5 Finally Seeing What’s Right In Front of Him Stars!!!
I feel like I’ve been waiting for Ben’s book since I read the first book in this series… it’s totally been worth the wait!! Ms. Hanks has given us a romance that has been a long time in the coming and watching Ben and Charlie finally seeing the love they have for each other was beautiful while at the same time frustrating and funny.
I say frustrating because these two for the longest time refused to see how they’re looking at each other as more than just friends. And I totally get it, Charlie is a girl that grew up not having the same kind of love that Ben Dimarco is surrounded by so she’s not really sure she’s worthy of the love she so desperately desires. My heart truly hurt for this girl. She’s been in several of this family’s books but I didn’t have a true understanding and appreciation for her until this book when things are revealed!
And Ben… the youngest Dimarco brother has been so hurt by someone that as much as he loves being with Charlie he’s not sure he can give her everything she needs because his heart has been shredded! I loved how their romance grew slowly in this book. The dynamics of this family is one that I would’ve loved to be part of. They look out for each other and they’re bound and determined to make these two realize what’s clearly evident to everyone else.
This book is rich with the love the Dimarcos are so good at giving. They’re loud and in each other’s business but I don’t think they’d have it any other way! Ms. Hanks has given me a family and books that I will turn to time and time again!!
I can not say enough about my love of this series. This family is just the best. All of the characters are fantastic….it’s a family that any of us would love to be a part of. Charlie has been part of this family from book 1 so I was so happy to finally get my hands on her book. I knew she and Ben belonged together from the beginning and I am so happy they got their HEA. This story has some twists and turns and I got really mad at Charlie a few times but I knew that Jennifer Hanks would give me what I needed and she delivered! One of my favorite things in this book was the development of the fatherly relationship between Charlie and Ben’s dad Jack. Jack is such a great father and it was so heart warming to see that fatherly bond develop between Charlie and Jack. 5 stars!
Charlie by Jennifer Hanks is the seventh book in The Dimarco series, but the first I read. This can definitely be read as a standalone and enjoyed, I did, but I am excited to go back and read the story of the other family members as well. In Charlie, we meet Charlie and Ben. Charlie and Grace have been best friends for years and is a part of her family and Ben is one of Grace’s older brothers. Charlie knew Ben was the one for her from the first time she met him. But for Ben, she was like a sister, right?
But when it looks like she is finally moving on, Ben begins to realize Charlie was always more than he ever let himself realize. But is it too late? Charlie has never felt like she belonged anywhere. No one ever picked her. She was sweet and caring, but vulnerable and hurting. Ben was determined and strong, but a bit clueless. But once it mattered, truly mattered, he was all in. But can they truly have their happily ever after or was it too late from the start? Charlie by Jennifer Hanks was both a sweet romance and had a bit of intrigue and suspense.

Happy reading!
It’s finally time for the youngest son and the womanizer of the group to finally embrace his feelings and put the past behind him.
In high school, Ben was sure Jackie was the woman for him. Heck, everyone else though so as well. Until Ben catches Jackie with his best friend and has vowed that he won’t give a woman that kind of power over him or his feelings again. At least that’s what he tries to tell himself, but there is always Charlie right by his side. He’s always had feelings towards Charlie, beginning with a sister/brother type of love, but one that soon grew into an adult type of love that goes well beyond their friendship.
Charlie has been in love with Ben Dimarco since she was 15 years old. But after a decade of only being put in the little sister category with him and watching him go through the women to try and put Jackie behind him, she’s finally ready to move on and finally get her life on track.
However, now Ben is finally ready to confront the feelings he has kept locked up for Charlie. He never wanted to put their friendship at risk by confronting his feelings, but for him to keep the locked up and watch her try to move on with another man is not something Ben is prepared to do.
But their relationship will be put through a tough test when Ben is charged with sexual assault. With the Dimarco family behind Ben, will they be able to help Ben and get the charges dropped before they completely change his life?
I think one of my favorite parts of this story was the relationship between Jack and Charlie. Honestly, I would’ve thought we would’ve seen a lot more of the dad and daughter relationship in Grace’s book, but it seems we get it with Jack and Charlie. From the time Charlie’s parents divorced she seemed to fall between the cracks and was left to fend for herself and try to find the love she craved that she felt was no longer there in the family. So for Charlie, Jack is the dad that helps her see that she is worthy of the love that Ben is wanting to give her and that she is worthy of it as well and that not ever relationship is doomed like her parent’s relationship.
This is the first book that I’ve read by this author and I didn’t know what to expect, its a sweet friends to lovers romance book and you this book will have you loving the family and rooting for the lovers.
This book makes you feel a lot of emotions along the way and Ben and Charlie go through so much together and have to face a lot. This book is the seventh in the series but can be read as a stand-alone but I kind if feel like I missed out as I hadn’t read the others in the series. There is drama, love some mystery and hope.
Charlie is a beautiful woman who has had things quite tough and her mother is terrible too, but she’s strong and sweet but the problem is she has always had feelings for Ben. Charlie is Grace’s friend and even though Grace spends a lot of time with the family its like Ben doesn’t even notice the feelings that she has for him.
Ben has had his heart broken by a woman that he thought he was going to live with forever and now its hard for him to trust, to love to accept anything or anyone else in his life. Although he’s always liked Charlie and has always had a spot in his heart for her a bit like a sister and that’s all he sees her as, although that changes when he sees her with someone else and now he’s confused about his own feelings.
Can these two finally see each other and find real love?
(NO SPOILERS )
The chemistry that these characters have is so strong and I was rooting for them both to finally see each other for what there are two people with feelings for one another.
The family is so strong and awesome that you wish they were real too, there is so many of them and yeah there is some conflict between them but they are great. This author really does write deep fantastic characters that really have you feeling for them all. This is the first that I’ve read from this author an I will look forward to reading more from her in the future.
Thank you to the author and publishers for allowing me to read a copy of this copy.
This book is out now.
We finally get Ben’s story and let me tell you it was so worth the wait! It was so good to finally understand all that Ben has been through. And Charlie was just as much of a delight to read as Ben. They grew up together, but never acted on feelings. Now that they are adults, those feelings are coming to a head. You get some angst, you get some mystery, and you get some girlfriend ghost of the past, a recipe for a great book. Of course like every Dimarco book, you get to see everyone again, and of course a family dinner and a celebration are included. I say this all the time, every time I read a Dimarco book, I feel like I got invited to a family reunion.
I met the Dimarco family with this book. AND I have been missing out. I instantly fell in love with this author and her writing. At first, for me, it was slightly hard to follow because I was meeting so many characters. I feel like if I had read the previous ones, this wouldn’t have been an issue.
But the story was amazing. I absolutely loved their relationship and all that comes with it. The twists and turns. The loyalty. The understanding. The strength of the main characters.
Ben was just.. EVERYTHING. I don’t even know that I can adequately describe him. The way he loved her, even from afar. Every girl wants a guy that loves them the way he loves Charlie. And Charlie. Holy smokes. She can stand on her own.
If you want a sweet, steamy, twisty book, GRAB THIS. It is fantastic!!
Charlie and Ben at last! Beautiful touching story. Moving along a difficult journey to the ultimate end to a new beginning. Loved this story.
Charlie by Jennifer Hanks is book 7 in The Dimarco Series. This is the story of Ben Dimarco and Charlie Donovan. I have read (and LOVED!) the previous books, but I did think this could be a standalone book. This is a really good series so you might jut want to read the books in order.
Charlie has always been in love with been from an early age. Charlie is best friends with Ben’s sister and their family has taken her UN-officially as their own because of the lack of care she has had from her family. Charlie has finally come to the conclusion that Ben is never getting over his ex girlfriend nor is he going to see her as anything more than a ‘little sister’. But unknown to Charlie Ben has been seeing her as something more for a long while but just hasn’t made the move toward it. But now is their time to come into their own feelings. I am in love with this author’s writing. It has the strong alpha male characters along with the strong female character. It has the much love family that cares for each other. I would highly recommend this book and her witting!
The final DiMarco brother finally has his turn. What happens when you find your perfect match but spend years denying it. That’s Charlie and Ben. Charlie has known the DiMarco family for a long time being Grace’s best friend and for just as long she has been in love with Ben. Thinking he will never get over his high school ex girlfriend she has tried to put him out of her mind, but now Ben has finally woken up and he is very much like his brothers.
This is such a sweet best friends brother/friends to lovers romance. We have gotten glimpses of their relationship in a couple of the books and things have been hinted at but this book is really about soul mates. Unfortunately for Ben and Charlie things get a little more difficult but they weather the storm and the last DiMarco finds his HEA. I do see a lot of potential for some second generation books though and that’s what I’m hoping was hinted at because honestly there are so many stories I still need, Nick and Maddie and Bailey and Chase and Dex and Callie, and Lets not forgot Bear and Kyle and Striker even Logan and Tucker not to mention all the kiddos. So many wonderful people from this series. The list is long.
***I did receive and advanced readers copy of this book in exchange for my fair and honest review***
