“I could spend days listening to you talk about chocolate.”Sex and chocolate are the two pleasures Michał enjoys most in life. His sex life has been nonexistent for some time, though. After a particularly bad hookup, he keeps mostly to himself. That leaves chocolate. Luckily, he works surrounded by the most delicious, extravagant produce in Gothenburg. Beside his job at the chocolaterie, his main … chocolaterie, his main source of excitement is his online friend, Magnus, whom he stubbornly refuses to meet in person.
A customer turns up at the chocolaterie one day—tall, shy, and charming. He could be just the right man. If Michał can step out of his overly safe shell, there might be not only chocolate, but sex, too. Maybe chocolate-flavored sex. And if he’s lucky, maybe even love.

Vanilla Clouds is one of the most romantic books I’ve read this year. I absolutely loved it, and enjoyed the sweet, delightful flow of the plot. The characters felt true and connected so well with each other. The book is well written and enjoyable–I highly recommend it.
The characters are adorable…not sure how the author does it, but everything is so
surreal and beautiful yet so realistic. There’s always sweet and sexy in every book
and beautiful happy ending.

I loved this story!
I became acquainted with Roe Horvat’s erotic romance books before reading this one, and while this one is much tamer, I still loved it. It’s a sweet story about online friends and chocolate, and who doesn’t like chocolate.
The descriptive writing kept me captivated and I enjoyed the narration by Vance Bastian. I will definitely be reading/listening to more books by Roe Horvat.
A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.
If you haven’t experienced a story by Roe Horvat Vanilla Clouds is an excellent place to start. Moving and heartfelt, this novel is a feast for the senses as well as the soul. Brought to life by the captivating voice of Vance Bastian, the audio version of Vanilla Clouds is everything I could have hoped for. Listening to this one is a pleasure!
From the lush descriptions of the chocolates, to the colorful atmosphere of this enchanting Swedish city, I’m already planning my next vacation. The dialogue is charmingly European and a refreshing change from the usual romance novels I read. The way these folks communicate is just fundamentally different and so appealing. Trust me, this one is over way too soon.
Roe Horvat weaves the familiar friends-to-lovers scenario into a gorgeous hurt/comfort tale that warms my heart. Michał’s journey is uplifting and hopeful, and it’s wonderful to see him find peace. It’s a slow-burn, but OH is it worth the wait!
Vance Bastian’s rich, warm vocals infuse so much expression into the narration. While the text exchanges could be cold and unemotional, he animates them and helps establish the unique qualities of each character.
As Michał tells his tale, the complexities of his personality come through beautifully in audio. Timid and coy, he also has an engaging sense of humor, and Mr. Bastian captures every nuance during a pivotal moment when an enticing, bearded customer enters his store and Michał’s interest is piqued. His cheeky uncertainty comes right through and it’s an adorable scene.
Soothing and sumptuous, Vanilla Clouds is everything I want a romance novel to be. It’s a great read, and an incredible audio – either way please pick it up, it’s amazing!
This is my review of the audiobook:
I loved everything about this book! The characters, settings, and chocolate descriptions were all so well written, I was fascinated. My heart hurt occasionally for the main couple, but I also smiled often and even laughed out loud several times. Michal and his love are meant to be.
An incredibly talented author and a truly skilled narrator provided a wonderful listening experience. I recommend this audiobook wholeheartedly.
What a delightful story this is!!
It starts great right away… Michał (Migauw?) texting with his online friend Magnus about how to get rid of someone.
He didn’t quite learned from the past but… the future is ahead!
Magnus wants to meet Michał in real life, but no… their friendship is too precious to Michał and he doesn’t want to screw this up by meeting. Even though the sex would be wonderful to have after his last bad experience and now a long dry period… but no!
“I thought you’d swapped pictures.”
“Not of our faces.”
Working between the best ingredients of the world is truly a delicious compensation for Michał.
Until there is a new customer … a very kind and considerate one… not at all as he had before!
Ghaawd I laughed I cried and laughed again. What a wonderful read this is. It had so much in it. At first sight it looks like a light read but it shows to be emotional, it had gravity and lightness and fun.
Beautifully written story with a lot of delicious tasty moments… and at the background the indelible addictively smell of chocolate and vanilla. Looooved it!
Recommended as a mustread!
