He’s the one person I don’t want around and yet, I can’t ask him to leave.
Bella
The summer is coming to an end and I’m barely surviving. Dad’s gone. Mom spends more time passed out on the couch than doing anything else. Thankfully I have school and soccer to keep me distracted. Until Logan Cartwright walks back into my life. He’s acting like his family didn’t ruin mine and confusing me more … Until Logan Cartwright walks back into my life. He’s acting like his family didn’t ruin mine and confusing me more than ever. I’m supposed to hate him but he’s nice and everywhere I don’t want him to be.
Logan
I’m back home in Sweet Mountain ready to start my life sans my parents. They’re desperately trying to save the business they took from the Davenports so abandoned me at my grandmother’s house while they come up with a plan. Which is fine with me. When I run into Bella, I’m trying to fight the desire to fix what our parents broke. She’s distant and vulnerable and my protective instincts take control. If only I could get her trust me, she’d see how much I want to help, not hurt.

A good clean YA enemy to lovers’ romance. Their families were feuding, hers was falling apart after his cheated hers out of their combined business, and his needed an investor or they’d be bankrupt, but one thing in common was the parents hated each other. Bella was dealing with the fallout and Logan’s family moved to New York but now he’s back. They both grew up and are attracted to each other, but can they get over the feud?

The book had so many swoony and precious moments between the main characters and I really liked the “Romeo and Juliet” aspect of it. Logan was quiteeeee the catch…definitely book boyfriend material.
At times their relationship felt kind of rushed, but it was also understandable because they did know each other before plus they were both dealing with a lot of different emotions. Despite the plot’s quick progression, I was still able to enjoy the romantic elements of the book.
As far as content goes: No language that I can remember and only kissing. I don’t think there was anything really suggestive. The book also had absent parents, alcoholics, implications of an affair, and mention of teens drinking.
If you’re looking for a cute, angsty, fast summer read…then you should definitely check this one out.

Me encantan Bella y Logan. Estaría increíble que su historia continuara en otro libro.

Multi authors writing a series is something I enjoy immensely.
This story is the first one of this new series and it has a big rivalry among two families and the teenagers of each family falling in love.
The angsty but consuming emotions they develop towards another is beautifully written. It’s a short story but it captivates the attention. I actually wish Bella and Logan could continue their story in another book.
Amazing start for what promises to be an incredible series!
After reading Persuasion, this book fell flat. The characters had good stories and interesting personalities (although not much developed) but the relationships were very superficial. Sad!
My Summer Mistake is anything but a mistake. This modern day version of Romeo and Juliette features the Davenports and Cartwrights, whose families hate each other over business dealings. I really liked Bella Davenpport and how she came to finally realize that her parent’s mistakes would not determine her happiness.. I also liked Logan Cartwright, who let go of the past and opened his eyes and heart to the pain Bella had suffered at his parent’s expense. I really liked how the story ended.
If you need to escape for a few hours and forget about what’s happening in the world, this is a sweet book with just the right amount of angst, hope and tender moments!
First off, Bella and Logan were very endearing characters, I loved them. The story was sweet. I loved seeing Bella heal throughout the book. My one wish is that we would have seen the consequences of Logan’s parents behavior. I would have liked to read about the conversation between them and Logan when he left. I was waiting for things to turn around for both sets of parents but I was left wanting in that area. It doesn’t, however, take away from the story at all. For that reason alone it’s more of a 3.75 stars rating for me. An enjoyable read!
Anne-Marie Meyer’s My Summer Mistake (Sweet Mountain High) was recommended to me by someone trust and I’m truly happy for the recommendation. This is a wonderful “Sweet YA Romance” with all kinds of story stands going on from guilt and family issues to combatting attraction. The leafs here, Bella and Logan, are well crafted and the story is beautifully written. These days that’s just the sort of fun sanity saving thing I need, and I’m happy to recommend the book.
Logan and Bella are reunited–but it’s not a good thing. Their parents are mortal enemies, which bleeds down to this couple. Logan’s parents screwed Bella’s parents over in the past, but we don’t really get details about what went down. All the reader is privy to is the aftermath that resulted from that back stab and let me just say, it’s quite brutal for Bella to endure.
The sweet romance that develops between these enemies is reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet and delivers an enjoyable high school romance infused with a lot of drama. I’m looking forward to more of these series, because I really liked the setting and characters and hope to see glimpses of them in future books.
Content: mild romance

That was a lot more drama than I expected, but well-written, with likeable characters, and – of course – a happy end. 🙂 Looking forward to reading more books in this multi-author series!
Bella and Logan were friends until his parents stole from hers. Her family is falling apart and she just is overwhelmed with it all. What happens when Logan returns? I really liked seeing Logan’s growth and willing to admit when he is wrong. These two (and gran) were so much more mature than their parents. A really sweet book with romance and learning how to forgive, let down walls, and let love in. Loved the ending.
