through tears. Can Petrosky survive long enough to find justice? Read Savage today to find out.
This book brought up all the old wounds I still have from reading Repressed and Hidden. I am STILL not over the devastation of those books, and that is probably the best recommendation I can give of Meghan O’Flynn’s writing. I’ve become so emotionally involved with her characters that I can’t let them go. But in addition to three-dimensional characters you will care about as if they were your own loved ones (or despise as if they were your own arch-nemeses), this book is also tightly constructed with an intricate, suspenseful plot, whose many twists and turns were simply impossible to predict. Yes, the story is dark, but the dark elements are always there for a very specific reason. If you like mystery, suspense, horror, or psychological thrillers, this book is for you.
Dark, gut-wrenching, and unputdownable, Savage is a knock-the-wind-out-of-you thriller that will keep you reading to the final, unforgettable page. If you liked Sharp Objects or The Wire, you’ll love Savage.

As always Meghan O’Flynn has outdone her self with this one it is the most recent Ashpark installment she pulls you in from the very first chapter with her very descriptive scenes I literally had tears in my eyes at the very end of this book I loved it so much I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next
Wow. Just…wow! Talk about an intense, edge of your seat, nail biting book! I didn’t want to put it down! Meghan O’Flynn is a masterful storyteller with a twisted imagination. I love her imagination! I loved this book!
Wow. Well, I can’t say this was hard to put down, because sometimes I had to put it down and walk away. It was upsetting! I got so worried about Detective Petrosky, and upset about every victim that turned up. At times I was straight up shocked.
This is thrilling and edge of your seat reading. It’s a whodunit you have no way of figuring out, I’ve read the whole series and never could have guessed this. Where other books in the series you could get by reading as a stand alone, for this I’d at least recommend reading Repressed and Hidden. Just for a bit of reference, but you could be fine without them and read them after.
I was so surprised by things that happened in Savage, and stressed out. I think I’m gonna wrap our precious Petrosky, and Shannon, her kids, and everyone at the precinct in bubble wrap and hide them away from this writer for a bit. Leave my fave people alone! They deserve to be happy.
