Miami’s hottest property management team is back in action in an all-new mystery! Certified Process Server Jackie Parker’s life is finally on the right track. Her cozy little bungalow is finished, her business is booming, and her relationship with the Dark Prince is better than she ever could have imagined. So what if she’s still living with her ex and her mother who wants them to buy matching … tiny homes? Who cares if Logan is sharing his house with a woman on the run from her abusive husband? No big deal if an onsite manager is stealing rent or tenants are turning tricks on her client’s property. It’s nothing Jackie and the guys haven’t dealt with before.
Until Logan is arrested for murder.
Jackie’s all set to do what she does best and find the real killer. But Logan insists she should stay out of the mix and let the professionals handle it. Sure, Logan wouldn’t be the Dark Prince if he didn’t have some shady dealings. But Jackie knows Logan. He’s a tough guy who will do anything to protect the people he loves. He isn’t truly capable of cold-blooded murder.
Is he?

Jackie Parker’s life is getting complicated. She had a friendly divorce, so she’s living in the same house as her ex husband, Luke, and also working with him and his brother, Logan, as property mangers. She is now seeing Logan, whom she calls Dark Prince because he walks in some grey areas Unfortunately, Logan is charged with murder and Jackie knows he has been keeping her in the dark about something really big. I really enjoyed getting into this mystery, and began to see how their lives became messy and complicated. Jennifer L. Hart’s use of humor added greatly to the story.

I was so excited to revisit the gang from Damaged Goods that I read it in one sitting. I loved the first 3 books of the series so much I couldn’t wait to see what misadventures Jackie, The Dark Prince and Logan would get up to, and they certainly didn’t disappoint. This book had me laughing out loud.

Maintenance is Murder is the fourth entry in Jennifer L. Hart’s delightfully irresistible series. I have loved every book in the series, but Maintenance is Murder tops them all! I laughed to tears and cried a little and couldn’t wait to turn each page. Hilarious, action-packed, emotional, intense, this book has it all and then some.
Both Logan and Luke have secrets that are driving Jackie crazy but there is nothing new about that! Just as Jackie and Logan’s relationship is leveling out danger starts seeking him out, and he is arrested for MURDER. In spite of his many secrets, neither Jackie nor Luke believe that he did it and neither of them can stand back and let anything to happen to anyone one they care about, so they end up in the line of fire, too.
I was so excited to get an ARC of Maintenance is Murder from the author. I always pre-order her books, but I couldn’t wait! It was even better than I expected!!!
What a delight to read about Jackie and Logan again. I have missed them! The last book was supposed to be ‘the end’ but I am so happy Jennifer L. Hart decided to write some more about the Damaged Goods-trio. Because I felt the story was not finished after that book; I had questions and needed to see Jackie and Logan as a couple – finally.
But things are not going as smooth yet. Jackie, Luke and Logan are navigating the new ‘normal’ and Jackie still has to get used to being with Logan and their relationship. And she still has to share the bungalow with Luke until that can be sold.
When Logan is arrested on a murder charge it is obvious Jackie will go sleuthing again. Well, she actually can’t help that she just notices things and has a nose for trouble, right?!
I enjoyed this book so much!
It gave another glimpse of Logan (still not enough… wish we could get more info about his past) and I also loved the special moments between them, their honesty and how good he knows Jackie.
Let’s start a petition to have another Damaged Good book!! – 2020
I would highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys a good mystery that also includes realistic characters, humor, suspense, a little, not raunchy, romance, with a conclusion that leaves you wanting more. Another couldn’tputitdown book by Mrs. Hart!
This is a fun book with characters that are real. I love the interactions between Jackie, Logan and Luke. The characters are dysfunctional, but have good hearts, say and do what they want, but when needed, will do everything in their power to be there. I love all the twists and turns this book took. It is a page turner, entertaining, and I recommend it.
“‘ We’re going to make this work Jackie’,Logan murmured. ‘No matter what it takes.I am determined to make you and me work.'”
The Parkers are at it again in the 4th Damaged Goods mystery. Jackie, now dating her ex-brother-in-law and working with her ex husband, the Parker brothers, working with apartment owners and wherever they find a needed situation tailored to their unique abilities.
However, someone seems to be targeting Logan because strange things are happening: molotov cocktails, broken windows and break-ins trash Jackie’s new house. And it would really help if Logan fully disclosed his “outside interests” and Luke told their parents that he and Jackie were divorced…
…and if Sasquatch and Abu are OK, maybe Jackie can begin to trust herself….
Jennifer Hart has quite a cadre of characters and the Damaged Goods crew is no exception. They were one of my introductions to her work, and I rapidly pickup this fun, interesting fast read. Highly Recommended 5/5

Bad Language, Bad People, Awesome Story
There are absolutely tons of bad language and crude behavior in this mystery. This is not a cozy mystery and it is not for the faint of heart. It has some closed-door sex, but nothing very graphic at all except the language. This is the 4th in a series, but the author tells the story in such a fashion that the reader won’t feel that they have missed anything by not having read the prior stories. Having said all that, I really enjoyed the book and want to look into the other books in the series and other books she has written. I won’t read them if they are cruder than this book. The author gave me this ARC for free and this is my honest opinion.
