You may have heard the line ‘Into each life some rain must fall.’ It’s true for every one of us. We’ve all lived through some hard times, but they don’t have to destroy us. It’s what we do after the rain that determines whether we allow ourselves to find happiness again.
Ted and Audrey have both known the rain. In fact, they’ve each weathered their fair share of storms.
Audrey’s thirty-year … storms.
Audrey’s thirty-year marriage ended when her husband traded her in for someone the same age as their children. It’s taken her a few years since then, but she’s finally ready to step out and become a new version of herself.
Ted’s moved on and built himself a good life after the storm that devastated his world many years ago. He’s rich and successful; he’s rebuilt the bond with his son and his family. Life is good, and at his age, he’s not even looking for great.
When these two meet, they bring a ray of sunshine into each other’s lives. But will another storm threaten their new-found happiness?

A wonderful story about two people that find each other.
I really enjoyed this book and loved getting to know more about Ted and Audrey and their backstory, and what makes them who they are today. The relationship between Izzy and Audrey and Audrey and her kids was special and I also enjoyed the relationship between Ted and Diego and I have to say, it was awesome seeing Roberto again, that was a surprise as I was reading along to have him pop into the picture. Richard was a piece of work and I do wish he would have had something happen to him, especially considering what he did not only to Audrey but his kids as well, I’m hoping karma will find him at some point, but enough about him. Everyone has baggage in their life, and it doesn’t matter how old you are, but how you deal with it and move past it and I feel like Ted and Audrey did a great job of that. I just really felt a connection to this book, and I have to say that the Summer Lake Silver series, has become one of my favorites by S.J. McCoy. It also looks like Diego and Izzy’s story is coming soon and that book ought to be a doozy with two headstrong alpha individuals, their story could definitely be a wild ride. The quote “Into every life a little rain must fall”, a very appropriate title for this great book.
A Little Rain Must Fall has been a fantastic book in the latest Summer Lake Silver series. In book 3 we meet Ted and Audrey. Ted is a smart business man who has made choices in his past that has hurt his son Eddie. Audrey is a new character introduced in the series. One of my favourite parts early in the book is the encounter at the bar where Audrey and her friend Izzy are discussing Eddie and remark about how Eddie is a good looking guy but too young for Audrey. Audrey would prefer the father and low and behold Ted is indeed Eddie’s father. This encounter made me laugh at how easily we make assumptions and how the world is less than 7 degrees of separation. As romance develops between Ted and Audrey we meet some of our favourites from previous books like Laura and Smoke, other couples in the Silver series Marianne and Clay and the wonderfully flamboyant Roberto!! My only quip with this book is Richard. He is one of the most hateful characters I have ever read alongside Guy. I hope this man gets what’s coming to him for hurting his family so badly. I loved the secondary storyline of Diego and Izzy and can’t wait to read the fireworks developing there. SJ again has shown her love and dedication to her characters in this book. Everyone who reads any of her books is immediately transported to a brilliant setting where love wins in the end. Another great book SJ and I am looking forward to more from Summer Lake soon.
SJ McCoy has done it again. The story captivated me from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. The characters come alive on the pages and you feel their emotions. I absolutely loved Audrey and Ted’s story and anxiously await the next book.
This is the 3rd book in this amazing series and is Ted and Audrey’s story. Both characters have been hurt by their pasts and I loved the instant attraction between them. This is a beautifully written story which is a heart-warming read about moving forward together, and the love and support from family and friends. I was totally captivated throughout this epic story and I cannot wait to read more in this series, which I highly recommend for all reader.
Book Three in the Summer Lake Seniors series. Always love my visits to Summer Lake. Ted and Audrey are an older couple who had first marriages with not the best outcomes. Both with children in there 30’s. The meet at the Lakehouse at her children’s birthday party after a moment earlier in the day at the lodge. Sparks flew immediately and they were so adorable together. Met some new friends and visits from some old friends. Jack, Emma, Laura, Smoke, BEN, Eddie and let’s not forget Roberto. Always a great time at the lake. Thanks for another great book SJ.
I am loving this story about mature adults!! It’s always nice to visit the lake. Loved the story of Ted and Audrey. Loved how their romance was fast and surprised both of them because you never know life is going throw at you!
Another wonderful book in the Summer Lake Silver series. I love how all the characters travel from book to book. This book is hard to put down once you start because you want to find out what happens between Ted and Aundey. It’s filled with a little sadness, love, hope and happiness. It shows that love isn’t just for the young at heart; us older and wiser people have a chance at it too. It’s an easy read that keeps you wanting more until the very end.
What a lovely story between a more “mature” couple. I really enjoyed reading Ted and Audrey’s story. The storyline was great. I love that they are older and wiser meaning that all of the misunderstandings that most young couples face, this couple knew what to do and how to handle things. Dual point of view. No cliffhanger.
