Good Start and Then….
I quite enjoyed the sparks that flew when the hero and heroine met. At first, it looks like it might have been a meeting of minds, but then the hero ruins all with his chauvinistic attitude. I enjoyed watching the early sparring between them. But then things got out of hand very quickly. The hero’s brother decides that the two of them just need to stay in a room until they work out their differences. They start fighting, of course. But then things get intimate. I mean really intimate,, and with how they had been sniping at each other the whole way along, it just didn’t make sense at all. And the way the heroine phrases some things—oh, my gosh! I just didn’t buy any of it. It might be one thing to go from disliking each other to starting to appreciate the other person’s good side and not just being aggravated by their faults. But it is quite another thing to jump into intimacy like that. This book just did not work for me.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
it was ok a little slow but good. Emma and William can’t see eye to eye but once they were left alone something happened that made them look at each other in different light. :At a ball where a gossiper came upon Emma and William alone together, she spread scandalous lies about Emma making her life miserable for weeks and weeks. All her friends left her. She decides to take a trip to Scotland. When William ends up realizing he was in love with Emma, who was secretly in love with him, decides to follow her and convince her they are right for each other

Emma and William met in Book 1, at Kitty and James’s wedding. She is Kitty’s best friend, he is James’s brother. They could not be more opposite if they tried. Their heated debate about women should act leads to being confined together to learn how to be civil toward one another that leads to Kitty’s societal ruin. What happens after that turns into the greatest lesson either will learn: a spirited woman is someone who should be valued by the man strong enough to appreciate and encourage her spirit, and a man who’s able to not only appreciate but accept that kind of woman is a man worth loving and loving well.
I liked this book better than the first, though Emma reluctance that William’s eventual acceptance of who she is was a little much for me at times. Emma and William’s interactions are gold. There is so much passion and fire between them it makes their love burn that much brighter. A fantastic read that will warrant a re-read in the future.

This book captured my attention right from the start. I loved Emma’s fiery and passionate demeanor, someone who won’t just blindly take what’s given to her and settle for less. William is a little more mild mannered than Emma, but her fire is what attracts him to her. They certainly had chemistry and plenty of sparks between them, but Emma didn’t give her love easily, William had to work for it. This was such an enjoyable and entertaining read. Ms. Miers did a wonderful job of making the story come alive. I had such a fun time reading it. A definite must read!

Ms. Miers brings us a spicy tale set in the Victorian time period about how first impressions may not be a true reflection of a person. I really liked William and the amount of growth he was able to show during the length of this book. I had a harder time liking Emma simply because she was so stubborn in her belief that no man would ever allow her to express her opinions or understand them, least of all William so she was willing to completely dismiss him (after having a very intimate interaction with him) and then proceed to mope because she realized that she loved him and he was a good person after all! She then decides that the only logical thing to do is to run off to the Highlands of Scotland (at the beginning of winter, no less) and becomes angry when William shows up at the train station to tell her that he loves her and is willing to give her all the time she needs if she will just let him accompany her on her trip only to have Emma not even let him say what he needs so desperately to tell her and brushes him off once again. Once she boards the train and is alone with her maid she once again bemoans the fact that she loves him and is going to be away from him and how he does not love her, blah, blah, blah! What!? I will not give any more away about how things end but I think the book could have been so much better if Emma had been a person that I could have empathized with more and therefore I would have then felt she deserved her HEA with William! I enjoyed the book but I just could not give it the usual five-stars that I normally give to a book written by Fiona Miers.

I very much enjoyed this intriguing story. Emma is not your normal Lady of the time. She does what makes her happy. William does what is expected. I loved how everything came together in this book. I couldn’t put it down, I had to find out if Emma got all she wanted.

The second book in The Seymour Siblings’ series, a well written Victorian Regency short story. I was not putting this book down until I finished reading it. Lady Emma and Lord Will Seymour’s story, a man who believes that women should be seen and not hear, and a women that believes the opposite. They will have some very good discussions, that will have them having their ups and downs. I enjoyed seeing this story come together. Not stuffy like many historical romance novels…
Really like this author’s style & this one didn’t disappoint. Not quite what’s expected of a lady the heroine was smart, strong willed & not such an innocent as was expected of that era, especially in the circles within which she found herself due to her connections to titled gentry. She did not entertain fools nor rakish boors & disliked the fact that the men in the elitist circle in which she moved did not seek a woman of strong opinions which she was inclined to voice. The hero was vexed & then perplexed & then stressed to learn of her leaving for Scotland. Uncharacteristically he set after her to claim her as his one true love. Sweet, funny & sexy, a great combo. I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.
This book was a delightful surprise.
Will and Emma: two forceful personalities that will fight till surrendering to love.
I found only a fault: Emma’s odd, unreal modern behavior regarding sex. Society’s answer is very real.
“ I only want you to be happy.”
Our heroine Emma was something else she is full of passion is full of daring and so feisty I just loved her. William is her dear friend’s brother-in-law and she is attracted to him but Emma is not a lady to give in to such attraction. I loved the interaction between Emma and William she gives him no quarter so good. I was wonder at how the author ended chapter 19 it was good but… Then the epilogue I got all my questions answered. I love this charmer and I am so glad to spend time with it. This one put a smile on my face. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
When opposites attract, enemies can become lovers!
by sewsummore
Emma was a beautiful young woman who believed in the equality of the sexes. This belief put her in direct opposition to her best friend’s new brother-in-law, William. She was candid and outspoken, and something Lord William disliked in a woman who should know her places subordinate to a man. An unlikely pair to fall in love, but they did. I enjoyed this historical romance where enemies became lovers. I admired Emma’s spirit and found much humor in reading about William’s change of heart and his determination to convince Emma of his love.

Emma is an unconventional young woman in Victorian England. She is outspoken, intelligent and sure of her position in life. At her best friend’s wedding she meets the groom’s younger brother, Will. They are attracted at first sight, but Will grew up in the belief that women are weak in thinking, should be guided and in return the women would respect the man and be thankful for any attention. A form of fatal attraction forms between them and they dance around their love for each other, scared of giving up their believes.
A situation, where both sides need to give, but it is a long time in the coming.
An entertaining and enjoyable story.

Emma and William are opposite as she is passionate and he is reserved but when they met at a wedding no one expected the outcome. Loved how she was determined to marry for love and while it took him a while to come to that conclusion it was all that you could hope for in the end.
What a feisty heroine Emma is. She is gutsy, no nonsense, practical, sensible, daring, forthright, opinionated, well-traveled, intelligent, loyal and loving. She also was of the opinion that in marriages the husband and wife ought to be equals and discuss everything that affected the family. When she first laid eyes on William, she found him attractive. Then he opened his mouth and they became bitter enemies. William was her dearest friend’s brother-in-law. But Emma would not be cowed by this chauvinistic man who believed a woman married to serve her husband, be seen and not heard. Technically William had a solid character. His mother taught him one way and his father another. It was his father’s teachings he lived by. But when Emma challenged him, she turned his world upside down. Emma was unlike any woman William had ever met. But when the gloves came down their lips met and their actions were of two consenting adults. When a gossiper came upon Emma and William alone together, she spread scandalous lies about Emma making her life miserable for weeks and weeks. All her friends left her. William tried what he could to help Emma but she resisted any effort. Finally, Emma got tired of being gossiped about, whispered about and propositioned as a lightskirt. She decided to go away for some time. To free herself from these petty people. William did not know what to do. An entertaining story of two people who really did belong together. I do recommend it.

From the very beginning, I loved Emma’s fire and passion. William, of course, took a little longer to become a man worthy of Emma (but don’t most men take a little while to grow up?). I was not surprised by anything in the story, as it pretty much followed the story outlined in the synopsis. I enjoyed the story, and enjoyed getting to see little bits of Kitty/James as their lives were intertwined with Emma/William’s. I look forward to reading Lizzie’s story in a few months!

Cognizant of the instant realization and charged atmosphere, showcasing the intimidating trials and challenging tribulations, along with a bevy of shocking twists and wicked turns, drawing our characters deeper than they could have ever envisioned. Braided, bound and entangled, imparting the explosive ups and agonizing downs, grounding in it’s simplicity and awe-inspiring in it’s depth. The characters, banter, interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits, blend and flow, transforming into genuinely charismatic personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and depictions creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Incredible job Fiona, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.
Loved the story. Fiona is an excellent author. Story of an independent Lady Emma and an arrogant Lord William. They are at odds since she has her own opinions and he has been brought up to be Lord and master of all women. Unfortunately they fall in love immediately but don’t accept it and are still at odds. It takes them several months and Lady Emma leaving England for him to finally accept his love and her as she is.

Within the first few pages, I literally said to myself, “That’s right, girl! Tell him like it is!” I loved the book! Right from the beginning, chemistry sparked between the characters in a realistic way. They didn’t rush into things (well, kind of… but I don’t want to spoil it). And my biggest sigh of relief is that Emma (the heroine) respected herself enough to hold out for what she wanted: love! She literally says, “I am yet to meet a man brave enough to court me.” This should be the mantra for all women! Be yourself! Have self-respect! Settle for nothing less than the [realistic] man of your dreams!!! (Everyone has flaws; were all human, so follow your realistic dreams.) She didn’t just rush into the hero’s arms because he gave her attention! I absolutely loved this book!!!
And the hero! Yassss! The poet Lord Byron and Lord William (the hero) could both be described as being “mad, bad, and dangerous to know….” They’re both cads, but I LOVED Lord William! He was a cold cad who had to work for Emma’s love! Finally! A romance novel that gifts the reader a whirlwind plot with a feminist (read, self-respecting) heroine and a hero who shows wonderful character development.
