This is the first book in a new series in Crystal Shores. I felt bad for Sarah on the way she has been treated by her parents. Needless to say I did not like her parents at all. I can’t imagine a parent treating their daughter the way she was treated. Sarah is a sweet young woman who is shy and doesn’t feel good about herself. It was so hard to watch her being afraid of men. I was so glad to see her meet Eddie and how gentle he was with her. Eddie’s daughter Kelsey was a sweetheart that I just loved. Eddie had his heartbreak he had to come to terms with. I enjoyed watching the two learn to trust each other. This is a sweet romance I encourage you to read. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.
Where to start with this read?! I think my heart swelled ten times its normal size with happiness for Sarah (with an h) and Eddie. I know this is going to be one of my favorite reads of the year, hands down. Terra has wrote a story about two characters that experienced so much pain but found healing and happiness in each other. Sarah and Eddie are so relatable and their story was so full of love – I can’t forget Kelsey (Eddie’s daughter) and Jan (Eddie’s sister) either, these two ladies will win your heart just as much as the main characters. I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn’t put it down until I reached the end and when I did reach it, I was smiling with tears. Those tears weren’t from sadness, but happiness for those two. I loved seeing the both of them heal, grow, fall in love. Definitely a fantastic start to this new series and I can’t wait to read what Terra has written for Anika and Jackson.
****I received an ARC directly from the author in exchange for my honest review****
This well written storyline will have you feeling so many emotions along with the characters. Eddie is a single father to his four year old daughter Kelsey, his wife died. He is a volunteer firefighter and when he gets called in his sister Jan watched Kelsey. Sarah has been through so much in her young life. She is hesitant and scared of men because of her father. This was well written, has fantastic characters you can’t help but root for and the storyline will pull at your heartstrings. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Light My Life is book one in the Crystal Shores series and it took me on an emotional roller coaster ride. Sarah had a rough life growing up and Eddie lost his wife and was left a single dad. This is a heartbreakingly beautiful story about two people who find each other at the right time. I absolutely loved Sarah, Eddie, Kelsey and their journey of life and love. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
Learning to light up their hearts together
Light My Heart is the first book in the Crystal Shores series by Terra Kelly. This is the story of Sarah and Eddie, and his daughter Kelsey. It also introduces the reader to the small and quaint town of Crystal Shores, Michigan and some of its sweet and quirky inhabitants. So we get some of the background and some of the characters that will be in future books.
Sarah grew up with an abusive and harsh father and a mother who did not defend or protect her. So she left her home in North Carolina and moved to Crystal Shores. There she rents a rundown home, the only thing she can afford, and gets a job at Marv’s Grocery store.
Eddie was widowed a year ago and has been mourning his wife Sara since. But he now is a single father to sweet and adorable four year old Kelsey. He is trying his best, which can be hard sometimes as he is a firefighter. But he has a wonderful sister, Jan, who helps and is and Kelsey are great together.
Sarah and Eddie live down the road from each other. When Sarah discovers just how unsafe the house that she rented is she has to figure out what to do. Lucky for her Kelsey and Jan are smart as Eddie ends up offering Sarah his guest room to stay in. Yes they are attracted to each other but both are afraid and have a lot of their own baggage. But there is even more thrown into the mix when Sarah’s father shows up and tries to force her to come back home with him, “where she belongs” according to him.
Will Eddie let Sarah get away before he acknowledges that it is okay for him to move on and love Sarah? Will Sarah finally learn to trust a man with Eddie, knowing that he will not hurt her?
Just how precocious can Kelsey get? Although she is really cute and smart also.
This is a sweet, small town romance with some drama and a whole lot of emotion. You will go through a few tissues as you read Light My Heart but it is worth the running mascara.
I received a copy of this book for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

I knew from the very first page that I was going to cry. This was such a beautiful and heartbreaking story of love and loss and pain. Eddie and Sarah were so easy to love and I loved Kelsey and Jan just as much. I’m so ready for more in this series!!

And… Let’s go for another ride… A ride in between pages of another intense book.
Terra Kelly has given me some of the most intense books I’ve ever read and she’s super versatile.
Not only can she write a sweet book, but she can also write some hard and intense stuff.
Just grab her books and see for yourself.
Light My Heart is her latest release and it’s the first book from the Crystal Shores series.
This book explores the lives of Eddie and Sarah.
Eddie is a widower and a single Glenn dad.
He’s struggling to beat his sadness and grief as well as helping his little girl cope with the loss of her mommy. Being a firefighter sometimes doesn’t help…
Sarah moved to a new town to get her new start.
Her goals are to stay for only 6 months, get a place to live and a job to do. But what is she hiding?
It was an amazing news when I saw this book published.
I’ve previously read it and I knew it needed to be out for more fans to read.
Perfect plot, very well written, super engaging, and intense.
It had it all, from perfect characters to a sweet little girl that will melt your hearts.
Of course that not all is a bed of roses and that made this story even more perfect.
Chapter after chapters I felt like I was living the story. I was feeling like the characters were and it was perfect
I know that I’ve repeated this word lots of times but I’m going to say it again. Perfect.
Now I was left wanting more.
Terra… Please don’t take to long.
I need more. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
