Together in one collection, Books 13 and 14 of the Will Travel for Trouble series of cozy mysteries, Trouble at Devils Tower and Trouble in El Paso
Book 13, Trouble at Devils Tower
Minnie and Ben are back for more murder and mayhem! Minnie Crockwell, recreational vehicle enthusiast and traveler, and her ghost companion, Ben, are heading to Devils Tower. The massive monolith dominating the Wyoming landscape is the stuff of legends…and mysteries.
One such mystery finds Minnie and Ben before than they find him. A little green man/alien leads them on a merry chase to solve the Trouble at Devils Tower.
Book 14, Trouble in El Paso
Minnie Crockwell, recreational vehicle enthusiast and traveler, and her ghost companion, Ben, have arrived in sunny El Paso, Texas, land of cowboy boots and 1000 great Tex-Mex restaurants.
One such restaurant makes the greatest fajitas…ever. All Minnie wants to do is eat great food during her stay in El Paso, but there is no way that Minnie and Ben can get through a stay in fabulous fajita land without someone dying an untimely death at the hands of a killer. Each story in the series can stand alone, but to avoid extensive repetition of the backstory, the books would be best read in order.

With traveling and finding murderers, Minnie doesn’t have time for much else other than her friendship with Ben. Man, how things have changed with them, especially with Ben slowly becoming more visible and having the ability to do so much more. I am really liking this series!
I listened to the audio version of this boxed set. The narration by Michelle Babb was very good. I love her voice for this type of story. Her pacing is great.
The stories continue the tale of Minnie and her ghost buddy, Ben, traveling around the country to different campgrounds. As always, they run across dead bodies and mayhem as they get to know the people in the campgrounds and the little towns they stop in. Ben is continuing to become more visible and “solid”. That in itself is starting to make things more interesting–him eating in a restaurant, having to open car doors to get in instead of going through them.
I enjoyed Trouble in El Paso a little more than Trouble at Devil’s Tower. It just had a little more intrigue to it.
I was given a complimentary copy of the audio book. All thoughts are my own.
This two-book collection is part of Minnie Crockwell’s Will Travel For Trouble series. The books follow Minnie, a retired government worker and recreational vehicle enthusiast, as she continues her retirement adventures traveling from one RV park to another, hoping to enjoy a peaceful relaxing stay. The two novellas in this collection, Trouble at Devils Tower and Trouble in El Paso, once again have Minnie embroiled smack dab in the investigation of the deaths of other characters. Another campground…another death–is it murder? Is it accidental? Minnie is determined to find out The author keeps reader interest high with action, good characterization, and a fast pace to the stories. Minnie is curious, willful, and often being warned by her ghostly companion, Ben, (I love this guy!) to back off and let the officials take care of finding the murderer. And now Ben is beginning to materialize–where will that lead? With some twists and turns to the plot, the author keeps you guessing to the end of the story. Will Travel for Trouble is a fun set of books to read (or listen to as this reviewer did). The narrator, Michelle Babb, does a nice job of giving characters their unique voice, making for an enjoyable listening experience. I enjoyed this set of books and look forward to listening to the rest of the books in the series. I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook and was not required to write a review. The opinions are my own.
This review is for the audio book.
I enjoyed this book and what is great is you get two books with this box set, so the fun lasts even longer. The series is fun and I enjoy the whole ghostly aspect to the stories, with Ben trying to find new ways to help Minnie but this set of books has opened up a new twist to the tale, as Ben becomes more earthly. Minnie still gets in trouble for talking to him in public but the connection for him to read her mind is no long available to them and he craves food and showers, which leads to its own problems. They still make a great crime fighting pair by being nosey and are great characters that I enjoy listening about. Looking forward to the next book to see where the author takes the pair next, calling in on ex husband?
Trouble at devils tower
Minnie and Ben meet an alien and with his zapper he changes the course of there lives. More and people are reacting to Ben’s ghostly presence but before Minnie can question the strange little man, who likes to dress up as alien so the real ones won’t abduct him, he dies while she is chasing him. The police have lots of questions for Minnie but that is not what leaves behind a bad stink as she investigates.
Trouble in El Paso
While introducing Ben her ghostly companion to the wonderful delights of Tex-Mex food, Minnie makes a new friend only for her husband to drop dead at there dinner table. Can Minnie lend a supporting hand to her new friend or will she find herself investigating another murder? Secrets have a way for being found out especially with Minnie and Ben around.
Once again Michelle Babb proves why she is in such high demand as a narrator, with a excellent performance
