Wow at times this seriously gave me the creeps, snakes not to bad buts it’s all the creepy crawlies yuck! Lots of suspense and excitement in what is quite a nerve wracking journey for the heroine and not much in the way of fun for anyone. Looking over their shoulders all the time for fear of being shot in the back or being snatched or betrayed again. Ryker and Miles stay cool calm and collected for the most part and do what’s needed to keep even those that don’t deserve it safe, all the while trying to figure out who’s the snake in the grass and how to get everyone home. Great but a little scary plot kept me interested and invested in turning pages even while holding my breath at times. Fabulous characters, a tense but thrilling plot and a budding romance all in one awesome story, I never get sick of reading these books.
Ryker is my idea of a hero. All of Dale’s men are drool worthy and made from honor and integrity. Ryker, however, is special to me. He is strong, intelligent and confident. His leadership technique has him standing back while watching and listening while subtly influencing his team.
Ryker’s task is to rescue a geologist, two assistants and their guides who were abducted by gorilla fighters in Columbia. No one seems to know why this group has been taken and this story guides you through all the twists and turns while keeping you guessing about who the real bad guys are.

Ryker is sent on a mission with Miles to rescue Manila, a geologist who has disappeared in the Columbian jungle along with her two team members Andy and Benjamin. Ryker and Miles find them in a guerrilla camp being held hostage and rescue them. They begin their race through the jungle with the guerrillas chasing them. Pablo, one of the guides was beaten, stabbed and left helpless in the jungle for the wild animals to feast on. Their other guide had disappeared. They rescue Pablo and carry him with them to a town for medical assistance. While there, someone shoots at Manila and she must have a bullet removed from her shoulder. The action continues and the mystery continues as to who is responsible for everything that has been happening to them.
I would recommend this book.

All Manila wanted was to search for platinum in the Colombian jungle. She certainly did not want to be captured by guerrillas. Thank goodness for Ryker who was tasked with her rescue.
This is a fascinating and entertaining story which I really enjoyed.
Ryker ready for a new direction, looking forward to his mission that will lead to his new life.
Manila a “rocks” girl, headed into the jungle to find her rocks, her head in the clouds, no idea who or what is around her. When Manila meets Ryker in the jungle under bad events is the start of a cross country battle to survive, world changing adventures await. This is the start of a strong relationship which grows and grows.
Fast pace, actioned packed, a great story.
Manila is a geologist, and she’s been kidnapped while working in the jungle in Columbia. Threats to Manila and her team coming from the guerillas, snakes, and spiders/scorpions, not to mention guerilla sympathizers in the village. Who can they trust, and will they ever make it home. If Miles and Ryker are as good as Manila believes them to be, she feels pretty secure in their ability to protect her and her team, and get them home safe.
Start to finish an exciting, page turning read. Danger, intrigue, betrayal, and even some romance.. what more could you ask for.
Ryker finishes the previous assignment and is looking forward to a rest, but in a few hours the next job has arrived on his plate – there is a female geologist called Manila who has been kidnapped together with her two male colleagues by guerillas in the Columbian jungle. Can Ryker and his ex-colleague Miles to help out keep her safe and get them all back safe and sound?
This was a dramatic story with dangers from the jungle as well as the guerillas. It became worse when it was apparent that everything was not as it appeared and there was also a subplot involving one of her colleagues – the problem was working it out, find who it was, and letting it play out so that it could all become clear. Then as the story progresses it because more like the other books in the series when Ryker and Manila became closer and built up a dependence on each other. Through it all, both Ryker and Miles were in control and able to keep everyone safe. The ending was very dramatic as we found out who was involved and why. Well written and very enjoyable.
Back from Shanghai (Mavericks Book 5, Asher), Ryker heads to the Colombian jungle in Book 6 with Miles to rescue geologist Manila Folger, her two associates, and two guides who were captured by guerillas as spies. Normally, Manila would make solo trips researching illegal gold mining for her university while looking for platinum for her Global Mining Company sponsors. This time, however, the university insisted that she bring two other faculty members. How did the guerillas know where to find them, and will all the members of her team survive? Lots of questions to consider for the whos, hows, and whys of this trip’s challenges, as well as finding their way out of the jungle in one piece. My heart is still pounding.

Another excellent read from Dale Mayer. All the action, danger and mystery and surprises you could ask for. Malina just ran into one trouble after another. Someone definitely wanted her out of the way. So read this and visit the columbian jungle for the story. HEA.
