Sweet love story with a side of suspense!
In this sweet and clean Regency story, Sir Stirling asks Quinn to help him look for one of the lost descendants of Robert the Bruce, but the last place Quinn thought he’d find her was in his dying uncle’s home, disguised as a widowed housekeeper.
Roslyn is on the run from her villainous stepbrother, so she has no time for dalliances with her employer’s nephew. But she can’t help getting swept up in the drama surrounding Quinn and the elderly earl, forgetting her own troubles just long enough for trouble to find her.
There’s a bit of insta-love here, a dash of a comedy of errors, a delightful cast of supporting characters, and a nicely-wrapped up HEA. It’s a quick novella that still manages to get a whole lot of story packed in. I loved every bit, even though I wished it could have been longer. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
2.5 STARS
I purchased this as part of a multi author bundle called the FLOWERS OF SCOTLAND – The Marriage Maker Collection.
There is no romance in this story. I did enjoy some aspects of the story line. You will not feel a connection to the H/h. They go from barely saying a few words and having little interaction to the H proposing.
When notified she is one of the Flowers of Scotland (one of Robert the Bruce illegitimate daughter’s), she isn’t surprised. We aren’t told how the step-brother happened to be in the village, and no idea how long the Earl lived. Did the H fulfill his duty to the Uncle or did they go back to her tavern?
There is an epilogue that was ok. This is basically a clean story with only a few kisses. No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, no romance and no spice. Even though part of a large series, it is a stand alone. (ljb)
Love a good historical romance with great characters and story. Captivating story with lots of character conflict. Entertaining read that keeps you hooked until the end!

The matchmaker, Sir Sterling is at it again and this time to bring one of the Flowers of Scotland into a match to help save her. What is a Flowers of Scotland you ask? Well you will just have to read to find out but really fascinating!
Roslyn was on the run from her stepbrother, who wanted to get rid of her so he could have the tavern left to her by her father. Fearing for her life she ends up getting a job as a housekeeper to the ailing Earl of St. Andrews. Hopefully he would not find her there. She tries to appear older and calls herself “Mrs Green”
Quinn Murray was a brewmaster and heir to an earldom that he truly did not want. He and his uncle were estranged and had not spoken in years. He meets Sir Sterling at a tavern on his travels and they negotiate some sale of his ale to Sterling’s business. But he is also given the request that on his journeys to try to find one of the missing Flowers of Scotland, who they knew was in trouble.
As fate (or the mysterious magic of Sir Sterling) happens, Quinn is called to his uncle, the Earl of St Andrew’s house, begging for his forgiveness of the past and wanting to see him. There he sees the housekeeper “Mrs. Green” and begins to think she may be the missing Flower! How can that be!
Without giving more away, all I can say is once I began on the first page I could not stop! I love this series and this duo of authors are some of my favorite! It shows in their delightful words that weave a story that is exceptional and will only make you sigh as you turn the last page!
This is a really sweet and clean Regency romance. Roslyn is on the run from her stepbrother and hides by working as a housekeeper for an elderly, ailing earl. She doesn’t know this but the earl’s heir, Quinn, is actually looking for her in order to keep her safe. This is a very interesting book with an intriguing storyline. It had my attention captured from the very beginning. The characters were wonderfully defined and lovable. It’s a delightful and charming read that’s part of the Marriage Makers series. I have not read any books from this series before, but after reading this one, I definitely want to give them all a try!

What a sweet darling romance with a hint of danger. This is a quick read and I really enjoyed it. The characters are genuine and realistic. Their feelings of fear, desperation, relief, resentment and forgiveness were easy to identify with. It was too short for my taste as I would have loved to have read more about the reconciliation between the hero and his estranged uncle the earl. For a change of pace I feel readers of all ages will enjoy this.
After her father’s death, heiress to her father’s pub, Roslyn Grant fearing for her safety from her stepbrother, flees. When she discovers an ailing earl is in need of a housekeeper, she disguises her self and applies for the position.
When Quinn Murray is contacted by his estranged uncle who is dying. The death of his uncle will land an Earldom in Quinn’s lap, of which he wants no part. However, with the encouragement of his mother and Stirling James, Quinn journeys to his uncle’s estate.
Upon his arrival, Quinn is surprised to discover that his uncle’s housekeeper is none other than one of the Flowers of Scotland that Stirling James had asked him to help find as he believed she was in danger.

Quinn Murray finds out that he is the heir to the Earl and owner of a brewery. Sir Stirling James, known as a matchmaker, tells Quinn he is interested in buying Quinn’s ale for his taverns. He later seeks Quinn’s assistance in locating the “last Flower of Scotland”. Quinn doesn’t expect to find her, but there’s something about the housekeeper he meets at his uncle’s home who draws his attention. What is it about her?
This is a good story with good characters and an intriguing story line. Grab your copy and see what the mystery is!
Roslyn is on the run, hiding from a stepbrother who is up to no good. She disguises herself and finds employment as a housekeeper where she meets Quinn, the man tasked with finding her by Sir Stirling. Quinn is drawn to Roslyn and vice versa, even though their different stations in life mean that she is reluctant to entertain thoughts of attaching herself to Quinn. A lovely story with strong characters.
Liked the idea of the flowers of Scotland being direct descendent of Robert Bruce. The last is the Rose. William Quinn Murray the heir apparent to the Earl of St Andrews was a brewmaster and was asked to see if he could find Rosyln Grant who was to be thought the Rose. He finds her masquerading as a housekeeper to hide from her stepbrother.

She is his flower.
Quinn Murray is in for a surprise is it possible that he has found The Flower of Scotland. Sweet Roslyn is on the run from her stepbrother a just plain dirty dog. Working as Mrs. Green she becomes involved with the drama between Quinn and his uncle, but that may have been a mistake because trouble is on the horizon. There is a bit of magic in this charming tale, it was so entertaining, with great characters, and story. I am looking forward to the next book. This is a book I am happy to recommend. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

The Marriage Maker strikes again. Rose is on the run from her stepbrother Teryn. A stepbrother who wants to sell her to a brothel and steal her tavern from her. She disguises herself to look older and gets the job of housekeeper to the aging, sick, Earl of Andrews. She likes the job, the servants, and the old Earl. But when his nephew and heir, Quinn comes she has to make sure her disguise is intact. He seems to look through her. Little does she know that he had two missions. One to meet his uncle, and one to find the missing Roslyn Grant, and he knows he has succeeded in both. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review
The story revolves around Roslyn and her escaping her step-brother’s malicious threats and then her new job as housekeeper to an earl. Quinn, heir to the earl, visits his uncle, meets Roslyn and later proposes marriage while in a threatening situation. There is a lot going on in this book but there is a HEA.
Clean read
In the beginning of the book Sir Stirling James aka The Marriage Maker is in search of lost progeny of Robert the Bruce. His friend Malcolm Russell, a tavern owner has discovered the identities of four of the Lost Flowers of Scotland. Roslyn Grant having lost her parents and running from her evil stepbrother just happened to be one of these Flowers. Our hero Quinn Murray comes into play as he is Owner of The Bonnie Lassie Brewery and he travels a great deal. Sir James enlists him in locating Roslyn. At the mention of four Flowers I thought maybe it was a series so I went in search of the other three. I did not find them. What I did find instead of three I found thirty two by various authors. This was a clean delightful short read. I have no doubt with the lineup of authors the rest of The Marriage Maker series will be just as delightful.
