1. DRAEKON MATE – Viola’s Story
This has been a wonderful, fantastical alien story with just enough intrigue and sex to keep things interesting. The characters are fully developed and flow into the storyline adding their colorful personalities. What a great, racy adventure.
2. DRAEKON’S FIRE – Harper’s Story
Raiht’vi is the daughter of in the third year of her ten year apprenticeship to becoming a scientist of Zoraht. Her path has been determined for her since the moment of her birth and she will carry out her duty. She had been put on assignment in the bottom lab. An assignment was given her in the bottom lab, not because of skill but rather as a test by her father. Her test subjects, a woman who had been kidnapped from the streets of Giflan and Dennox, a high ranking soldier who reported to the Empire. When Vulrax, third born in the Empire, comes into the lab and sees the two prisoners, both he and Dennox morph into dragons claiming the woman as their mate. Raiht’yi, being the highest ranking scientist there at the time, orders the woman prisoner shot to control the dragons. Once dead, both draekons morph back to men. Now they must be exiled. They know and have seen too much and can not be trusted. Once again, Lee Savino has the innate ability to create a world with characters so flawlessly, they will grab hold of your imagination and keep you there until the very last page. It’s wonderful to see the main and side characters interact with each other in such a way it seems like every day conversations you don’t need to interpret or put thought into. It’s just natural.
3. DRAEKON HEART – Ryanna’s Story
Zorux carries a deep secret. Ninety-five years ago, his father, a Lowborn servant, killed his master and bribed a calligrapher to sear off the tattoos on his skin and replace them with those of his master. His father then married his mother, a Highborn from Giflan and had five children. His oldest sister, himself, the twins, and his baby sister. On his father’s death bed, he confessed to his wife what he had done. She immediately took the ceremonial dagger and slit her husband’s throat. Then killed his oldest sister. Zorux would’ve been next except his father’s dying cries woke him and he was able to save himself and the remainder of his siblings. His mother then took her own life. Impersonating a Highborn is one of the high crimes of the Empire. The punishment is death, not just to the person who committed the crime, but to his entire family. The bloodline is tainted and must be eliminated. Before Thrax was exiled, he never lacked for female company. He was a pilot. Every woman that shared his bed knew that he wasn’t looking for anything more than a night or two. He never felt the desire to stick around. Having his father die before he was born and his mother dying in childbirth, Thrax was raised in an orphanage so he’s never felt a real connection with anyone. Sixty years on the prison planet has made him see life through a different, more patient lens. He hasn’t changed as much as he’s grown up. He’s learned to appreciate the import things in life. This series just gets better and better as more and more of the storyline unfolds bringing with it the characters and their personalities that will enchant and delight all at the same time. Passion runs high in this triad even though Rhyana is convinced they aren’t her mates since they haven’t transformed. The plot is starting to thicken and so anticipation rises. Truthfully, I can’t wait to start the next book. This has become a new favorite for me.
4. DRAEKON ABDUCTION – Olivia’s Story
Olivia has been with the CIA for eight years, six of which have been in the department handling Global Issues. So when the Zorahn wanted to bargain with the US Government making a trade of 100 women for the cure to leukemia, the offer was accepted and her job was to find out what was going on. Olivia’s boss thought he didn’t follow her instincts so she wasn’t his first pick, but her DNA had been the one the Zorahn wanted, so the assignment was hers. Zunix and Liorax instantly recognized Olivia as their mate and transformed into their dragon. But Liorax does not want a mate. He had a bondmate once. Rather than wait to become the ruling Lady she betrayed Liorax by sleeping with his father and making him the subject of ridicule among the Highborn of the Empire. Zunix is under the impression Olivia is only a tool to be used. Having her as a mate will allow him to transform at will. He will make her his, but he will never be hers. He is a product of his training and will always be a spy. In his opinion, mates are a weakness. Now Belfox and Herrix see Olivia as soon as they get to camp and are immediately transformed into dragons. What’s a girl to do when four large HOT Draekon men are courting her so they can mate with her? Even though this is a sci-fi sexy alien series, the overall plot is a well thought out story of twists and turns with tempting tidbits being revealed as time goes on. The characters are intertwining and interacting more with each other and the story just flows. I’m captivated by this and I’m sure others will be as well.
5. DRAEKON DESTINY – Felicity’s Story
Felicity, Xanthox and Luddox were a triad with the mating bond. Each came into the relationship with their own secrets and insecurities, some more than others. Once again Lee Savino has taken these characters through a myriad of trials, misunderstandings, and emotions before they find their true happiness. These books really just become better and better with each one. The depth of understanding and small details that continue to come out throughout the story only enhance the telling that much more. If you’ve only been reading the reviews to see if this is something you’d be interested in, then do yourself a favor, and start this series immediately. You won’t be disappointed!!
5.5 DAUGHTER OF DRAEKONS – Harper’s Birth Story
Lee Savino has let us go through the final stages of pregnancy when things are uncomfortable and everything makes you manic, whether it’s laughing or crying, all the fears and what ifs and insecurities. What a joyous occasion when a birth is due.
This was a great addition of renewed hop in the middle of all the turmoil and chaos our Draekons are being faced with. It left me feeling good, even knowing the bad guys are still working the plot.
6. DRAEKON FEVER – Sofia’s Story
This has been the most exciting tale in the series so far in the Draekon world. Sophia is still a virgin at 30 years old. Having had her grandmother’s teachings in her head all these years so she doesn’t become pregnant at fourteen like her mother. She’s had plenty of offers but none she felt would last a life time and that’s what Bryce is wanting. Rorik and Ferix have known Sophia was their mate the minute they saw her after their ship crashed. But with a member of their party dying, their friend being poisoned by the orange creatures and then finding out the person responsible for bringing them to the prison planet was a member of their own family, they are honor bound to stay away from her out of sheer guilt. What happens when a mate bond is not acknowledged? Let Lee Savino take you through this epic tale of three of the most honor bound, courageous Draekon’s to date. Their loyalty, love, honor, perseverance and courage will at times leave you humbled in it’s wake. This was a great story that once again left a door open for the next Draekon adventure.
7. DRAEKON ROGUE – Bryce’s Story
This book begins with Bryce having a horrid day. It’s the anniversary of her brother’s death and her pet karvil, Fluffy McCutie, is missing. She didn’t have any mates, not that she was bitter, but she just needed the hugs he could provide. While out on her search, she meets two men. Cax, the leader of the fabled lost city of the Draekons and Hurux, the commander in charge of finding the lost women and returning them to Earth. They both immediately transform into their dragons. After returning to their human forms, the men’s conversation becomes so convoluted Bryce can’t listen anymore and leaves them sitting there deciding there are no guarantees in life. Happily ever after is sometimes reserved only for fairytale princesses and sometimes, someone gets dealt a crappy hand. What Lee Savino has created in this world, not withstanding the sexual chemistry of a MFM alien romance, is somewhat thought provoking; especially in this book. As more of the plot unfolds and pieces of the puzzle are laid out, there are moral decisions of right and wrong presented that must be decided on. Not only do we get the adrenaline rush from intrigue and romance but we also get the thought provoking question of “what would I do?” Thankfully, a door has been left open for another book.
7.5 DRAEKON HOLIDAY
It’s been six months since the women from Earth crashed onto the Prison Planet. In those six months, they’ve all found not one but two mates. One already has had a Draekon hybrid baby, and two more women are ready to deliver soon. They’d found a lost city, found a way to rescue to free a political prisoner and brokered peace. So many things have changed in the past six months and to top it off, they were free to travel now. That meant they would be separated after becoming a large family of sorts. The women have tried to explain to their Draekon mates the concept of Santa bringing gifts, but it only brought about their protective instincts when someone broke into their homes. LOL This is just a good time read where, like New Year’s Eve, it will bring an end to some things and a new beginning for others. Don’t miss it!
I like science fiction romance and I like dragon shifters. This turned out to be a good series for me. Likeable characters, a dangerous but interesting planet, a story that gets better with each book.
I’m going to read more by these authors.
This is menage. Happily ever after. No cheating.
All of these books were awesome. I read each book individually so my reviews are up for each book. What I will say is this series is amazing, with wonderful characters and crazy storyline that keeps your nose in the book, waiting to see what happens next. It takes a lot to surprise me and this series was a great surprise of twists and turns and amazing surprises. Start with book one and don’t stop.
A Spellbinding, Emotionally Electric Saga of Survival and Love…
The “Draekon Desire: Exiled to the Prison Planet” is a large, nine book boxed set that includes all seven full length novels and two bonus novellas of the “Dragons in Exile” Series by Lee Savino and Lili Zander. An unexpectedly vibrant and imaginative set of books which together, tell the fantastical sci-fi tale of the planet Zoraht, the high empire’s ruling class and the scientists within, their Draekon, and the human women who grow to love them and ultimately set them free. It is a surprisingly entrancing story arc (albeit a bit over-the-top in places); a huge saga told over the course of a thirteen hundred pages, with the individual stories of each woman lending more threads to the impressively layered overarching tale. It is a breathtaking and intricately layered story from start to finish. As such, I do not recommend reading these books out of order as each builds on the ones before it. Every book in this collection is another piece to the larger Draekon puzzle, and all are important to the overall journey and final legacy revealed.
Book one, “Draekon Mate”, is the beginning of the saga. One in which we are introduced to the planet Zoraht, home of the Zorahn, the nine human women chosen to be part of the first alliance exchange with earth, the shadowy prison planet, and some of the core mysteries of how all of the points between earth, the women, and the scientists of Zoraht are connected. All of which is unveiled through the lens of Viola, Arax, and Nyx and their never before witnessed “mating bond”, a connection so powerful it changes the course of all involved forever and sets the characters introduced in this foundational installment onto paths of discovery that will reverberate throughout the eight books to come.
Book two, “Draekon Fire” continues the foundational building of book one. This installment continues the saga of the nine earth women now trapped on the prison planet with the exiles, a planet that you soon begin to realize houses many secrets, all which are revealed through the lenses of Harper, Dennox, and Vulrux. This installment pushes deeper into the mystery surrounding the Draekon and their home planet, introduces you more fully to the mysterious scientists involved with it all, and makes you further aware of how many secrets are being harbored by many within the group, all the while charming you with the sassy, sexy, undercurrent of the mating of Harper, Dennox, and Vulrux.
Book three, “Draekon Heart” begins the real journey of it all; here is where you are slowly dropped into the real meat of the overall story. Via the mating story of Ryanna, Thrax, and Zorux you begin to better understand the mysterious scientist Raiht’vi, how she’s connected to the larger plot, and how what she’s done affects them all in the present. You also begin to see the men within the exile group more clearly, gaining a better understanding of who they are as individuals, why they were really chosen for exile, and how their connections with the human women are so dangerous to the larger plan of the Zoharn rulers. And through the lens of Ryanna, and her trust issues with her mates caused by her abusive ex-husband on earth, you begin to understand how nothing is as it appears, and that everything around them should be questioned and investigated for their ultimate survival and launches you down a path that will leaves you sizzling and stunned.
Books four and five continue immediately where book three ends, with war on the horizon and other uncontrollable events unfolding before them at rapid fire speed. Book four, “Draekon Abduction” is told through the eyes of Olivia, Zunix, and Liorax, and is our first glimpse at the other exile group present on the prison planet. Here you are thrust eyeballs deep into the darker, deeper history of the creation of the Draekon mutation, as well as, the sinister implications of the testing that perhaps isn’t quite as random as it is made out to be. The revelations just keep coming and coming, giving you enough spine tingling subterfuge, enough James Bond/007 level backstabbing and trickery, to almost make you forget about the fact that this is also a saucy, sassy, sweat inducing m/f/m romance book. And unlike the others, here along with the main mating story of Olivia, Zunix, and Liorax, you also get a few side mating tales of Felicity, May, and Paige. Felicity’s of which is continued in much more detail within book five, “Draekon Destiny”. Where, you start to see firsthand how some of the mate groups are cracking under the pressure, and how rumors, misunderstandings, and fear are making some of the love matches splinter apart before they even really get a chance to begin.
However, not all is doom and gloom because as we wait for the impending Zorhan military to invade and possibly annihilate our beloved warrior dragons and their mates, book six, “Daughter of Draekons” gives us something beautifully sweet to help us suffer through the fear and uncertainty. This first novella of the series continues the story of Harper, Vulrex, and Dennox and their impending bundle of joy. A much needed respite from the urgency and distress of the previous two books. Here we are given a glimpse of what could be once the impending danger passes, and we are given a few chapters of pure love and sweetness before launching back into the thick of the mysteries and subterfuge surrounding the Draekons in the next book.
After getting a bit of sugar from the authors, book seven, “Draekon Fever” drops you right back into the relentless deception happening everywhere. Via the story of Sofia, Ferix, and Rorix, Savino and Zander allow us to glean a more thorough understanding of the physical and emotional toll all of the chaos on the prison planet is exacting on both draekon and human. Here the story shifts dramatically and introduces a faction previously unknown to almost all, something most thought lost long ago but that can now, in the present, change the course the impending war with the Zohar elite. This installment proves to be the most nail biting, emotionally tumultuous book in the series yet and will keep you riveted from cover to cover. A riveting rapid fire set of events that lead right into book eight, “Draekon Rogue” where the authors continue down the unexpected path of whether or not the prison planet and all of its inhabitants will survive total annihilation.
In this final full-length book in the series, you are presented with two distinct and powerful commanders on opposite sides of the fight, and you are once again thrust down an even more unexpected path when said commanders, Cax and Hurux have an unforeseen reaction to Bryce. And as war with the Zorahn solders looms over the prison planet, Hurux is thrust into a role that sickens him to his core and has the power to keep everyone on the precipice of survival. Can he accept the human he has sworn an oath to return to earth as his mate? Will Cax, accept Hurux, his sworn enemy, as his pair bond? Will the planet, Ashara, and all who live there survive the Zorahn Naval forces sent to destroy them? This final full length book of the series will keep you on the edge of your seat from cover to cover! And just when you think you cannot take anymore, book nine, “Draekon Holiday” will bring you back from the edge, allow your heart to swell, and give you a bit of rest so you can absorb the thousand-plus pages before it. As in this final book and second novella of the series, told from the collective point of view of all nine human women, we get a chance to once again step away from the violence and betrayal and check back in with the love, lust, and baby making.
In this final installment, we get to see the progression of all the mating bonds, in addition to the activities surrounding the transition away from all that has happened. It is a sweet, heart tugging look at all the characters. And while it is meant as a way to tie up the remaining loose ends of this gigantic saga, it is a bit haphazard in presentation, and in all honesty results in making you want more, more Draekons, more intrigue, more answers to the questions still outstanding. You will wonder why May and Paige are left in the fringes without books of their own. You will wonder about Arax and Cax moving forward. You will wonder aloud and say, “that can’t possibly be the end because what about…?”, and a thousand other questions.
I can honestly say, you will get to the end of this series and inwardly groan, wishing there was more. From start to finish this series captivates you. And even if, like me, you are ultimately not a hug sci-fi fan it will suck you in and hold your attention hostage as it encompasses several different aspects of the romance/kink literary worlds. One, it will definitely satisfy your need for sexy alpha/alien/gigantic growly “you are mine” hot dudes, and all the romances within the pages of this series are panty melting. Two, the characters are all strong, emotionally intelligent, and interesting on their own something rather rare these days; all put together they make a hugely intriguing, soap opera worthy tale. Finally, it is just a great story world, one you will get lost in. Yes there are some bits I wish they had included, and yes it is most definitely fanciful and a bit over-the-top, but it is a spine tingling, rollercoaster of a tale and one I highly recommend!
What a fun and adventurous set of books, 7 full novels and 2 novellas. Each full novel can stand alone but are all connected.
All males that test positive for the Draekon gene get sent to the prison planet for the safety of the galaxy. While 10 earth women are traveling to help another planet they crash land on the prison planet. Now dragons are popping up everywhere. When a set of Draekon see their mate the shift into dragons (MFM).
Each story has a different and heart felt issue that causes conflict that keep you listening.
Well done.
I own this in audiobook and also own each book individually.
