Samantha and Lilith are back in book two of the Samantha Rain Mysteries. As their relationship grows they are also investigating a glitter covered body. This paranormal mystery is an entertaining read that held my attention from beginning to end. The writing is good, the story is packed with mystery, intrigue, danger, interesting characters, a slow burn romance, and unexpected twists.
Sam and Lilith are growing their relationship. Dead bodies and pixie dust are the start to this mystery. The characters and storyline are terrific, with plenty of surprises and twists. This time Sam and Lilith work together to figure it out and the girls are good at it. Looking forward the next book.

Definitely better than the first one. It is very much what I would call a slow burn romance. The pair dance around their attraction for each other quite a bit.

I had read a free short story The Case Of The Puppy Academy: A Samantha Rain Mysteries so that is why I jumped at the chance to read these books even though the short story was set after the first buy oh well I got hooked and the books are awesome.

Sam and Lilith are magic together as a PI team. I know last time I was thinking Kinsey, this time I am thinking more Bo and Kenzie with Lilith playing Kenzie’s part (laugh). Or even the Valkyrie’s part…I am digressing. I love the partnership. I cannot wait for Tape to add puppy to the mix.
The mystery was decent even though I guessed all of the partners, I did not guess the killer or the reason why. Kudos to Tape for that one.
I am loving the secondary characters. The massive interlocking storylines. Tape really has something with this series and I truly hope that she does not let it go with only three books. I am off now to join the Puppy Academy. I hope to see you there!
I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.
3 Stars
Painfully awkward crushes and idiocy
I kinda like the world of myriad magical beings. Their organization is perplexing though…
I continue to hate the single narrator 1st person; i want to know ALL THE THINGS! And the main protagonist is stumbling around dumb, kinda mired in her old ways. And she has a grade school crush… so ugh. JUST KISS HER ALREADY!! instead she spends half the time wibbling over her own unworthiness and uncertainty. Meanwhile, L-girl is lost and barely in charge. She needs REAL SUPPORT, hopefully from her partner, but she doesn’t work well with others, expecting loyalty without trust. Really, their whole partnership is fumbling and awkwardness.
Oh yeah, and there’s a murder mystery.

Our heroine is investigating a sparkling corpse and a bunch of unwelcome pixies. Seems like an odd combination, but that is just the start.
This is book two of the series. It works okay as a standalone, but you will be missing some of the back story.
This is a paranormal mystery story with a slow burn FF romance in the making. The story is well written and easy to read. The setting is well developed and we get to explore some new territory this time. We also get to meet some new characters as well as learn more about some established ones. The plot was quite intriguing as well, with enough intrigue and mystery to keep things interesting. Overall, another fun and easy read.
Highly recommended.
This is another wonderful book in the samantha rain series. This one involves glittery covered bodies and pixies. The characters are amazing. They feel real. The plot twists in this book were very intriguing. It took me awhile to figure out what was going on exactly. This series is definitely worth getting caught up in.
The Case Of The Pixie Deal by Arizona Tape is an awesome mystery story that I have read. This is book number two in this awesome series that I am hooked on. I can not wait to read the rest of this awesome series that I have loved reading since the beginning. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about mystery, fantasy and LGBT romance in their stories.

Sam and Lillie have really caught my attention and kept it and this time the story around Pixies and their predilections for teeth and, what’s this a dead body involved? We get to find out just how well the detective work Sam’s mind does.
This second installment of Sam Rains adventure by Arizona is making me yammer for more. The heat from this story is like a nice cayenne spice to the tongue. I can’t wait for more.

This is the 5th book I’ve read written by Arizona Tape; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

Samantha Rain and her companion Lilith, Will-of-the-Wisp Clan heiress, are assigned to watch a murder scene. Instead of one body, they find two. Both covered in Glitter. According to Lilith, Pixies’ work. The Nox Act states that bodies must be removed and burned within a fixed time frame. Investigations are not common in the Nox world. But Sam, a retired policewoman, wants to investigate in order to discover the killer and the motives for the crime. She is familiar with human crimes, but will have to convince Lilith to help her in this. Thus begins the course of investigating Pixies. How will it end? It’s a well-written story with some scary/ creapy parts here and there and a romantic blossoming relationship between Sam and Lilith. I recommend this book to avery one who likes mysteries.

Samantha is still use to be being a warden for the Nox. Lilith has Samantha go to a scene with her. They discover the bodies of two people. They don’t seem to concerned with it. Samantha loses her temper over it. Samantha is able to change Lilth’s mind on the investigation. While Samantha is looking into the murders, Catalina requests to see her. Samantha takes it is urgent from her messages. Samantha is surprised by what the emergency is. As Samantha and Lilith work together closely, Samantha starts to have more feelings for her. Samantha doesn’t know if she feels the same.

Good book with likable characters and a storyline that has enough action to keep you interested until the very end.
The history between Lilith and Sam is convoluted and a bit befuddling
This book gives us a glimpse of the becoming duo before Shadow start Hellhound training, yet after Sam has been recruited and is apart from her ex wife
Vulnerability on the part of Lilith seems generally rare, but less so in the presence of Sam
Puzzles and family and clan
I love the taunting glimpses of perhaps something more or different ahead
Intriguing possibilities on several fronts
This was another fun but strange read in this series as Sam and Liliths unusual relationship continues to develop while they investigate a strange murder.
Enjoyable read.
