Hyde Johnson is an erotic audiobook performer. A ‘Read By’ byline is too plain, and ‘Narrated By’ still doesn’t capture what he does. His livelihood is his passion. Performance art, the air he breathes. Which translates to a recluse who is a hot mess. He’s not eating right, he’s drinking more, and his family’s meddling is making it harder to stay on task.Being designated the guardian of her young … guardian of her young niece Tina is the last thing Gypsy Hartford expected. But when the State of South Carolina unceremoniously puts Tina in her care, Gypsy accepts it’s time to grow up and stop floating from town to town. Where does she start when she has no degree, no real friends, and no family besides Tina?
A want ad could be the answer to both their conundrums. Or it might open a whole new can of worms. Especially when you throw in a crazed author with an unhealthy obsession for her narrator.
WANTED:
Someone to run errands, cook, and handle minor cleaning. Must be quiet and self-starting as I work nights and sleep during the day. Compensation negotiable, including transportation and board. Discretion a MUST.
Only serious inquiries please.

This is the second or maybe third book I’ve read/listened to and RE Hargrave is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Her characters are well-developed and and perfectly flawed but likable. Wanted’s characters are so beautifully broken they perfect for each other, if only they would open their eyes to the possibility.
Hyde is a reclusive audiobook narrator living in the shadow of his guilt about his parents’ deaths. He doesn’t take care of himself and his best friend might be the bottle of vodka in his freezer. Worried about Hyde, his brother and his wife, Zeke and Connie, place a want ad for a live-in housekeeper. Gypsy just happens to overhear them and takes the job. Unfortunately, the ad doesn’t get retracted right away and that throws a huge wrench into Hyde and Gypsy’s world.
Always the free spirit, Gypsy must suddenly take on the responsibility of her teenage niece, Tina, when Gypsy’s sister is suddenly killed. Hoping to give Tina a sense of stability she hopes the job with Hyde will give them both a home and a sense of safety. What neither Hyde nor Gypsy planned on was the chemistry between them, despite the obstacles thrown in their way. Not only do the characters get in their own way on the journey to HEA, outside forces try to drive a wedge between them and for a while it looks as though they will succeed. But in her carefully artful manner, Ms. Hargrave rejoins the couple after a hiatus that could have broken their bond permanently.
I love this writer’s style and characters. The pace of the story is perfect and the slow burn and chemistry is perfect for the couple. I heartily recommend this book, in either its written or audio form. and look forward to more from this author.
Tor Thom and Charley Ongle are my favorite narrator pair. Their performances showcase the chemistry and emotions in Hyde and Gypsy. They give life to the characters through their narration and perfectly execute the feelings and the passion of the story.
This story was a unique romance about a secluded audiobook narrator and a woman who need to step up and be a parent to her niece. Hyde never needs to leave his home and his family hires help for him. Gypsy is desperate to provide a stable life for her niece as he life was falling apart. Could this job be her saving grace, or another failed attempt? The banter between Hyde and Gypsy makes their relationship real. I found myself always rooting for Gypsy. I could not stop listening to the story.
Tor Thom and Charley Ongel are a great narrating team. They bring out the best and the worst of each character. It is easy to follow their narration as they narrate each character with different and consistent voices. Through their narration, I felt as if I was a part of this story and it was a movie in my mind. I enjoyed this amazing narration.
4 star Review Wanted by R. E. Hargrave
AUDIO REVIEW:
R.E. Hargrave is a new author to me although I am familiar with the narrators Tor Thom and Charley Ongel.
This was such a novel story line; Hyde Johnson is an audio book narrator and I have to say it was a blurb that grabbed me. Such is his job he spends most of his time working from home and so has become a bit of a recluse. When his family intervene and suggests he needs some help, Gypsy answers the add. Now that she has guardianship of her niece Tina, she needs to step up and settle down. Could they be able to help one another out?
This was a steamy, quirky, fun story line that I found entertaining and the narrators Tor Thom and Charley Ongel brought Hyde and Gypsy to life for me with their duet narration. The ease of the narration made it an enjoyable listen as this team blend so well together.
The secondary characters made me smile and added an additional layer to my listening pleasure and I will be listening to more books from R.E. Hargrave as soon as time permits.
This is an audio review, Narrated by Tor Thom and Charley Ongel. This is my first book by R. E. Hargrave and won’t be my last. It also was my first audio by Charley, I thought she did a great job bringing Gypsy alive.
This book was so different than your typical romance book out there right now, it was very refreshing to have a different storyline. This book will definitely have you on an emotional rollercoaster.
The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star was because I’m not a fan of stories written in the third person, but the story was written pretty good that it didn’t bother me as it does in most books, and I figured out the twist from the beginning. I’m looking forward to other books by Hargrave.
Wanted
By R E Hargrave
Narrated by Tor Thom and Charley Ongel
Every time I listen to an RE Hargrave book, she impresses me. Always an original story in the romance genre, never following the crowd. This one is the first time I have heard one about an audiobook narrator and I loved it! Hyde has had some difficult times, and with his job as an erotic romance audiobook narrator, he has become a recluse. After all, he never really has to leave his house. But the effects of his quirky behavior has left his home a mess. His family hires him help, and our fun begins. Gypsy has guardianship of her niece Tina. With this responsibility, she has to stop her wandering ways and settle down. Will helping Hyde be the answer? Fun, quirky, funny, touching, steamy, crazy, you name it, Hargrave has melded it into this fantastic listen. I was pulled in and couldn’t wait to see the outcome. With a cast of secondary characters that help bring it all to life, it is a must listen!
Tor Thom and Charley Ongel perform this gem in duet narration. This team is one of my favorites, and they bring these characters to life. Each character has been given a voice, each scene perfectly executed and passion is off the charts. Grab this one and give your ears something to enjoy!

I could jump right in and say that even though I know I should, “I never write reviews”… Honestly, I write them only when something either impresses me or makes me cringe. This one impressed me… This story was an absolute breath of fresh air. First of all, the writing is excellent… I didn’t notice any glaring typos or grammatical errors. That by itself gives it a 3 star rating compared to what I’ve been reading. I didn’t have to continually be pulled out of the story because of grammatical mistakes, poor word usage or a plethora of ill placed commas. Next, and probably my favorite thing… is the story is sweet and believable. You genuinely like the characters in the story and you are rooting for them. Gypsy is well developed and strong female without being a curse word laden witch. Can you say refreshing? She is a little lost on her path in life but genuine and nice. I would actually love to be Gypsy’s friend. Her outlook on life is lightness and good. Not to say she doesn’t have struggles, because she does… oh does she ever, but she doesn’t have a “woe is me. Poor me… I’m so pitiful” world view. Hyde has been hurt and is struggling with his demons but he isn’t so broken that he is some all around a-hole. He is thoughtful and introspective and cares about his family and about Gypsy. Likable, relatable characters; that bumped it up to 4 stars… and the rest is just because I couldn’t put it down… This is worth every penny and worth the evening it took me to read it.
Long Awaited Carzy Love
Hyde, the quirky reclusive bachelor narrator, and Gypsy, a free spirit wanderer guardian. Throw in a caring brother and his overwhelming family, a demanding author, and a grieving niece. This story has all the craziness to make or break them and just enough to keep you wanting more.
RE Hargrave has such a great way of weaving a story that just lures you in and the characters feel like your friends. I have all of RE Hargrave’s book.s I am so happy to add this one to my collection. Welcome Back and Don’t keep us waiting so long next time 🙂
I loved this story. The characters were amazing! I recommend this to all romance readers. This story has a twist in it which keeps this a page turner.
This book is a reflection of RE Hargrave’s talent. I have read many of her books and this one adds to my favorite list. She always comes up with great stories, in different genre too.
I love the fact that Hyde Johnson is an audio narrator. It adds a little something to the story in my opinion. He lives the bachelor life and pretends to be happy with it. He has his world turned upside down by Gypsy Hartford. After the passing of her sister, Gypsy has to take care of her niece. It isn’t an easy task but she’s willing to find a way to live a better life.
I like how the characters get together. How they build their own story. Hyde is a character I would like to see again.
It’s a great story. A must read. Get your copy now.
I was so engaged in this story that was well written and the well defined characters, Gypsy and Hyde, kept me turning the pages until the very end!
I really enjoyed this book. Hyde Johnson is an audio narrator and a recluse living in his childhood home. Gypsy Hartford is single, young and has recently been left in charge of raising her niece, Tina, after her sister passes away. She has no money or job and then a help wanted add brings her to meet Hyde. I really enjoyed the development of each character, and the interactions between Hyde and Gypsy. It’s a wonderful story and one I highly recommend.
Wanted by R.E. Hargrave is the book that I have read by this author and it will not be the last. Gypsy is a free spirited person who has her wings clipped by a personal tragedy. Hyde a quirky recluse. When a chance meeting with Hyde’s loving yet interfering family brings the two opposites together, it holds true to the saying opposite due truly attract. The story has a quick start, jumping right into Gypsy and Hyde’s meeting. Then a slow build to tell the each character’s personal backstories. The characters are well developed and compliment, not only each other but the story nicely. The only real criticism I have for the story, is that I would loved to see more of the story to the unraveling of a certain blond pain in the — . Make sure not to pass up this read this summer a definite 5 star read.
Hyde is a voice actor, who lives in his childhood home that he has renovated. His studio is in his home and he doesn’t leave…ever. His parents were murdered in their home, the one he lives in now, when he was in college.. he feels guilty because he knows that if he has been home,he would have been able to save them.
Gypsy has been a wanderer since she was 18 years old, never staying anywhere permanently. Now she has custody of Tina, her sisters daughter. She needs to stay put for Tina’s sake. Gypsy takes a job as Hyde’s housekeeper. She likes him, Tina likes him, the arrangement appears to be working.
Situations arise that cause Gypsy’s flight instinct to kick in…. and she does just that.
What happens? I promise you, that reading this book will not only give you the answer to this question, but, oh, so much more! R.E. Hargrave is a fantastic writer and this book is no exception. There is so much heart in this story! For me, it was a dive right in and don’t stop till you’re done kind of story! And that’s just what I did! Hyde caught me from the first pages of it, and his determination and fight kept me captivated!
Hyde Johnson may narrate erotic tales, but his personal life is anything but. A confirmed reclusive bachelor with some pent up family issues, he gives the illusion that he is content with his lifestyle. His brother and sister-in-law know different. They love him and are worried about his mental and physical health.
Gypsy Hartford is a young, single woman who has been left with the daunting charge of raising her adolescent niece, Tina when Gypsy’s sister suddenly passes away. Her life is far from perfect – she has no career, no money, no car and above all, no job.
A chance conversation overheard in a local coffee shop sets the stage for Hyde and Gypsy’s meeting.
While this story is short, it is packed full of emotions. Redemption, assessing one’s self worth, learning to trust, letting go of the past and above all – accepting love.
The one character who stood out for me was Tina and her ability to connect with Hyde in a way no one has ever been able to do. Their friendship was so touching and I believe the kindling for the story.
Hargrave, while best known for her erotic, BDSM tales proves with this book that her genre limits are endless. She is a great story teller and quite frankly, I will continue to read what she writes.
Well done, Ms. Hargrave!
Self-centered recluse Hyde is an erotic fiction narrator with a drinking problem. Free-spirited Gypsy suddenly finds herself needing to settle down when she gains custody of her niece, Tina, upon the death of her sister. Can these two polar opposites find it in themselves to work around each other?
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The characters came to life through the author’s phenomenal way with words. My feelings towards Hyde were like an emotional rollercoaster, some moments had me loving him while others had me hating him, but Gypsy’s spirit kept us grounded.
Will everything work out for Hyde and Gypsy,? What happens with Tina? You will have to read “Wanted” for your self to find out!
This is the first book I’ve read from this author. I will definitely be reading more. I really enjoyed Hyde and Gypsy’s journey. What an emotional rollercoaster I was on. They both had to deal with tragedies. I absolutely adored Gypsy’s niece Tina. I loved her connection with Hyde. I loved that Hyde was an audiobook narrator. That’s definitely a different story for me. The writing was fantastic and the story flowed well. It kept me wanting to know what happens next. I loved Gypsy’s free spirit. All in all a wonderful story.
Hyde is a recluse who pushes people away by lashing out. Gypsy refuses to let him bully her into running away because she has to provide for her niece. I absolutely LOVE their chemistry that they both try to fight. This isn’t your typical love story. There are twists and turns that keep you turing page after page.
R. E. Hargrave is a new to me author. Wanted was better than I expected!
I hadn’t read a book where any character did the audio recordings for books. It was fascinating learning about that world.
I loved the way the author built the relationship between Hyde and Gypsy. I liked that they started to trust each other with their history. I loved the way their story evolved. It wasn’t a cookie-cutter story.
There were a few surprises, and I loved the way the author wrapped it all up.
