I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review.
This book is a mix of fabulous authors who have come together to make one great book.
Abigail Davies is one of my favourite authors, and I buy most/all of her book’s as I love her style of writing. And she doesn’t disappoint in this anthology either.
Her book is about Jax a guy we originally meet in one of her duets, and I’m really glad he got his own book, because he’s hot as sin and needed his own book
The rest of the anthology is just as well written and I’d definitely recommend it as a book worth reading and needing to add to your TBR list
This is not your mama’s book of love stories.
The seven stories written on the pages of this book all showcase twisted talent from the seven authors who penned them.
Abigail Davies’ Enforce Her is a steamy tale of what happens when a man who will do anything to protect his chosen family is faced with a task he knows he must complete, no matter how gray the area of love and loyalty gets.
Yolanda Olson’s Lolita is twisted ride from the Queen of Dark Reads herself, proving that nothing is ever what it seems, and some pretty girls will stop at nothing to get what they feel the deserve, no matter the cost.
From C.L. Matthews comes Loveless, a hot and sexy read of what happens when secrets you’ve kept to yourself come to light in ways you never imagined.
Illicit by C.M. Radcliff tells what can happen when one breaks the cardinal rule they’ve lived by, no matter the reason.
Michelle Brown’s Sin Keeper will leave you wide eyed and breathless thinking about the secrets those next to you may have.
All We Know by J.M. Walker is a dangerous web of tangled desires and reveling in what you want and what you know you shouldn’t do, even if they’re the same thing.
And Deceiver by Alexandra Silva is a twisted new spin on what happens when two players enter a game, and only one knows they’re being played.
This anthology was the definition of deliciously depraved. I wanted more and it gave me more. Seven authors give all the yummy angst and delicious forbidden romance you can take! It’s a must read collection. GET IT!
7 amazing authors all in one book, yes please.
I loved every moment I got to experience in this anthology. I got to read words by authors that I have enjoyed on their own, and then I got the perfect introduction to new to me authors as well. I couldn’t ask for a better way to spend my time then reading this again and again.
I Give this Book an Overall 4.5/5 Star Rating, Listing as 4.
*There Are Some Great Stories in Here!*
I will be reviewing each story individually, each will have an individual rating.
I will then total the ratings to give an Overall rating of the Anthology.
Book 1: Enforce Her by Abigail Davies
Rating: 3.5/5
Dark(?): Not To Me, So No.
Heat: 1.5-2/5, Low Heat > Essentially ’Next Day’ Type.
Romance: 3.5/5
Drama & Suspense: 3.5/5
Relationship Type: MF
HEA(?): Yes.
This is a decently fast paced story, I personally don’t mind Haisley’s personality throughout this book, but I wouldn’t be shocked if some readers would say that it’s ‘unbelievable’ behavior in some areas of the book. But I would most likely react the same way she did.
I did enjoy this book, and kept my attention.
Does this Book feel Forbidden-y enough? (To Me) No, Not Really.
I would love to read other works from this author.
Book 2: Lolita by Yolanda Olson
Rating: 5/5
HEA(?): Yes, I Believe So. Lol
Relationship Type: MF
No Spoilers.
Let’s just say, Yolanda NEVER disappoints when you need a good nontraditional read.
This is a short read, but your always on the edge of your seat, cause you never know what’s in store for you. And then when you encounter the ending, you’re surprised that you’re completely satisfied.
Does this Book feel Forbidden-y enough? Oh MOST Definitely & Loved It!! XD
I Never Get Tired of Her Books, I’m Obsessed With Her Writing!
Book 3: Loveless by C.L. Matthews
Rating: 5/5
Heat: 5/5
Relationship Type: MM
Insta-Love(?): Yes! I’m not usually a fan of those but this was soo Good!
HEA(?): Yes!
This is a evenly but fast paced book and well written as well.
I consumed this story so fast! Lol
So Good! I’ll Never forget this story.
Does this Book feel Forbidden-y enough? Yes! It fits perfectly!
Book 4: Illicit by C.M. Radcliff
Rating: 3.5/5
Heat: 3/5
Relationship(?) Type: MF
Cliffhanger(?): Yes? I think so..?
Does this Book feel Forbidden-y enough? I’m Not Really Sure?
This book was a bit hard to get into, knowing it’s part of a series (and I haven’t gotten the chance to get to it yet)
I did feel like I was missing the bigger picture.
Book 4: Sin Keeper by Michelle Brown
Rating: 3.5-4/5
Heat: 3.5/5
HEA(?): Yes
Relationship Type: MFM
Does this Book feel Forbidden-y enough? Yes 🙂
This was a fast paced read, I did feel like the book needed more explanation in a few areas, it felt a little bit clunky to fully accept what was going on. But plot wise I did enjoy the book 🙂
Book 5: All We Know by J. M. Walker
Rating: 4/5
HEA(?): Yes
Romance: 3.5/5
Heat: 3.5-4/5
Relationship Type: MF
Does this Book feel Forbidden-y enough? I suppose so, Yes 🙂
I wish it was a bit longer, but this was a great fast paced story 🙂
Book 6: Deciever by Alexandra Silva
Rating: 2/5
Relationship Type: MF
Heat: While the heat is good and I’ll give it a 4/5, It’s introduced too early in my opinion.
You know when you read a book and the sex scenes just don’t feel like they fit in properly and feels purposely put in just for the heat factor rating?
That’s kinda the vibe I took away.
There’s a lot of heat and but none of the heated scenes felt convincing to me, it just felt empty.
Suspense: 3.5/5
Drama: 4?/5
Romance: As a Question>Yes, there’s romance and I ‘guess’ a lot of it. But honestly I didn’t believe a bit of it, Damon & Ava were practically drowned/muffled in their own Book.
Like hearing a whisper amongst a roaring crowd.
As a Rating> 1/5. It just didn’t feel real at any point.
HEA(?): Yup.
I did & didn’t like the pacing of this book, it’s fast paced & kinda weirdly felt like it was dragging as well.
This being the last story in the book, I was highly anticipating this one.
‘You Save the Best for Last, Right?’
But the Story to me, fell extremely short for me.
The book overall felt filler-y, it kinda went everywhere and nowhere at the same time.
It left me quite a bit confused in several sections of the story. And it’s an extremely…active(?) book, LOTS of things going on almost hinging on chaotic.
People you’d think would appear quite a bit in the story, didn’t even appear.
The book went down a weird path I didn’t even foresee.
Lanie felt like a front runner for me rather than Ava half the time, she shouldn’t have had so much focus on her and Fran might as well be put in the same category with Lanie.
Does this Book feel Forbidden-y enough? You might think so at first, but in my opinion> Not.At.All.
I’m Extremely Disappointed in this Story.
Anthology Wise: It’s Pretty Good Overall!
This was such an epic book
With so many brilliant author’s
Each story so unique from author’s like Yolanda Olson
Abigail Davis,JM Walker and 4 other outstanding writer’s
This is a definite 5 star must read
I needed to see who manages to bring Jax to his knees, and I wasn’t disappointed. Abigail Davies delivered Haisley, a woman beaten down by the one who should love and protect her most, used as a pawn, and discarded by all. Except…Jax can’t get her out of his head. So when he finds out what her life REALLY is, he makes sure to change it. I only wish that they’d had a truly full-length story because I wanted more!
Review for Deceiver by Alexandra Silva:
I had to dive right into Alexandra’s contribution to this anthology because well, I love her books! Damon and Ava’s office romance is one of my new favorites. They ignite immediately but deceptions and omissions give their story incredible push and pull, and their interactions are full of love/hate steamy chemistry and lip biting tension! I love how Damon falls and once he does, boy is he fiercely protective/possessive! A twist has Ava a bit more reluctant to completely open herself up, though deep down she knows it’s a lost cause. Overall, a fast paced engaging story that hit all the marks! 5 forbidden stars for Deceiver. I can’t wait to read more of this anthology!
This Anthology is a perfect blend of dark, twisted and sexy hot forbidden romance. Each author writes a different trope/genre so there’s something sure to delight every reader. For those that love MC, age-gap, boss/employee, MM and more are within the pages.
Enforce Her by Abigail Davies
This was fantastic. Jax and Haisley are complete opposites. He takes her but keeping her is what he wants yet he knows they are too different. Brilliant MC story.
Lolita by Yolanda Olson
Here was I thinking this author had written a complete different genre to what she usually writes. Yes she was fooling me until I read it some more. Meet ska has always fought for what she wants. She’s now hoping a babysitting job will change her life. Fab read.
Loveless – C.L. Matthews
Yikes this is so so good. The author feeds us the story in such a way you really hope it’s gonna go the way you want it to. An excellent sexy mm story
Illicit – C.M. Radcliff
Fab read. Aleksei meets a beautiful girl. Unfortunately nothing is what it seems. Can’t wait to read more from this author.
Sin Keeper – Michelle Brown
Fabulous read. Jasmine has just started a new school. She gets more than she bargained for in one class. Love the stories from this author and this is another great read from her.
All we know – j.m. Walker
This shows to me again that I’ve not read enough by this author. Taboo but oh so good. I’ll definitely be reading more from this author.
Deceiver – Alexander Silva
After I finished this one I looked to see what else this author had written as it was so good. Definitely will be reading more of hers.
What I liked and enjoyed about this anthology is the variety of tropes. My reader heart was satisfied when I reached the final page. If you’re a romance reader and enjoys forbidden and dark romance then this Anthology is the right one for you. The seven novellas are forbidden, a little dark and twisted but most of all sexy as hell. There’s a MC romance from Abigail Davies. A very twisted and dark age gap from Yolonda Olson. I was pleasantly surprised when read Loveless from C.L Matthews cause it was a delicious M/M , best friend’s father romance. If you fancy some suspense to your romance then Illicit by C.M Radcliff is the one. Sin Keeper from Michelle Brown was an awesome student/teacher/student threesome. Forbidden and so hot. Lynne and Gabe , an age gap and best friend’s mother romance from All We Know by J.M. Walker gave me all the tingles. The Anthology ended with Deceiver by Alexandra Silva. Talk about a sensual and fabulous boss and employee romance. Damon started off as a jerk but it didn’t take much for him to win me and Ava over. If you crave some dirty, hot and twisted romance then read this awesome Anthology now.
Overall definitely a 5 star read. All the stories were great and I definitely recommend this anthology
Up first is a story called Enforce Her. In this one you read about Haisley and Jax. Let’s just say Jax needs her for a special reason. Haisley might just end up needing him more. This story is by Abigail Davies and it’s a MC story. 5/5 stars.
The second story is Lolita by Yolanda Olson. Meryska is just looking for a job to help get her back on her feet. When she finds the perfect job as a babysitter for a rich family. But just when she thinks maybe she’s in over her head. A unexpected twist. And the plot thickens. 4.5/5 it’s a twisted tale.
Next is Loveless by C.L. Mattews. Tex is in the closet… He just tries to keep his head down and do what his father wants. But one day while pleasuring himself his father walks in and figures out he’s gay and kicks him out. Now basically homeless he finds a guy who interests him. Though he’s never done this before he goes through with it. Now this is where it gets juicy. I liked the story overall and give it 4.5/5. Obviously it’s M/M.
Illicit by C.M. Radcliff is next. This is a story about a man named Aleksei. He’s out drinking and sees a beautiful woman named Lyra. Both are not what they seem and still they are drawn to each other. Having a job to do Aleksei needs to concentrate but all he can think about is Lyra. This has consequences for both of them. 4.5/5 this is a Mafia story.
Sin Keeper by Michelle Brown. This is a story about Jasmine she’s just started a new school and the only friend she seems to have is Taylor and he just wants to sleep with her. But they are the only 2 students in Mr. Allen’s class. And the assignment the teacher gives them might just change everything for the 3 of them. 5/5 this is a M/F/M story.
All we know by J.M. Walker. This is a story about Lynne. She got pregnant at 15 and married the baby daddy. Years later he divorced her. Just her and her college age son James, Lynne always puts her son first. She figures love just isn’t in the cards for her. Her son and his best friend Gabe are always over. Lynne starts noticing how Gabe is handsome but she’s too old for him. But her son’s best friend has a very different idea. 5/5
Deciever by Alexandra Silva. The last story is about Ava. She was passed for promotion, her fiance took the job and she dumped his butt. She’s set to start at a new company the next day but decides to celebrate with her best friend Lacie. While out at a bar she meets Henry. This leads to that and the spend the night together. When she goes to her new job the next day she finds out she might have just slept with her new boss. 4.5/5
Enforce Her:
I haven’t read much by Abigail Davies, but I really need to rectify that. Absolutely enjoyed this glimpse into her MC series, and will have to grab the Duet the character Jax was in.
Lolita:
Another wild tale from Yolanda Olson that really made me pause. The story of a girl getting exactly what she wants, and the twist will absolutely throw you! And it’ll have you second guessing who you invite into your house!
Loveless:
Who doesn’t love a little M/M in their lives. C.L. Matthews brings a fun story to life with the budding relationship between Tex and Devin, and what will come of their tryst.
Illicit:
Following one Russian hitman, his brother and their “assistant”, the bonds of loyalty and love are tested. They’re all playing a game, and when the winner is evident, you’ll wonder what they’ve really won.
Sin Keeper:
The triangle formed in this one is wild and erotic! There is a lot crammed into this short story, I would have loved to see a longer story from It, but definitely holds all your interest!
All We Know:
What a fun story! Who doesn’t like the older woman-younger man story?! Hot and sweet, this one has it all!
Deceiver:
The anthology is rounded out with a nice alpha story. Alexandra Silva is another author I’m not overly familiar with, but it was a great way to end this book!
A juicy collection of Forbidden stories to sink your teeth into.
Each story tells a different naughty tale, whether it is a student/teacher, babysitter/parent or an age gap romance etc, there is something for everyone.
I’ve read a few of these authors before and was excited to read their stories but it’s the authors I’ve never read previous that i get excited to read so i can find new authors to follow.
In this collection my favourite stories were Abigail Davies who’s novella was a standalone spin off for other previous books by her and i cannot get enough of them so was excited to read it and Yolanda Olson’s story, i was sat slacked jawed reading that story, Lolita is one messed up, smart cookie that’s for sure. C.L Matthews was a new to me author and i really enjoyed her story, it was m/m, age gap and totally naughty. I will definitely check out her other books.
Overall i give the whole collection 4.5 stars.
It’s a must read for any forbidden lover.
What an amazing Forbidden Anthology. I enjoyed every single story. Five Stars for an All-Star line up! You just can’t get enough of these stories. I couldn’t put this anthology down. And you won’t either.
Enforce Her by Abigail Davies will have you all hot and bothered. We briefly meet Jax in the Burned Duet. His forbidden story will leave you breathless. You will absolutely love the way Jax takes care of Haisley. Who would of thought that taking her would be his downfall. He can’t help but fall for her. Five Stars!!
Lolita by Yolanda Olson is a forbidden story that is twisted yet you can’t stop reading it. These two play a game and woahhhh what a story we get. Olson takes us on a story of getting what you want no matter what. Five Stars!
Loveless by C.L Matthews is so good! This is a story of finding your One, even though it shouldn’t happen. The feels in this book are felt through every word on the page. You can’t help but root for these two. This is a male/male story that will leave you breathless. Five Stars!!
Illicit by C.M Radcliff will have you flipping the pages to find out who is going to get it. This story isn’t a love story this is about revenge and we are kept guessing the entire time. Four Stars.
Sin Keeper by Michelle Brown ohhh this one is hot!! This is a M/F/M story and you won’t want to miss these three. Five stars!!
All We Know by J.M Walker what a amazing age-gap story. Age doesn’t matter when it comes to love. Five stars!!
Deceiver by Alexandra Silva Five Stars!!
I was given a free advanced copy of this book by the authors in exchange for my honest and voluntary review.
All stories of this epically depraved anthology should be read and enjoyed under the covers… but here are a few reviews/instant reactions from me so that you get the idea and hit that one click button…
Lolita- Yolanda Olson
It has been awhile since I’ve read a book by Yolanda and as I sit here thoroughly confused about what I just read (in the best way) I’m wondering why. Everything wasn’t as it seemed that’s for sure…. My mind is broken! I need answers!!
Illicit- C.M. Radcliff
Any book by Cali is fantastic, this novella is no different. You’ll be kept guessing the whole time, wondering what on earth the plan is, with Lyra and the brothers..
Did not expect that ending at all, then again it’s Cali so really shouldn’t be surprised! More that I want to say but….spoilers. Just read, trust me.
All We Know- J.M Walker
This short story was the embodiment of forbidden! May have been short but it was dirty. Not my usual read but still enjoyed.
Deceiver- Alexandra Silva
What brillant author to conclude a fantastic boxset. A full sized forbidden romance complete with kissing in the rain. Although I normally prefer suspense from Alexandra I’m not surprised I loved this change of genre, I think I would love anything by her.
