Great story. Doryan is a Detyen Warrior who lived past his 30th birthday without paying the Denya Price by undergoing an ancient ritual that takes away his soul. Amy is an investigator who happens to be at the right place to save Doryan from the Detyen military officers wanting to put him to death. He was accused of murdering his commanding officer. He not only finds his fated mate in Amy but she saves him from being killed. Loved this story line and the characters. Hate to see this series end. Awesome! This is the 3rd book I’ve read written by Kate Rudolph; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

I have read several of Kate’s stories now, Each time I finish reading one of her books I find myself with a smile on my face. As always, her stories have complex, interesting characters. They are able to grow and develop almost in front of your eyes. Even with the insta-lust, insta-love, fated mate themes that she writes about, there is always enough angst and drama to make it feel realistic…even in a universe unlike our own.
I love this genre. Great plot and characters. I volunteered to read an advance copy for an honest review.
Amy goes to the new Deyten settlement hoping to get a job as an investigator. She is surprised when the Deyten Commander is murdered and she takes the case. Doryan is found standing over the body and becomes a prime suspect. Amy knows that Doryan is innocent and now she has to prove it. I love the story and the series

Amazing! Doryan and Amy are my favorite couple so far! Amy is a private detective, she is the kind you want on your side if you’re in trouble! Doryan is one of the soulless working for the legion. He’s accused of murder and it’s up to Amy to figure out the truth! If you haven’t read any of these books then you definitely need to read this one!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. The book is about aliens living on Earth trying to make a live for them self in a place of their own. Doryan just wanted to go home but he could not do that he had to make his home on Earth. Amy is a PI and trying to make things meet. Amy and Kyla are trying to make their business move forward by asking the Detyen to see if they need help with any thing from the PI’s. Now would be the time to get the book. I will be getting more from this author.
I wonder if conflict of interest is just a human concept or are aliens so impartial that they do not have to worry about such ideas.
On a different note, it should be noted that this series is best read in its order to enjoy the story in its fullest.

Extremely entertaining, captivating and interesting sexy read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong, intriguing characters. I want to read more from this author.

The story revolves around Doryan, who is one of the soulless and how when he meets Amy for the first time there is an unexplained draw to her. Being soulless, he is not suppose to feel any emotions but that changes with Amy. Along with this storyline is also the investigation into the murder of a captain in the Legion. This is an interesting story and it is entertaining.
I do love these stories. This one surprised me. A Detyen dead. A strange thing, I thought that the Legion felt bad about the Soulless among them. I did not think about them bringing prejudice against them. Threw me for a loop. You would think that the rest of them would be happy for them. They have found their Mates. Instead of a state of limbo for them they will be able to live again. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I really enjoyed Amy and Doryan’s story. It had suspense and intrigue. A weekend business trip turns into a who-dun it. It was a steady pace and full of real life what factors & what ifs. The setting was good and would be nice for future potential matches. There were enough minor threads in the story to lead the way for the next stories. It will be interesting to see what happens next.
I have become addicted to this series, I love it. I especially like that each characters book is a standalone so you can dip in and out of it, I’ve read quite a few of the books but certainly not them all.
This had a fantastic, enjoyable storyline which draw me in. It was well written, light and easy to read, a good length, had great characters and a little bit of light suspense. What’s not to love if you like these kind of books.
Amy and her partner/friend Kyla are running low on funds in their PI business, Amy is sent to the Detyen settlement to drum up business. She finds herself in the middle of a murder that brings her to her mate Doryan. There is a who dune it with lots of drama and hot scenes.

Entertaining alien romance. I’ve only read Soulless by this author, but I still got what is going on in this book. There are a lot of past characters in this book though and some scenarios that may be better understood with a full backstory, so you may want to start at the beginning book for this alien world. This book takes place on Earth. The aliens, aka Detyens, are out in the open, but aren’t quite accepted by all. Lead male character, Doryan, is an alien that gave away his soul to live longer; aliens die at 30 if they don’t find their mate, so without their soul they live longer. Without their soul the aliens are emotionless, Doryan is sort of like a soldier for the Legion (Seems like an alien version of the government and military combined) and are “retired” when they start exhibiting odd behavior. Doryan meets private investigator, Amy, when she goes to some alien sanctuary. He feels a connection with her and she with him, but the Soulless aren’t supposed to find mates. So, Doryan and Amy are dealing with the whole mates thing and Legion looking into Doryan’s actions when a murder happens, so they have many things they are dealing with.
I liked both characters, and they have a sweet and passionate connection. Doryan is a little bland for me, but I suppose that may have something to do with being Soulless. I appreciated that Amy was so accepting of the whole mates thing in the beginning, but then she started to waver some, so I didn’t appreciate that. It was also weird that after being sort of trapped alone for over a week, she still didn’t know very much about Doryan; it would’ve been nice if they actually used that time to grow closer. I enjoyed the story for the most part, but some things didn’t feel fully realized. The murder plot fizzled; I wanted so much more from that. Also, the end felt too abrupt. I’m still going with a 4 rating though because this is still a pretty good alien romance. It kept me entertained.
Doryan is one of the Soulless, those who never found their Denya and gave up their soul to live on in the Detyen Legion. After being captured and finally released, he still hasn’t gone back to the Legion. But his Captain summoned him to a meeting at a sanctuary to determine if he will be released. When he gets there, the Commander has been murdered, and everyone assumes Doryan did it.
Everyone except for Amy. Amy was a cop and is now a PI, so she takes over the investigation. And what she most wants to investigate is Doryan himself to figure out why she is so drawn to him. This is an exciting tale of murder, mayhem and love!
I love the Detyens and their Denyas. Their story is so tragic and having them find happiness one at a time is very satisfying!
This was an awesome read that I thoroughly enjoyed and I highly recommend. The story and characters pulled me in from the beginning and I couldn’t stop reading until I finished. If you love hot alpha males and the heroines they love with a hot and sexy romance then this book is for you. It’s an awesome book and a definite must read for any fan and I can’t wait to read more!!!

Another soulless Detyen reborn
Kate Rudolph’s Mated to the Alien series continues with the story of Doryan, and his fated mate. Wait! Doryan is soulless – a menber of the Detyen Legion who has sacrificed his soul to evade the Denya Price and buy a few more years to serve his people – recant have a denya (fasted mate). Or can he? Turns out the Detyan Legion, whose mission is was to find and punish the destroyer of Detya, having accomplished that mission, is now pretty much superfluous. And all those self-sacrificing soulless warriors are no longer needed. And, being soulless, they are a guilty dirty secret now in danger of exposing the less attractive side of Detyen life – just in time to jeopardize the Detyens’ newfound welcome to planet Earth. His commander orders him to a remote “Detyen settlement” for “evaluation” (Translate “execution”) where he stumbles upon Amy, retired cop and current PI. The murder, mystery, and politics that stew around them can’t alter the truth or the new challenges for Doryan, Amy, or the future of the Detyen warriors. Great mystery, great suspense, hot love scenes and thrilling action – Kate Rudolph has another winner here. (A voluntary ARC review)
