Can he build a future, when he’s forgotten his past?
Jared has fought hard to achieve something close to ‘normal’. Needing to get away from his well-meaning but suffocating family, he follows a message he wrote on a scrap of paper to a new city, hoping to find a missing piece of his past.
When Kyrone, a cocky pole dancer at the Heaven and Hell Club, saunters into the tattoo parlour Jared works … saunters into the tattoo parlour Jared works in, his life is turned upside down again. A passionate one night stand turns into something unexpected for both men. But life is never simple as they work out if they can have a future beyond what has been forgotten.
Forgotten is an MM romance with hurt/comfort, a small age gap, and two men who need to learn to be true to themselves. It is the second book in the Heaven and Hell Club series and, whilst it can be read as a standalone, works better if read after Broken.

It took me a little bit to get into this one at first and by about 25% I wasn’t sure I was going to keep going, but I’m so glad that I did. When I hit the 30% mark, I was in there until the end. Kyrone was such a great character. He was so good to Jared. Patient, understanding, and loving. He was there for the long haul, and you could tell. His devotion to Jared was wonderful. Jared’s strength and determination were heartfelt. I enjoyed his character a lot. There were quite a few questions answered with this book as it pertains to Jag’s past, which was a very nice surprise. If you’ve been following this series, you’ll know what I mean. If you aren’t and you’re looking at this, you do need to read “Broken” first as the characters overlap and it’s an ongoing storyline. This ended up being a great story and I do recommend giving it a try.
Heaven and Hell Club book one, Broken, made me cry for both heroes, who I adored. This book didn’t feel as intense, but it definitely made me cry, too. I have a friend with a brain injury, so the struggles that Jared went through felt so real to me. I cared so much about this brave young man. How lucky that he met cocky, flirty Kyrone, the exotic dancer who would bring love and happiness to his life. I loved how Kyrone became someone so supportive and devoted to the man he was falling for. For his part, Jared made Kyrone look at his future in a whole new way. These men were so perfect together, and I loved them both. I was very happy with this story.
A story of loss and redemption.
Jared has suffered a traumatic injury and it’s left an irreparable mark on his life.
He’s left in the aftermath struggling to come to grips with his new reality.
Kyrone is a tattoo artist working in the shop Jared goes to for a tattoo.
Immediately sparks fly between them.
I loved the tenderness and care with which Kyrone treated Jared.
Their connection from the past was extremely difficult to see unfolding.
Am emotionally compelling story about the healing power of love.
There’s a very important lesson reaching from the pages of : that you should always be yourself and do what makes you happy, even if that means not conforming to expectations or not fitting in with the crowd.
It was a lesson that Jared tried to impart to Kyrone, after holding strong onto it as a rule after his accident. I was in awe with Jared’s resilience when his medical conditions were doing their worst to weaken him. It was inspiring to see how, time and time again, he managed to dig out the strength to live as normal as possible, on his own conditions. It also made me so happy to see how, when he met Kyrone, he allowed himself to lean on the other man.
Their story is beautiful. Once again Colette Davison has broken my heart to pieces, to then put it back together. I pretty much doubt this author is even capable of writing fluffy stories. But, like always, and now Jared and Kyrone, her characters are real and end up being friends. Friends that, by pouring their troubles into the pages made me feel an active part of their lives, and alongside them cry, laugh and cheer for their accomplishments.
Loved it.

Oh my heart, what a truly amazing and special story!
I loved this story! It’s so raw and heartwarmingly real and honest. I think Jared and Ky are now etched on my heart alongside Jag and Michael (from Broken).
I loved the continuation of the Heaven and Hell Club series and seeing all the favorites again! This story is honest with real life and the somewhat harsh reality of a traumatic brain injury. I could feel Jared’s suffering, frustration, and pain, all while he was trying to build his new life and come to terms with his accident and lost memory. I both loved and hated that Jared was so intrinsically linked to Jag’s story even though he couldn’t remember. It’s sad to see the other characters grieve for a life gone even though the person is still alive. Colette embraced this aspect with such passion, compassion and care you feel every emotion and don’t give up hope that he’ll remember.
Now for a bit of a spoiler… (just between the ***)

I loved Colette’s honesty when it comes to a brain injury and the fact that so much is unknown. This story is REAL and Jared is able to grow, heal, recover and get his “happy ending” even without ever remembering. I feel that Colette did this so well, that you feel for Jared but come to accept his reality and that fact that it’s not a fairy tale and you don’t just wake up one day with all your memories back. I loved the growth and constant learning Jared went through to accept that he would likely never remember and how he adapted to build a new life for himself while grieving the unknown.

Now Ky is a fantastic character, so passionate and caring right from the start. I loved his strength and compassion for Jared without pity. He stands by him with fierce loyalty even though they don’t know each other that long. You can feel the chemistry fly off the page with these two and I loved that Ky always treated Jared as an equal, never less. Their story is a challenging one but its filled with so much compassion, care, and love, it made me laugh, cry and fall for these characters as if they were real. I highly recommend the whole series but I think this one is one of my favs now. Truly beautiful!!!

Audiobook Review
Narrator: Piers Ryman
4.5 Stars
What a heart-wrenching yet beautiful story. How horrible it would be to have lost even the most basic idea of who you were before the moment you woke up in a hospital. That’s exactly what happened to Jared. He leaves his family to try to have a life, and he meets Kyrone.
The narrator, Piers Ryman does another wonderful job bringing Colette Davison’s characters to life in this story, which is the second in the series. The amount of emotion he put in his performance, not only while voicing the main characters, but also the side characters, was inspiring. I felt what the characters were feeling.
Colette Davison is a talented author. The way she writes draws you into the story, engulfing you in the details, and makes you feel like a part of the story. I could literally feel Jared’s heartache. I absolutely loved this story, and the characters. I highly recommend listening to it. It’s the kind of story that stays with you, making you glad you listened to it.
A great book about a troubled young man called Jared who’s working at a local tattoo shop and a very confident pole dancer Kyrone.
Jared has a secret health issue that he’s working hard to overcome and without any friends or family in the area Kyrone decides to take on the chief friend title.
The ups and downs and his past comes up time again and Piers brings all the characters to life.
I would recommend this book, lots of hurt/comfort and you really want to protect Jared.
I would read these books in order as certain characters are defined in the earlier books. But it can be read as a stand alone.
Audiobook review:
Story: 5
Performance: 5
While you could probably enjoy Forgotten without reading Broken first, I strongly recommend that you don’t. Here’s why, #1 Broken is a fantastic story and #2 even though Jag is not a primary character in Forgotten, the background information contained in Broken will really enhance your enjoyment of Forgotten. I am very glad that I listened to Broken first.
The blurb for this book is good so I’ll try not to recap the story too much. Once again, Piers Ryman did a fantastic job with the audiobook. The different voices he used made it easy to distinguish which character was speaking.
Kyrone is a dancer at the Heaven and Hell Club. He’s a fun-loving guy who’s a bit full of himself but not in a bad way. He meets Jared while getting the word Adonis tattooed on his chest; Jared is an apprentice at Ink Envy.
Jared was badly injured in an accident and lost his memory. He still suffers from debilitating headaches but is determined to make his own way and hold down a job.
Kyrone is a wonderful caregiver and he wants to be with Jared but Jared hates being dependent on him. Forgotten affected me in different ways that Broken but it was still a very emotional story for me to listen to. Jared is a really brave character; the things he has to deal with regarding his health made me so sad but he is also an inspiration.
I’m having a bit of trouble finding the right words to describe how much I loved this story. I listened to it while I wasn’t feeling too well and it really helped me to forget my aches and pains. I loved everything about it and would love to read more books set in this world.
A copy of Forgotten was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.
This is Book #2 in the Heaven and Hell Club. It can be read as a standalone. Kyrone is an exotic dancer. Jared is a tattoo artist. When these two meet sparks fly. Jared is recovering from an accident that has left him with permanent amnesia. Kyrone has a huge heart, even though he’s pretty much a loner. Jared is what he didn’t know was missing. This is a story that shows you no one gets an easy ride. I loved these characters. COLETTE DAVISON just gets better with every book she writes. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!!
Love this book and this series! This book can be read as a standalone but really should be enjoyed after reading Broken (book 1 in the series). Have tissues handy, this beautifully written story is very emotional and will tug at your heart strings. Jared and Kyrone are so sweet together. Jared wants to be independent and take care of himself after his accident even if he doesn’t remember anything before it. He meets Kyrone and what started out as just a hook up turned into so much more. Kyrone is so loving and caring of Jared. He helps Jared learn he doesn’t have to go through things alone, and that’s it’s okay to have someone to lean on. I love that we find out more of Jared and Jag’s past. Sometimes it takes a great tragedy to find out where we belong and to have our happy ending. Even though Jared and Jag’s lives turned out very different then what they thought they were going to be, they learn to come to terms with their past so they can be friends in the present.
I highly recommend this book and I can’t wait for more.
*I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book*
“Forgotten” by Colette Davison is the second book in the ‘Heaven and Hell Club’ series and features Kyrone, an exotic dancer and stripper, and Jared, an apprentice tattoo artist. The instant attraction between them is undeniable, but neither has figured out what his dream for the future is, since the past burdens each so heavily. Maybe together they will find a way to reach for freedom.
This contemporary gay romance is connected to the first in the series, “Broken,” but I was able to read it as a stand-alone story without any problem. Given the author’s note at the end of this story, I suspect the first book is much more angst-ridden and painful, and not quite what I’m ready for right now.
I enjoyed watching the connection flourish between the confident (dare I say cocky?) Kyrone, who is comfortable in his skin and the somewhat self-effacing Jared, whose background is gradually revealed. Once I learned about his handicap, I kept wincing at what I imagined might be revealed to be the cause, so I was apprehensive through some of the story and oddly relieved when the origin was revealed. Although subsequent revelations were still a bit dismaying, I still breathed a sigh of relief as the story unfolded.
I love stories that make me invested in the characters even as I learn a bit about other cultures and locales. Getting a chance to armchair travel while rooting for folks to get their happy for now ending is a nice bonus. I particularly like the message of learning to be comfortable in your own skin and living one’s life for oneself, rather than to fulfill someone else’s expectations. Richard Bach’s story used to be a favorite of mine as well, and I’m going to have to look for my copy, lol. Enough backstory is provided that I will eventually read the first book when I’m prepared to have my tissues in hand and learn the other side of the revelations from this book.
I will definitely be looking for other works by this author and I hope to see more of this couple’s journey in the future.
A copy of this title was provided for review
The biggest asset of this title are the characters. What the author did with amazing craft is present two very extraordinary characters, whose emotions are very well presented in the story! I did not expect the story to impact my own emotions as much as it did!
Colette Davison’s Forgotten is the second book in the Heaven and Hell Club series. This contemporary m/m romance delivers an emotional story filled with hurt/comfort, lots of feelings and realizations. Drama and steam holds the reader captive as the story unfolds.
Jared and Kyrone are wonderful characters that captured my attention and heart. They fit so well together and their story is so beautifully written here.
OH.MY.GOD this book! This book killed me! I couldn’t put it down! I stayed up late to finish it and it was so worth it. This book had everything. Tears, smiles, sweet moments, steamy moments, thought provoking moments. Kyrone and Jared were so amazing together, they warmed my heart. Jared’s story broke me but it was so good to read. Do you ever feel like you want to hug a book because it’s really good? I wanted to hug Forgotten. I don’t want to spoil anything but I really loved how Broken, the first book in the series, and Forgotten were connected. There is a big scene in Forgotten, and you’ll know what I’m talking about when you read it, that was so satisfying. I was holding my breath when I read it.
It’s one of those books that you just keep thinking about for days after you finish them. It really touched me and I loved every word. It’s my new favorite book from the author.
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
