Barbara McMahon takes us back to Rocky Point, Maine! Artsy people will enjoy the gallery that Callie owns. When Tommy is killed in an auto accident, Callie does not tell the truth about him so that his mother will not be hurt. Tommy’s twin, Trace, comes to Rocky Point to settle his brother’s estate. As far as the twins’ well-known artist mother is concerned, she only had one son! Rocky Point Dawn shows the problems that are caused when parents play favorites. I received an advance e-book copy of Rocky Point Dawn from the author. This is my honest opinion.

Rocky Point Dawn is book 6 in the Rocky Point series by Barbara McMahon and a great addition to this series.
Trace Warren has had a lifetime of being second best and doing all types of cleanup for his identical twin brother, Tommy but when he finds out his brother has died months before and he’s only now received word as he has been out of the country in the outback of Africa.
He returns home and finds he’s the will trustee for his brother, Tommy and his mother is trying to have a gallery showing of his works that she believes are extraordinary. She has been pushing the gallery owner and Tommy’s fiancé, Callie Miller to hold the show except she won’t look at the painting and Callie knows they are not as good a his mother thinks…
Dysfunctional family, being second best, secrets, strength, compassion are just some of the things you will find in this amazing book and series! Can’t wait for the next book!!
Barbara McMahon manages to weave a perfect story using her character development & descriptive prose. Her talent for drawing a picture with words is apparent in this story. Callie is an artist & is running the gallery of her dreams. She was engaged to a man she loved. When he was killed in an accident, secrets began to come out.
Trace couldn’t believe his mother didn’t make more of an effort to tell him about his brother’s death. When he came back, he found out he had to deal with his brother’s estate & fiancée. After meeting Callie, he had the sense something was wrong. She seemed uncomfortable with anything related to his brother.
Ms. McMahon developed a complicated plot that involves your feelings & gets you invested in the story. I felt sympathy for Callie for what she’d been through & what she discovered. I understood her hurt, anger & distrust. Trace was harder to understand until he opened up. His family life was not idealistic & he had a hard time. His love for his brother did shine through. I really love this series & hope to continue to read more Rocky Point stories.
This was a fun story to read. Callie and Trace have to overcome their past distrust and learn to see each other for the person they are and not who they perceived the other to be. There was family drama thrown in the mix. This is a happily ever after story. I received a complimentary copy of this book, but have chosen to freely share my own thoughts and opinions.
Rocky Point Dawn by Barbara McMahon is the latest in her Rocky Point romance series. This is an absolutely lovely series of clean romances with a touch of religion and suitable for any reader. Callie Miller’s ex-fiancé has been dead for several months now. He wrapped himself around a tree trunk after having far too much to drink. This happened two days after she had broken off their engagement after finding him in bed with another woman. No one knew of the broken engagement or the other woman. All of a sudden there he was, standing right in front of her. But, no, it couldn’t be Tommy. He wasn’t quite right. It was Trace, his younger brother. Tommy had never mentioned they were identical twins. He was there as the executor of the will and she had some of Tommy’s paintings in her studio, preparing for the exhibit that his mother insisted she present in her gallery.
Rocky Point Dawn is a very personal book. There is not a tremendous amount of plotting involved, just the stories of people: Tommy and Callie, Tommy’s parents, Tommy’s brother, Tommy’s other woman. They were intriguing and, in some cases, heart-breaking. Even when someone betrays you, those feelings don’t evaporate, and when that person in dead almost immediately, it is worse. When one walks into a situation that he knows nothing about, it can be difficult until all the pieces are put together. People are reluctant to talk, sometimes. When a mother is hell bent on believing things that are not so, being in the midst of it can be difficult to navigate. These things and more are present in this book. Like all of McMahon’s books, there is no shortage of love and forgiveness, as well. This was an emotional read. One I thoroughly enjoyed. I recommend it.
I received a free ARC of Rocky Point Dawn from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions and interpretations contained herein are solely my own.
Callie is still getting over her betrayal and it does not help that her almost mother in law is a piece of work. Trace is in town and gives her a shock. I am not big on siblings dating the same girl/boy but considering what this story was about I liked Callie and Trace together. So much pain and sorrow and grief from parents to wade through. Loved the ending. I received a copy and this is my honest review.
The storyline was wonderfully written and the characters were so well created which made this book a very enjoyable read that I finished reading in one sitting!
I absolutely loved this book. From the title of the book to the last word in the story I was hooked. Well written. The story line was easy to follow, the characters were well developed and the descriptiveness was amazing. The story of Callie, Tommy, and Trace and their intertwined lives was just so good. I highly recommend this book to everyone. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Very different from his twin…Callie is surprised when her deceased fiancé’s twin brother appears at her art gallery. Other than his looks, Trace is very different than his twin Tommy. Trace wants to hear more about his twin that he has seldom seen recently,. Since Callie has kept secret that Tommy betrayed her and she broke the engagement days before he died. she doesn’t really want to talk about Tommy. I received a free copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. This is a small town sweet romance. I like that we knew that Callie and Trace were strongly attracted to each other and this book remained a clean romance. I love this sweet romance.
I love Barbara McMahon’s books and she didn’t disappoint with this new addition to the Rocky Point series. Callie was engaged to Tommy, but he went and wrapped his car around a tree and died. What no one knows though is that she had broken off their engagement. She caught him in bed with another woman. Imagine her surprise when Trace Warren, Tommy’s twin brother, shows up at her art gallery to collect his paintings. I won’t leave any spoilers, but I will say I loved how strong Callie was and how her actions were done to save Jocelyn, Tommy’s mom, even more grief.
ROCKY POINT DAWN….Barbara.McMahon
Callie inherited a small art gallery, the dealing with temperamental artists she didn’t like. Truth was with this artist, they both still grieved from the death of Tommy and each call brought that back. Now in the gallery was Tommy’s identical twin, another thing Tommy didn’t tell her/ his fiancé. Trace wanted her to appraise the paintings, as executor of the estate, needed to be done now, so he could get back to his work in the Amazon. Spending time together, an attraction grew. For Trace he wondered if it was like growing up, Tommy stepped in and swept a girl away. Confronting the lies and secrets Tommy had, was brought out. A love, would it grow while he was gone to finish the project, A good story that even parents may not know all about their children. A time of healing from the past and letting love come again.
Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion
This talented author gives us another engaging , clean and thoughtful romance in this series.
Callie Miller is the gallery owner in town. She is keeping a secret about the man that cheated on her. Most think she’s still grieving his death, when in fact she had broken up with him and is only doing it to protect his parents.
His twin brother Trace, arrives in town having just learned of his death and the fact he’s the trustee of the will. The attraction between them is evident. But Trace wonders if she’s attracted to him because he looks like his brother, or because she sees him for himself?
Add to that the fact that Trace was always “second best” to his brother and is not as artist as his family, and we are drawn to the dynamics of a dysfunctional family.
Will Callie and Trace be able to overcome it all, or will doubts abound and not let them reach their HEA?
A well written story with an engaging plot, and complex characters that will keep your interested from the first page to the last.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
