Sheriff Buck Grady is on a mission to find the ones who killed his family. Until he meets Maddie, he has no desire to get close to anyone.
I recommend this book. You will not be disappointed.
This book was a very delightful read with the well written storyline and wonderfully created characters that kept me totally captivated as I turned each and every page until the very end!
I was given this book free to read and review and I found it charming. It took me two days to read only because at 1:00 this morning I fell asleep but finished it as soon as I woke. The characters are wonderful and although the main character is a feisty woman she is really like so many women today. She knows her mind, she does not take kindly to being looked over and she loves her friends and family. This is a great summer book to read or anytime you would just like to be uplifted.
Can two determined people switch goals midstream?
Maddie Hiller wants nothing more than to go to the big city and sing. Living on a ranch is not how she wants to spend the rest of her life. Her dad, stepmom, sister, and little brother are happy on the spread. Maddie’s discontent is not silent; the family breaths a sigh of relief when she takes a job sewing in town.
Buck Gray came to Prospect Heights to be the new sheriff in town. He has moved all over the country and spent years trying to find the gang who shot and murdered his twin sister, brother, mom, and dad, then set the ranch house on fire to hide evidence. His sister did not die immediately, and she told him enough to hunt for the murdering robbers.
An outbreak of robberies, shootings, and farmhouse fires occur not long after Buck becomes sheriff. Most of the victims survive. The entire town and surrounding ranches’ inhabitants are concerned and with good reason.
Maddie and Buck clash from the beginning. Her dad volunteers her services in the sheriff’s office doing paperwork. Can these two combatants learn to work together? Will Buck catch the gang responsible for the local robberies and attempted murders?
There are a lot of young people the right age to marry in this small town. How many will wed before this tale is complete? There is a wonderful realistic supporting cast of characters with complex interactions. Will Maddie give up her dreams of becoming a big-time singer? Will Buck get the gang who killed his sister, or will he move on, still chasing the killers?
I received a free ARC and am giving my honest evaluation.
A good story. They both have dreams. Different ones but they have to come together when trouble comes. Her father lost her mother and it blinded him to her talent. It is exciting, very emotional, dramatic, suspenseful, danger and so much more. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.
