Three hea books in one. Perfect for bedtime reading.
Good storyies but yukkkkkkky sex
Each is a bit different, yet some of the characters are carried through these books.
I think some of them also have been in other books. In other words, you start to feel as if you are building a network of characters, which is rather fun.
Stacy Reid is a great story teller. And she writes about my favorite genre, historic romance. Strong characters and Great plots.
I did not plan to read all three books but the characters in each were compelling and their happy endings made this a very satisfactory collection.
Loved all of these. Can’t wait for more.
3.75 RATING FOR BUNDLE.
The bundle ends at the 91% mark. Rest is story for another book of hers.
1. Sophia and the Duke – 4 Stars
I love when an author includes the blurb before the story, as Stacy has done. How we are introduced to this pair was a joy. I felt a connection to both of them immediately and wanted their love to bloom. Of course, tragedy strikes and deception.
We fast forward almost 7 years and the truth comes out. My emotions were so strong in what happened to them. Then at the 15% mark I went from loving the H to disliking him immensely. He doesn’t want her anymore for his wife but they can try an affair and the h was in agreement. WHAT?!?!? Then the H does an about face and wants her but she is content to keep it as an affair.
This bothered me and made me dislike them both. The journey to HEA isn’t smooth. I felt it was a romance story until it became more about lust. Lovemaking outside of marriage, heat level 4 out of 5.
I did enjoy the epilogue and it tidied everything up. By this time, I went back to feeling a connection to them.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, little on romance for 1/2 the story and spice.
2. SINS OF VISCOUNT WORSLEY – 4 Stars
The author did throw some twists and surprises which I enjoyed. There is one part at a ball and the h sees something. I just knew where it was heading, and saying to myself HERE WE GO AGAIN! But, No I was so far off and it delighted me!
The h knows he is a first class rake and after what happened to her sister, I felt she succumbed to quickly. I did like when the first time she caved, she realized what she was doing and stopped. I just wanted her to stop for a longer period – my own personal preference.
There is descriptive lovemaking, several times, outside marriage, heat level 4.5 out of 5.
There were some editing problems but only once did I have to reread a name – mother’s name vs should be the child.
We have no cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, some romance, spice and some surprising twists.
3. AN UNCONVENTIONAL AFFAIR – 3.25 STARS
I found the H at times to be wishy washy. He doesn’t stand up for what he wants until the last few pages of the story. He is an Earl and lets his mother and siblings tell him what to do. The h comes across not caring what the Ton thinks of her. Her parents have nothing to do with her and I felt so sorry for how she was treated. How awful to have lived in this time period. She was escaping a rape and she is shunned for it.
Then we have a group the h associates with who are kept women. I didn’t care for that part of the story line. This really added nothing to the story.
Then you have the H who has written a tell all book that is sweeping through Society and changing the way men look at their wives. But, when you discover he has no knowledge of what he speaks, it will baffle you.
There is lovemaking, outside of marriage, heat level 5 out of 5. The Lords name is used in vain I believe once.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, HEA, little on romance and steam. (ljb)
Sophie and the Duke
William, Lord Lyons & heir to the Duke of Wycliffe loved Sophia Knightly but then disease struck the village & the Reverend Knightley & all his family perished also William’s father fell ill with a heart problem & succumbed too. William’s grief was so great that he had to get away. Now several years later he’s returned only to see Sophia at a ball.
After losing the family she loved, Miss Sophia Knightly was taken in & cared for by her aunt & uncle & she’s lived a carefree and unrestricted life. The last thing she expected was William Astor, the Duke of Wycliffe, to create the scandal of the Season by chasing after her at a ball.
What a lovely read which I devoured in a sitting, we’d met William in the previous book when he returned home. An engrossing, captivating read of second chances. The characters have lots of depth, not easy to do in a short book. I loved William & Sophia who had loved each other even though they were driven apart, he thinking she’d died & she thinking he’s abandoned her without saying goodbye. They needed to learn to trust & open their hearts.
Sins of Viscount Worsley
Miss Marianne Ashbrook is left with little choice but to knock on Viscount Worsley’s door and demand he supports her sister Lucy’s child. After all, he is the father. She’s been sent by her vicar father to take Lizzie to an orphanage but Marianne is loath to do so. Michael St Ives, Viscount Worsley owns a gambling den but he’s not the man everyone gossips about. Marianne is the strictly brought up vicar’s daughter who is also strong & determined Lizzie won’t be ‘thrown away’ so she’s amazed when Michael takes Lizzie in & hires her to be her niece’s governess.
I loved both Michael & Marianne, he’s the jaded lord & she’s the country miss. Their attraction is apparent from their first meeting but their stations in life are so different. There are misunderstandings & false assumptions in this well written lovely romance. I spent a lovely rainy afternoon engrossed in this book & read it in a sitting
An Unconventional Affair
Maximillian Langdon, Earl Kentwood, is the author of the ton’s most salacious erotic literature: A guide to passionate romps between a lord and his lady. His name whispers on the tongues of gentlemen and ladies in shocked and admiring tones. Everyone believes he is London’s greatest lover, except Lord Kentwood is still a virgin. With a reputation forever tarnished by scandal, Lady Amelie Weatherston is resigned to an unfulfilled life. She is also a member of a secret widow’s club. Her friends give her a mission: to seduce London’s most delectable lover and report her findings to help her wicked widow friends keep their protectors happy!
A lovely second chance novella. Max & Amelie grew up together & fell in love as they fished, swam & rode but then her parents married her to a man nearing sixty years old. Amelie’s husband died the night she was seen fleeing the house in her nightwear, the night she became scandalous but everything isn’t black & white. I loved both Max & Amelie & how their loved had endured & especially how they’d waited for each other. Their time spent at his estate was both sizzling & endearing. I also loved how he came to his senses & how he made his intentions known. Another lovely read from the author, which I read in two sittings.
Three engrossing books which I read individually & so glad they’ve been brought together in a box set
This is a great way to grab three books from this entertaining series with one simple click. This is my candid, volitional review of the three books included in this bundle.
Sophia and the Duke (Forever Yours Book 7) = 5 Stars
I loved this heartaching romance. Sophia and William’s story is one that will tug at your heartstrings and probably push a few of your buttons too. This is a books were I feel the focus is much more on the emotions and the characters. That is not to say that the storyline wasn’t entertaining, because it was. I just felt it kind of served as more of a backdrop for William and Sophia’s poignant romance. A really beautiful read about love, loss, grief, life, lies and love.
The Sins of Viscount Worsley (Forever Yours, #8) = 4 Stars
I liked this book but I felt reality walked out the door and never came back. I freely admit that I am no expert in these subjects but after reading many, many books I feel I have enough general knowledge to say that many of the things that occur in this book are not only implausible but would lead to a catastrophic fallout for the characters. This greatly influenced my enjoyment of the book because it really made things feel off. If I take that out of the equation, I feel you’re left with a fun if unrealistic romance.
An Unconventional Affair (Forever Yours Book 9) = 5 Stars
This was a very enjoyable read. I thought that Amelie and Max were great characters. There was so much more to them than other peoples perception of them. This couple had to take the long way around to reach that HEA they deserved. Their attraction, chemistry and affection for each other was practically tangible and that made rooting for this duo a easy thing to do. There is such a beautiful sweetness about this romance and it is sure to melt your heart and have you swooning.
