Ragnarök is here. The end of the world is eating away at Asgard as well as the human world until there is nothing left but ice and darkness.I’m supposed to stop it—it’s my literal fate, thanks to a meddling Norn and an MIA prophet. Me, and the five alpha gods destined to claim me as theirs.Only now, three of my would-be mates are captured, held in Valhalla until I and their brothers present Loki … present Loki in chains to stand trial for treason. He’s the God of Mischief, the Betrayer who sold out gods and humans alike for his own, twisted goals… And if we want a chance to save our loved ones, we will have to out-trick the trickster.
But magic or no, I am just a human. And I am an omega. My two companions are my only hope of defeating Loki, but their rivalry threatens to tear us apart.
They are both fated to claim me. Neither wants to share me with the other.

Have always been a fan Of Nora Ash. Her books constantly keeps the fire burning with every book that has been read. I was constantly left wanting more and ready for the next installment.

Excellent plan to focus on 2 of the alpha mates in this book, made it easier to focus and learn about Annabel, Bjarni and Modi instead of complicating it with character development of additional 3 other alphas. Loved the fight scene at the end – reminded me of D&D role playing
Sex is definitely a tricky one – can be questionable depending on individual likes, but it’s on the HOT scale for me.

I voluntarily read an arc of this book for an honest review. I loved the first book in this series but I have to say with this one? Mind blown! The emotion this author drew out of me was unbelievable. The story wove together incredibly and I couldn’t read fast enough! The characters meld in a way that is at first jarring in their intensity and then so satisfying. I will say, however, I’m so mad at this author for that ending. I’m frantic for the next book! This was such a great book!

*voluntarily and honestly reviewed the ARC I received from Booksprout*
Nora Ash usually gets me hot and bothered with her dominating Alphas, but these things only ever work for me when both parties are heavily involved. If there’s any doubt (cause honestly what else would the drama be about?) it usually only comes from one of the people, and it’s a case of trusting what they feel and why. If there’s an instant attraction, that’s usually explained by a thing of Fate. It makes you believe that some people are just meant to be and when they act the way they do, they’re puzzles that just fit so perfectly.
But with this? I don’t know. Annabelle kept having doubts and the way she acted made me think that she honestly wanted nothing to do with her mates or the bonds. I bought into it, and it made it harder to think that there was actually any genuine emotions going around. It made it bleh for this hopeless romantic. And then add on the dubious consent and the break downs and the constant comparison of the bonds and their own free will, and I just felt like I was reading about a group of people who were getting together because Fate’s bond told them to, like “Hey, I’m supposed to like you, but you know what? You’re actually pretty cool.” It’s extremely hard to get into it when it feels like they’re finding reasons to want to accept this.
Maybe I haven’t been reading enough, but just based on being a reader who hasn’t had much material to go through, I’m going to say that this was an okay read for me. Not the worst by far, but not thee usual great. Ash’s books are all about instincts and sex for me, and when one sex scene involved something that turns me off like a hot tea kettle in the Arctic, the drama was all I could focus on. So the lack of sexy time plus the constant bad feels made for a less than enthusiastic time for me. I still look forward to the third book because not maybe can pull off the dominating Alphas and brute storyline, and if you enjoy dark romance and anything by Ash, this is something to check out.
No spoilers!
I almost didn’t finish the book.
It all started quite confusing, as action picked up right from the previous book’s end. Since I read a lot and have in my list many story lines and characters that I (try to) follow, I have forgotten what exactly happened at the end of book 1. So first chapters were like what-is-going-on-really? for me, what happened before? I think it would be better for readers if authors included short recap at the beginning of next book in the series, it will help tremendously. Otherwise one spends some time trying to reconnect with the characters once again.
Second problem I had is the quest the group has embarked on. Reasoning behind Odin‘s decision was unclear so it looked hardly believable to me.
But after straggle at the beginning the story picked up, little snippets of past actions helped me to figure out the storyline and it turned out quite interesting overall.
There’s lots and lots of (dirty) sex, but it’s a kind of trademark of the author for me so is expected.
So if you want to know what happens next to Annabel and her mates, understand whether Ragnarok is upon us, read some hot shmexy scenes, I definitely recommend. But check quickly beforehand the book 1 not to end up confused.
Aaaaand… there’s a cliffhanger here too, so enter at your own risk 🙂
