A wealthy rebel. A hot marine. A man on the run.
I get it.
Jace Johnson wants his privacy… catapulting my career.
The problem?
- Getting to him in the first place
- Not getting distracted by that chiseled jawline and rock hard abs
- Keeping my reporting professional
- Oh, did I mention those abs?
I’m not sure how things got so complicated.
All I wanted was to interview him.
What if he makes my story but breaks my heart?

Yvette is a journalist, but she has only been with the magazine for three months, so she hasn’t been given any great stories to write. Although the next one coming, might change that, and it will help her to be more of an unknown reporter, seeing the target Jace Johnson is wary of reporters. Will Yvette end up writing the story? Or will Jace’s charm win her over? I loved this interesting romance, Jace had no shortage of female attention, so getting his attention was a challenge for Yvette. I liked the banter between them, and how Yvette had to be tricky to not tip him off.
This was a really good read. Yvette is a journalist and is tasked to doing an article on Jace. He has never given an interview and doesn’t trust journalists. She is willing to do what it takes to get the story, but what happens when feelings get involved? These two had an instant connection and some hot chemistry. You need to read this to find out what happens. This was a great story and I loved the characters and I can’t wait to read more from this author.
Highly entertaining, action packed, sexy and fun adventure, very quick yet fun read! Really enjoyed this story from beginning to end.
A short, sweet romance.
Yvette, a journalist got an assignment to write a story about a billionaire – Jace Johnson – that just left the military.
Jace is a good guy that keeps to him self. He doesn’t like journalists.
The characters were likeable and the storyline was good, but a bit naive.

Jace Johnson, an ex-Marine and rebel from his family, is needed for an exclusive interview. Yvette, a journalist, is selected to do the interview. They meet on Jace’s terms and become somewhat of an item until the truth is revealed. A poignant story about love and lies.
My first read in the series and author and it doesn’t disappoint. I loved Jace’s character although rich he was an easy going and likable and his military background just made his character hotter. Yvette was just the perfect character for Jace and their chemistry was hot. An enjoyable read from start to finish, it was fast paced and entertaining. Can’t wait for the next book.
Another fantastic romance by Ashlee!
Ashlee hits it out of the park with this fated romance of love where you least expect it. Yvette is tasked to write a story about Jace, a former marine who stays out of the limelight of his wealthy family. So when Jace keeps bumping into Yvette, he discovers there is something about Yvette that gets through his defenses. What will happen between the two with Yvette’s story on Jace about to be published? You have to read to find, out and will read the book in one sitting as the plot just draws you in! I also loved the Monty Python reference “Tis but a scratch.”
Jace is a rebel but the right kind of rebel. He doesn’t like Yvette because of her profession at first but you can’t deny their attraction and there are sparks. The story moves forward pretty quickly but it doesn’t detract from wanting to see Jace and Yvette work out their relationship.

You just know…. that drama is going to hit the fan when a journalist follows the recusive rebel son of a billionaire. Yvette is hired to stalk.. a mean follow Jace and get an interview with him. He hates journalists so you know that drama is about to happen when he finds out Yvette is one and not who she says she is. They have great chemistry and an instant connection. A really fun fast-paced novella. Was perfect for lunchtime.
This was a very good read. Jace & Yvette generated lots of sparks as their relationship evolved and their story unfolded. This is a fast but fun read that leaves you satisfied and looking forward to the next book in this series. This is my frank and freely posted review.
This is Book 2 of The Johnson Brothers Series
This is the story of Jace & Yvette. Jace had just returned from his deployment overseas. Yvette was a journalist who worked for a magazine, a rich people’s tabloid. Her next assignment was to interview Jace Johnson. Jace hates journalists. They were always wanting to interview him. Therein is the problem. Jace is a rebel and a loner. This is a fast moving story, but thorough in its content. It’s also well written. Looking forward to the third book in this series.
