David Rosenfelt’s Dogtripping is moving and funny account of a cross-country move from California to Maine, and the beginnings of a dog rescue foundation When mystery writer David Rosenfelt and his family moved from Southern California to Maine, he thought he had prepared for everything. They had mapped the route, brought three GPSs for backup, as well as refrigerators full of food, and stoves … food, and stoves and microwaves on which to cook them. But traveling with twenty-five dogs turned out to be a bigger ordeal than he anticipated, despite the RVs, the extra kibble, volunteers (including a few readers), and camping equipment. Rosenfelt recounts the adventure of moving his animal companions across the United States with humor and warmth, and tells the tale of how he and his wife became passionate foster parents for rescue dogs, culminating in the creation of the Tara Foundation and successfully placing several thousand dogs with loving families.

It was refreshing. I was looking for an easy read. This was fun for a nice change
Fun read for a fellow dog-lover.
I love dogs and so does the author! Sweet stories of rescuing dogs and how their lives were impacted!
Love Rosenfelt, have read all of his Tara books.
Dogtripping is a favorite, gave my copy away so glad to
put it on my kindle.
Love this book – it shows that there are still some kind and wonderful human beings around.
As a dog lover and RV owner I bought this book. Loved it. So much so, I’m working my way through the author’s novels now. I appreciate his wit. And love of dogs of course.
Dave and Deb are moving their 25 rescue dogs from California to Maine and the trip is very interesting, to say the least. Dave writes with a dry wit that is write entertaining. Interspersed are chapters about the various dogs they have rescued, which are absolutely heart-warming. If you are a dog-lover, this is an absolute must-read.
I’m all about dog rescue. This book was a fast, easy read and very much up my alley!
I loved this book. I’ve never read this author before and I understand this is not his typical genre. However this book is so well written it makes me wish to seek out his other books and give them a go. All I can say is thank you for taking us along on your journey.
Lol several times.
LOVE this book and it’s author. I wish he were a personal friend. He has that special kind of Jewish humor that l grew up with and adore and now that l’m reading his Andy Carpenter series he is feeling like an old favorite friend! He had me laughing out loud more times than l could count, so often close to tears of happiness for one of his dogs. A book any dog lover would enjoy .. and this comes from a cat person!!!
