Remington Kennedy was out of “bless your hearts” to give. She moved north for a chance at something better. Her compass to success was getting an education and getting out of Tornado Alley. A need to work led her to Easton’s Pub. A desire to fit in drove her into the arms of the local football star filled with hopes, and dreams. A year later, she found herself with a baby on the way, more lost … than ever, alone, and terrified.
Evan Rooney was nobody’s hero. As a good cop in a small town, he felt the daily weight of responsibility. Known as the preacher’s son, he struggled to keep his faith…but secrets had a way of finding the surface and Evan found himself drawn to the red-headed barmaid with a bun in the oven like a moth to its flame.
Both needed a little saving…both needed love, and a baby needed a family made of more than just DNA.

Mine To Keep is written to be read as a standalone, but many readers prefer to read the series in order.

This was a very sweet, slow-burn romance. I kind of feel like I’ve been waiting for Evan’s story for forever. When we first met him, I can’t say I was expecting Remi to be the answer to his happy ever after, but now that I’ve see them together, it makes sense. Neither one believes in true or lasting love, yet there’s a feeling of love-at-first-sight going on with them. They’re also both dealing with a bunch of unresolved family drama. This is one place I would have loved to have a bit more context. We learn some about Evan’s dysfunctional home life, but next to nothing about what brought Remi to land here. Additionally, I wanted to know where the situation with Evan’s parents went. That plot thread wasn’t tied off to my satisfaction. There were some continuity errors that threw me off a little, but since what I read was and advanced copy of this book, I’m hoping they will have been corrected before publication. Knowing that Andy’s is the next book in the series makes me absolutely desperate to get my hands on it.

Holy I loved Remi and Evan, together these two were explosive. Friends to lovers has always been my favorite. These two have secretly crushed on each other, but it was never the right time. These two once they got their timing right turned me into a giddy teen.
M.C. Cerny has brought us another book to love! We have been given “Mine to Keep”. Remington Kennedy is just barely scraping by in life. She’s “very” pregnant by her one and only boyfriend – with that term being used very loosely. She considers herself lucky that she’s got a job at ##### and an apartment upstairs. She’s only has herself to take care of the soon to arrive baby. After all, baby daddy, who is now a pro football player, couldn’t run fast enough when she told him about her pregnancy. He’s off making million dollar deals as she’s scrubbing and tending bar at work. Enter the hot police officer, Evan Rooney. They had shared one memorable kiss that was never mentioned again. Evan is totally in love with Remi. He doesn’t care that she’s having a baby with another man. After all, that loser is not standing up to any responsibility for the baby. He only knows that he wants her with him no matter the history. But will Remi be able to accept that his feelings are true.
You have to feel the twists and turns that happen in a new love. This relationship has a little extra baby baggage. Evan only knows that he feels that this baby is more than anything that the sperm donor could ever feel. He keeps chipping away at the shell Remi has built around herself and the baby. After all, why would any intelligent man want her? How long will it take for them to navigate the roadblocks and feelings to come together?
Thank you again, MC Cerny, for yet another wonderful story.

M.C. Cerny has a hands down winner with this newest addition to this series. Remi and Evan left me a melted puddle of goo. The changes that transpire in how they see themselves and each other after the addition of a true bundle of joy was so real and relatable they became more than characters. A classic example is the thoughts that go through Evan’s mind when Remi goes into labor. I can so easily hear the same words coming from my husband. LOL This book delivers all the feels as well as quite a few snort giggles.
This is book seven in the Love by Design series. I’d have to say this is my favorite book in the series so far. It’s hot, sweet and entertaining. You can’t help but love Evan and Remi is a sweet. You can’t help but want to see them both happy.
Evan had a thing for Remi since he first laid eyes on her but she’s off limits because Evan doesn’t do permanent relationships. Remi is a forever kind of girl and she’s pregnant. Remi wants Evan but doesn’t think he’ll want her since she’s pregnant with another mans baby. She doesn’t see a happy every after in her future. When Remi let the father of her baby know, he told her to get rid of it. His football career was more important than a pregnant hookup so Remi goes about having the baby on her own. She lives above the treat her more like a little sister than an employee. They keep telling Evan to stay away from Remi. When she goes into labor in the middle of the night Evan ends up being there to help her out. Before they knows it the man who’s swore off relationships is neck deep in one. Remi’s living with him and he’s taking care of the baby and wanting to stay forever. He wants more but he’s not sure how Remi feels about him. Can they find happiness together?

This book was so sweet!! I liked it from the start! Evan can’t get Remi out of his head, and she feels the same way. Neither can tell the other about their attraction, but fate has other plans!!
