Kent
She set me up. This cute little woman with the big eyes and the sweet words framed me. Now I’m serving a jail sentence thanks to her tricks. But I’m no fool. Layla is clearly a highly trained operator who decided to take me out of the equation. My contract to eliminate Graham Tucker–owner of the Fill-A-Friend stuffed animal chain–hangs by a thread, and I have to get this kill before Layla … Layla steals it out from under me. The day I’m released is the day I’ll take my vengeance on that cunning assassin with the innocent eyes. And then I’ll take out Graham Tucker and close my contract with the Brotherhood.

Pandacorns are my bestsellers. Seriously. I can make a pandacorn, post it on Etsy, and it’s gone within an hour. Working at Fill-A-Friend pays the bills so I can work on my real passion–one-of-a-kind stuffies that have my own personal flair. But Fill-A-Friend can be demanding and sometimes intense, especially since I’m accident prone (one time I left the cotton stuffing machine on. Whoops.) Or like that time when I got rid of a bunch of ugly stuffed dogs and some random guy stole them and went to jail over it. Yikes. Anyway, things are going okay until Kent shows up in my life. And then they get so much better. He’s kind, caring, and supportive of my stuffie-making. The only issue is that he says weird stuff about “our line of work” when we don’t even do the same thing, but he’s handsome and amazing, so I don’t mind. In fact, I think I’m falling for him.
My stuffie business and my personal life are headed in the right direction . . . Until Mr. Tucker comes to inspect the store and things go terribly, horribly wrong.
MINK’s Note: Curl up with a kitty and a coffee for this cute, safe, FUN read!

A hilariously epic read that I devoured. Mink delivers again with this steamy read.
It’s got it all, hit men, mafia connections, and the sweet and innocent Layla smack in the middle.
When Kent our lead finally gets out of jail, his goal is to track down the woman who put him there. He thinks she a rival assassin attempting to get to his target before him. In reality she’s what she seems. An innocent who’s mission is to make one of a kind stuffed animals.
Layla thinks Kent’s a little strange, but that doesn’t stop the overwhelming attraction she has to him.
Two people who think the totally wrong thing about the other, it’s complicated but it’s also hilarious.
Chemistry is hot hot. Banter is gold. Secondary characters are engaging, and it’s a must read.
What starts as a revenge mission for Kent turns into something he never believed he’d have in his life.
2 months ago, Kent was involved in a high speed chase and sent to jail. He always believed that Layla put the stolen stuffed animals in his getaway car to sweep in and take his contract from him. When the Brotherhood refuses to bail him out to teach him a lesson, he’s got nothing but time to stew and plan his revenge.
But things aren’t what they seem with Layla. She insisted on getting rid of the stuffies due to pieces that could be considered a danger to younger children. Working at Fill-a-Friend is just a way to pay the bills and pay for the supplies for her true passion…making pandacorn stuffies, or more like unique stuffies on her Etsy page to please children.
When Kent walks into the picture Layla isn’t sure what to think or do. But she’s sure she’s falling in love with the big brute. But will she be able to get past the fact that at one time Kent wanted to get revenge on her? Will she be able to get past his career choice?
**I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this title**
I loved this story. It was entertaining and enjoyable. The characters were interesting and relatable. There were a lot of feels, but I mainly did a lot of laughing.
Kent is an assassin with a job to do, but is waylaid and ends up in jail for a bit. He’s positive that he was set up by another assassin trying to take over the contract on the owner of Fill-A-Friend. Kent has done his homework but is still impressed by how deeply embedded Layla is in Fill-A-Friend. She may look cute and innocent but he has to finish the contract and make sure that she doesn’t steal it from him.
Layla makes one-of-a-kind stuffies on her off time but works at Fill-A-Friend to pay the bills. She’s kind of klutzy, maybe a little ditzy, but she is great at what she does. Layla meets Kent and thinks that he is just amazing and supportive, not to mention very handsome. She’s positive that things are going in the right direction and she can’t wait to show the owner of Fill-A-Friend her stuffies when he comes to visit.
I loved so much about this story. The internal discussions that Kent has with Paisley CRACKED me up! Layla’s friend Gia and her family are awesome and there needs to be more with them. Their happy ever after made me smile. You REALLY need to read this story!
Kent is an assassin.
Layla works at a stuffie store and makes her own creations, pandacorns, when she isnt at work.
Kent spends 2 months in jail and he believes that Layla is also an operative who set him up.
He gets close to her so she can lead him to his next hit. What happens when he leaves the truth? Will Layla be okay with his profession?
This was a hilarious romantic read about Kent and Layla. Layla is sweet, naive and oblivious to her surroundings. Kent is out for revenge but when he sees Layla, all bets are off. This story was full of laughter, heat and love. I couldn’t stop reading until I finished this wonderful, funny, thrilling, beautiful love story. Loved this addition to this awesome series. Can’t wait to read more by MINK.
Cutest dark parody.
I never get tired of this author’s bizarre and hilarious style. She blends murderous comedy with the sweetest smut romance. And I gobble it up like honey.
In this story, the couple is to die for. Literally.
Layla is a naïve employee at a stuffed animals toy store, where she dreams of selling her own adorable stuffies she designs and makes at home. Prone to accidents, she unknowingly thwarts an assassin’s mission to kill her boss. And he wants revenge!
I couldn’t laugh more with the whole debacle. He is obsessed with her double life, and the contrast of his assumptions that she is a cunning operative and the actual innocence of the poor girl is extremely funny. I loved sweet Layla and her creative stuffies and her regal cat. The interactions with the assassin, Kent, are both fun and lovely. And they fall in love, of course. Steam and food ensue. Perfection!
What about the hit on her boss? That’s madness with its own plot of death, professional tactics, practical friends, and dreams come true. And the epilogue sparks with so much romance and stuffies. One of my favourites.
Who knew being so clumsy and not being a fan of doggies could land you the hitman if your dreams. Certainly not accident prone Layla.
Outrageously funny. Highly recommend.
I read an advanced copy of this book.
Absolutely adorable and sexy as all get out! Kent had me in stitches thinking that Layla was an operative. All Layla wants is to design her stuffies and show them to the owner of Fill-A-Bear to maybe, hopefully become one of his designers. Once he gets close to Layla, Kent is hooked and he doesn’t even realize it. Layla’s knack for mishaps was so cute, it made her extremely likable as well. Another winner from the crazy talented Mink!
