I’d always found Irish men to be irresistible.
And Devin?
He’s the hottest one of them all.
I had my chance with him.
Heck, I even have a baby with him.
A four-year old boy.
My only secret.
I lost my V-card to Devin on St. Patrick’s night four years ago.
My biggest mistake was thinking that I could trust him.
Hot men like him are trouble.
Besides, he made it clear to me that he hates … kids.
Hates.
Fast-forward to when he meets our little boy.
A meeting that I tried my hardest to avoid.
I might have expected them to get along but… best buddies?
Devin is supposed to hate kids, remember?
It’s only a matter of time until he finds out his birthday.
And when he does…
Oh boy!
A full-length second chance secret baby romance featuring a single mom who’ll do anything to protect her sweet little boy. The perfect HEA and absolutely no cliff-hanger! ‘An Irish Affair’ is a part of the Heart of Hope series but stands alone. Books do not have to be read in order.

I absolutely loved reading An Irish Affair by Ajme Williams. It was such a fantastic story about Serena and Devin. They definitely had a special connection and heated passion in their encounter and then Devin disappeared for work and came back after five years. Serena definitely had to grow up fast and she has become a very successful party planner. Their story is so good. It still has some very steamy scenes between them again and some meddling parents make their connection complicated. I love Serena’s character because she is a fighter and when it comes to Devin, she has to keep him at a distance and he knows something is not right. I highly recommend reading this book if you like steamy scenes and a happily ever after. There were some parts that had me wondering if things were going to work out between them. It has wonderful characters and overall it is just a great book.

Wow! I totally love this story. Devin is sexy and determined but thinks he feels too much. Serena is always planning for the worst. She hides her feelings because she is scared of getting hurt. Great love story that is steamy and sexy. The characters are amazing and we get good insight into what they are thinking throughout the book. This is what makes the story better. I feel like I really got to know the characters.

This was an interesting story of Devin and Serena “Irish Affair”. They meet at the diner Serena works at and have a week of splendor until Devin has to leave for Europe and asks Serena to go with him she says yes. Then there is a knock on her dorm door it’s Katherine Devin mother she tells Serena that she can’t go with Devin as he was recently in the arms if another woman and shows her a picture of him with a blond on his arm. Katherine try’s to payoff Serena but she refuses the money but hands her a business card just in case she needs anything. Then Serena finders out she’s pregnant. Four years later these two run into each other but Serena has a secret and she doesn’t want Devin to find out. This is an amazing book that captivates you from the beginning until the end, if your looking for a book that intrigues your mind and you can’t put it down, then this is the one for you. I started reading this book at 10:00 am in the morning and had to put it down, when I reached chapter 27, at 2:00 am the next day . . . As soon as I woke up the next day I was back reading. I as so eager to see the outcome . . . .
We start with Serena on St Patrick’s Day 5 years before the actual story begins. Serena has lost her virginity to a man she has just met. She had been his waitress in a chic diner and invited him on a pub crawl. This night turned into a week of their seeing each other with Serena choosing him the sites of New York from her view.
He needs to go to Europe. His parents are sending him because they feel he needs to start learning the family business. He asks her to go and admits he doesn’t want to end what they have. She finally says yes but doesn’t know how to tell her parents. When a knock sounds on her dorm room door the lady standing in the hall tells her she is Katherine Roarke, Devin’s mother.
Katherine tells her she doesn’t want her to go to Europe with Devin. She isn’t the first girl she has had to talk to, shows her a picture taken recently of Devin with his arm around a blonde-haired Evelyn . . . could this be the Evie he has talked about? His mother tells her she is prepared to compensate Serena for the trouble and Serena tells her no. Katherine gives her the look that Serena might be the only one to refuse the money. Then Katherine gives her a business card and tells her to call her if there is anything, she can help her with, like getting a job when she graduates in May.
She doesn’t respond to Devin’s calls or texts that night or the next day. She didn’t show up at the airport when he left. Within a month, she begins to feel like maybe she’s able to put him in the past. And then she discovered I was pregnant.
With this, the book moves to the present, 5 years after Serena and Devin’s affair.

Any book that uses my favourite word within the thousands of other words is a winner for me!!! This is the second book I’ve read from Ajme Williams and again it had me hooked early on then sent me through every emotion; making me want to scream at, cry with, bang the heads together of, drink with, and ultimately be friends with both main characters. The story of hot fast love stifled by family and distance twists and turns and keeps you on the hook.
I literally could not put the book down and failed to feed the family in favour of reading the book to it’s HEA.
One complaint is that it made me cry so much! Once I started I just couldn’t stop so be warned, it’s a weepy!!

You can feel the tug of war on Devin and Serena’s emotions however you’ll also feel the determination on never giving up on hope. There’s plenty of drama, secrets and lies, stumbling blocks and blazing passion. It’s the evocative kind of book that I hunt for.
