After the first few pages, I knew this was a book I wasn’t going to be able to put down, until I got to The End. The characters were so realistic that they made it quite easy for me to absolutely love or completely dislike them, just like people in real life. This is a literary journey that I wouldn’t have missed for anything!
*I received a complimentary ARC of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.
I LOVED, LOVED IT!! I COULDN’T PUT IT DOWN, IT’S A PAGE TURNER.
This, the third book in the “Wicked” series, is the thrilling tale of Robbie MacDonald, who leaves his beloved Isle of Skye to search for his life’s meaning. He meets quite the cast of characters, including the beguiling Talise. This novel includes action, adventure and, of course, love. I highly recommend it to those that enjoy a little spice in their Highland storyline.

Highlanders, Pirates and ladies in distress! The story of a highlander’s desire to run away and the lady he discovers that is being abused.
About the time you decide you have figured out where the story is heading, it takes a great step away from the path and takes you in a whole new direction. a can’t miss!
I absolutely loved this book. It pictures an unusual character in the h as an Iroquois maiden, native of the Americas. I grew up reading in school about the American Indians. They were a proud strong people; more civilized and organized than the white man gave them credit for. They were people of the land and were very wise. I am glad the author introduced our h as a native American. It gives new meaning to the words sacrifice, suffering in silence, selflessness and through it all her spirit was never broken. The h was captured and sold to an Englishman who was a captain of a ship. He brutally beat her to near death, raped her repeatedly and got her pregnant. She bore it all in silence. Even though the babe was conceived under brutal circumstances she knew it was an innocent being. The babe bore no fault of the father’s wickedness. She loved the babe in her womb regardless of how it was created and she suffered much to keep it safe. Our H has something in common with the h and the babe. His mother was shockingly sexually assaulted, raped by the Laird of the castle. All the days of his life he wished he was never born. Even though his mother showered him with her unconditional love it was not enough for him. He felt he had no purpose. He embarked on a voyage that would away from the Isle of Skye, he would cross paths with the h and both of their lives would be changed forever. There is so much action and adventure. There are a few secondary characters filled with honor, kindness and self-sacrifice towards the h. They are incredible people. The H and h over time secretly fall in love. But the discovery of that love would be a death sentence for the H and would cause the h to receive a punishment beyond human endurance. The story has unique twists and turns that are courageous as they are deadly. A must read. You will not be disappointed.
I received an ARC of “The Highlander’s Wicked Prophecy” from the fabulous author, Fiona Faris. This is the story of Robbie of the Clan MacDonald of the Isle o’ Skye and Talise, a female slave, originally from the Beaver clan of the Iroquois tribe. Fiona gives a beautiful vivid description of everything in the book and transforms me there.
Robbie wishes to make something of himself, to be someone, and to discover his purpose in life, so he heads out to the Americas where he finds Talise on the America bound ship. Talise is actually held captive by the horrid captain and wishes to escape his claws as she develops tender feelings for Robbie.
Their adventure moving forward is captivating and heart wrenching.
…”In the end love is the one thing that will defeat the darkness that ye fear marks yer soul.”
I enjoyed reading this interesting book. The storyline was excellent and very compelling. The book was truly a page turner and captivating with wonderful characters except for the ship’s captain, he was a jerk. I look forward to reading your next book
Robbie MacDonald was a man in pain. He left the Isle of Skye to find himself, his reason and purpose for living. He found that purpose on board the St. Anne bound for America in the form of an Iroquois woman named Talise. Talise has been sold to the captain Acton Carlisle III. Can Robbie save Talise and her unborn child? Can he become the man his family always knew he was? A page turner till the end!!!
This story is totally different from any other that I have read. Robbie was conceived in violence and leaves to find his place and his purpose. He finds Talise, a victim of unspeakable abuse and cruelty and they know that they were meant to be together. She belongs to the monster who mistreats her both as his property and his wife. When they meet she is carrying the beasts child but she knows that Robbie is the one man who can save her. She is a strong and beautiful woman who has won over a few members of the Captain’s crew but will they be able to help Robbie and get her to safety?
This is easily one of my favorite by this author and I’ve read so many by Fiona Faris. The writing gives us interesting, sympathetic characters who face unimaginable tragedy and sadness in their lives. Robbie and Talise find the strength to keep moving forward to find their well-deserved happiness in themselves and with each other and in the process, become a part of a large and loving family. This book book has violence and sadness but it is overshadowed by redemption, love and belonging. It leaves its readers in a very good place: with a heart full of wonderful feels. Highly recommend. 🙂
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
“Highlander’s Wicked Prophecy” is a unique window into the diversity of the time period of this fast-paced story of love and perseverance. Very unlikely characters, an antagonistic ship captain and very strong, loyal and righteous scotsmen make for an action-packed story.
Such an emotional book!! It was difficult to keep reading at times but at the same time, I couldn’t put it down!! Both Robbie and Talis have had hard lives due to no fault of their own and must come to grips with that as well as learn how to move on. Thank goodness they have found each other because it is through one another that they will find the inspiration and the courage to face their difficulties head-on. All the trademarks of a Fiona Faris book are included, dramatic action scenes, complex storyline, wonderful characters, evil villains, and coursing through it all is an all-powerful love between two individuals that will not be denied!! And the epilogue will blow you away! Keep plenty of tissues on hand because this one is a tearjerker for sure!!
Such an exciting adventure. The characters are amazing and the story is fast paced. Talise and Robbie were meant for each other, despite all the tribulations and terror that had to be endured. Couldn’t put it down!
What a wonderful love story. I think Wicked Prophecy could be the best book I’ve read of Fiona’s yet. Two souls destined to be together; both looking for the missing part in their lives that gives them purpose and fulfilment. Truly the stuff that dreams are made of.
