This book is a stand alone, but there are more in books in this collection. I enjoyed each and everyone. I thought the author did a great job in writing stories that held your your interest and kept you guessing what would happen next.
This was a very fun book to read. It did not follow the usual pattern of romance novels which made it that much more interesting.
I loved the story…… sweet, challenging.
Well researched, well written.
Deidre sees a British Sea Captain press her brother into a forced position in the Navy and vows to find him someday to ger retribution. She searches for her brother for many years. She smuggles herself on to the ship sailed by the Captain 13 years later intent on killing him. Christian is British Naval officer to the core who follows orders and has worked his way to Captain of a frigate bound for the Americas.
He tries being nice to her and she keeps trying to kill him but missing until he is able to admit his feelings for her.
Meanwhile his crew hates the new captain and their is a lady of the night on board !
How Christian manages to bing his crew around, save his naval career and fall in love makes for a fun read..
Once they hit Boston a new level of the story begins as Deidre is able to seek help to find her brother from a relative. She manages to find him, lose Christian, refind Christian and eventually live happily ever after with the help of a strange group of friends who defy what family really is Good rainy day book
I loved the characters and the way history was woven skillfully into the story. I very gifted author I will look for more of her books!
One of my favorites of all the books I have read lately. Highly recommend!
After watching the mini series on John Adam’s, our 2nd President, this book was thrilling to read. Great writing.
I loved the main character- the Captain- hated the heroine. She ruined the book for me. But i totally loved everything else about the book. It’s worth reading.
Great story, I loved it
I read so many books but this one definitely stood out. The hero’s character is well defined and more realistic in motivation and action for the time period. I like that the author was not tempted to make the story politically correct and thereby, unrealistic. I admire the conflict between men and women and the discriminations they faced in history. Particularly admired is the accurate portrayal of the navy and naval personnel. This author had a very visual handled description of life on a ship.
If you’re looking for mindless escapism, this will work. Innocent maiden, cold and cutting pirate, secret plot for revenge…it’s a fun book. What earned it only three stars from me was the uneven characterization. Diedre veered from shy innocent maiden to hot vixen to vengeful bitch to wounded puppy to a naval version of Mother Theresa and back again. There didn’t seem to be a linear transformation of any kind. Having said that, it’s a pirate story with hot men and sex! Dive in and go with the flow!
Love her writing, pulls me in right away!
This book had adventure, humor, love, intrigue, loss and, forgiveness. I loved it! 5 stars from me?.
One of my favorite authors. Never miss one of her books. Highly recommended.
