Home Again is a MM romance with a best friends to lovers theme, a meddling family, lots of steam and a HEA.
Home Again was previously published under the title Made in Portugal and the pen name of Ana Newfolk. While the manuscript received a light edit, the story itself hasn’t changed.

Joel & David were best friends when they were younger, spending summers together in Portugal. Now, after many years of being away, Joel is back to visit his extended family & to spread his parents’ ashes. He’s also hoping to reconnect with David.
They both end up reading a bit of a journal that their mothers wrote together when they were young, & decide they should also try to revisit some of the places their moms visited when they were young. It ends up being a great way to reconnect with their moms, as well as with each other.
It’s a HEA you can see a mile away. I’m not sure I totally buy the uncle’s explanation of his past behavior, but it was still a nice story to read.
This was my first read of Ana’s and I was not disappointed! Her book went beyond the basic MM romance… such a great story, such great detail. I felt I was there thru their “journal journey”. I was so immersed in Joel and David’s tail. Gotta say, I had to break out the hankie at times… but that was great. Every character introduced brought something to the book, except for Lucas ( insert angry face here). Joel and David’s journey, 1st and 2nd, were meant to be. Their time apart was long, but dissipated the moment they reconnected. A slow burn, but a good one. The setting in Portugal made me want to visit and eat all the foods. Looking to her books to read more
Joel and David’s romance takes you on a second chance, road trip love story through Portugal. Ana Ashley brought so much emotion and laughter and love to this story that it sucked you in from the beginning and didn’t let go until the end. An absolutely fabulous read!
A truly wonderful read. I loved Joel and David in this second chance friends to lovers.
I received an ARC for this book in exchange for an honest review.
I really loved this fallen out of touch best friends to lovers story. I enjoyed how their chemistry brought them together as they explore some family history while learning some interesting things. They also have some hurdles to overcome.
5 stars! 5 stars! 5 stars!
Ana Ashley is quickly becoming one of my favorite author. I everything I have read by her so far is just simply right up my alley.
This book was previously published under the name “Made in Portugal” and under the pen name of Ana Newfolk. It got some light editing for the rerelease but I haven’t read it before so I can’t compare.
I loved Joel and David and this is a beautiful, beautiful story of coming home and second chances of friendship and love.
I won’t go into the plot because I’m just going to keep talking and talking because that’s how much I love it. I’ll think of it for a long, long time.
Pick it up! You won’t regret it.
I received an ARC from the author in a giveaway and am happy to leave my review.
This book was awesome. I loved the characters. Joel and David were perfect for each other. In true Ana Ashley style there is love, there is drama, and so much sweetness. I really connected with the characters and felt that they were truly authentic. This book made me want to go to Portugal to see the beautiful landscapes that are described (and to eat a custard tart 😉 ). I’ve loved everything by Ana that I’ve read (which is almost everything she’s written, but I’m working on that one next) and this one was no exception. You should definitely read this book, especially if you like sweet and romantic stories.
This story has a beautiful vibe! We have a friends to lovers second chance story. Not only are the characters, both main and secondary, absoultely brilliantly crafted, but the story itself is riveting! The setting in Portugal and first hand knowledge of the country from the author make it a perfect choice. The roadtrip vibe was a great idea, as it made the story shine and add a lot of uniqueness to it.
I totally recommend the story to everyone. There is a touch of angst, there is plenty of fluffy and sweet. The balance is very well done and the book is a total one sitting binge read.
