Some wounds take longer to heal…
A writing career is Chantelle Woods’ dream. To prove she’s not just a pretty face, she agrees to profile the wedding of the year for her magazine: The Taylor Wedding. By traveling back to her hometown, Chantelle has one problem. Her ex is the groom. It’s been ten years since she’s talked to Lance, and following him around for a month doesn’t sound promising. … a month doesn’t sound promising. Working with him has her thinking about the mistake she made when she left, and what would have happened if she’d stayed.
Lance Taylor is working to be a partner in his father’s law firm. Despite being career-oriented, he shocked the world when he announced his engagement after years of bachelorhood. When he learns that his first love is profiling him for the story, he knows it will only stir up trouble. He can’t afford the risk.
There’s no denying the magnetism between Lance and Chantelle, but the past is too painful to rehash. As his wedding day approaches, they both have to decide their fate. Go their separate ways for good or see if there’s a second chance for love.

Chantelle is a magazine writer who has the assignment of profiling the wedding of the year. Her job is to follow the groom around for one month prior to the wedding. No problem, that’s pretty simple right? Well what happens when the groom just happens to be your ex from years ago? Will old feelings resurface? Is the chemistry that was there years ago still just as strong now? Maybe this is just what they need to get that second chance at the love they let get away.
An enjoyable, heartwarming romance story with wonderful characters.

This is the story of Chantelle and Lance. She is a magazine writer and her next assignment is to profile the wedding of the year. She will be following the groom around for a month. The only catch is the groom is her ex from ten years ago. Lance isn’t sure he is okay with Chantelle being around him for a month. When they get together their old chemistry resurfaces with a sizzle. Is this a second chance for them or will they go their separate ways? I enjoyed this heartfelt romance. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Chantelle worked for a magazine and was given the responsibility of writing a story that would advance her career. She had the task of following the bridegroom around gathering as much information as possible. The groom was known for being single and successful. Chantelle was excited about the chance to advance her career until she was told it was her ex-boyfriend Lance she would be reporting. Chantelle and Lance were more than high school sweethearts but had a bad breakup that left Chantelle hurt.
Lance was not thrilled when he learned Chantelle was the one doing the story. On the other hand, Chantelle was trying to remain strong as though it wasn’t affecting her, being around him. She had to get over her feelings and deal with the present for the sake of keeping her job. At the same time, Lance had to come to terms with his feelings regarding his parents.
This intriguing story was about second chances and forgiveness. The author did a nice job of keeping it appealing and authentic.

Chantelle Woods dreams of a writing career and agrees to profile the “wedding of the year” for her magazine. But this one will be bittersweet because her ex she hasn’t seen in 10 years is the groom. Her assignment means she has to follow him around for a month. But the memories it will bring up make that really uncomfortable.
Lance Taylor is working toward a partnership in his father’s law firm. He also is not comfortable about his first love hanging around with him for a month. He’s not sure what problems that might cause. The two of them still have strong chemistry between them. One way or the other, they will need to decide if they can break away or what they really want is a second chance for their love.
The story line is powerful, and the author is able to pull out strong emotions from the reader by making the characters more real. This is the perfect way to invest the reader in the outcome, because the situation they find themselves in is believable. We don’t always get a second chance in life. Grab your copy and find out if these two will reach for that opportunity or let it go by forever.
This is a well written book with strong characters in Chantelle and Lance. The author does a beautiful job developing the story and bringing out all the feels with the emotions flowing throughout ,both laughter and tears. She brings a realistic feel to both her characters and story line. She moves the story fluidly and delivers a heartfelt read.

Honestly, when I read the premise of this story I thought that I could not imagine being in Chantelle’s shoes. The author does a good job of telling Chantelle and Lance’s emotional story of first love, regret and how early choices can continue to impact current choices. There was a good blend of backstory and current unfolding to keep me engaged throughout.

I’ve read several books written by Daria White; she has done a great job at writing a good book; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of books her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the characters.

I have reviewed several of Daria White’s books. I liked that they were all clean reads that I could share with my daughters, but they left me feeling as though there could have been more. Ms. White’s writing has continued developing with each book she publishes.
I enjoyed Lance and Chantelle’s heartbreaking story. I liked the depth of the characters (though I felt Lance could have been fleshed out a tad bit more). This is the type of story that I wouldn’t hesitate to read again. Ms. White doesn’t paint love as a beautiful fairytale. She shows that life can, and will, get in the way of matters of the heart. It is scary how often we make choices because of the influences of others only to realize too late that we may have sacrificed too much. There was just the right amount of tension throughout the story to keep you interested. Most of the characters felt real. The story flowed and had more depth than her other books. The details surrounding Lance and Chantelle were heartbreaking.
There were numerous “memory scenes” that blended into the text. I didn’t find them hard to follow, but changing the text (like using italics) may help readers who do. Overall, I enjoyed this read and would recommend it to others.
