After Sarah returns home from solving a dangerous homicide case in Michigan, she receives a call from a nurse claiming to work for Dr. Wester, a fertility specialist Sarah has been seeing. The nurse explains that Dr. Wester wants to make an appointment to see Sarah about a new treatment plan. Excited at the prospect of finally becoming pregnant, Sarah happily agrees to the appointment. But when … when Dr. Wester turns up dead and the nurse who contacted Sarah turns out to be a vicious killer, Sarah is thrust in a dark and deep nightmare.
Caught in a terrible winter storm, Sarah and the killer are both separated from each other and forced to wait out the storm. While the wait wears on, Sarah develops a risky plan after a cop friend in Los Angeles makes a vital discovery. Sarah hopes her plan will capture the killer while killing the snowman that has been haunting her heart and dreams—a haunting snowman that came to life while Sarah worked on her very first homicide case years back.
When the storm ends, Sarah leaves for Los Angeles and sets trap for the killer—without knowing the killer has learned her deepest fear. Will Sarah capture a woman determined to kill her, or will she outwit her own fear, capture a killer, and finally become pregnant?

Point of Snow Return is another great of Wendy Meadow’s Alaska Cozy Mystery series. Each of the stories in this series is well developed and written with lots of twists and turns of the killer. Each story can be a stand-alone but it’s best to reach from the beginning to understand each character and their interactions with Sarah.
In this story, the Snowman finally comes alive for Sarah to kill in the form of a killer from Sarah’s past. Can Sarah and Conrad ever be able to have a child of their own? Can Sarah kill the Snowman from her books that keeps visiting her in her nightmare?
I am always pleased to read a book by Wendy Meadows. The characters all depend upon a strong female lead. How empowering that is. Just like the other books in the series, Ms. Meadows pulls the reader in and holds on until the very end. I truly enjoy when a book does that.

A great mystery. The relationship between the characters are very warm, sweet and caring. I’m happy to see things are working out for Sarah and Conrad until the next crime is committed. Wonder how long Pete will wait to inform Sarah of the phone call he received. Recommend the series.
We know who did the crime, just now dealing with the backstory for Sarah’s fears of snowmen.
This is a read that has suspense and keeps your attention to see what is going to happen next.

I went into this one thinking that it sounded like it would be the last one in the series. I loved how Sarah, working with Pete, Conrad and Amanda, ended up outsmarting The Snowman and Lara. Then, having had the impression in my head that this was the last, I had to read the last page 3 times to make sure I read it correctly. I can’t wait for the next one. I also can’t wait to meet the twins

I have been plagued by the snowman popping up in especially taunting ways in the last several Sarah stories.
In this twisted tale, Sarah faces her fears, the stuff of her nightmares- and we learn a bit more of the backstory that brought the snowman to life for Sarah.
Finally a chance at some resolution!
Twisted psychological thriller, strong friendships and sweet romance.
A fun combo in a twisted and snowy package!

We know the killer’s name in this mystery – now we have to see if Sarah can face her deepest fears and expel the nightmare-inducing snowman from her mind to deal with imminent danger that is closer than she thinks!
Sarah left L.A. to move to Snow Falls, Alaska, trying to forget the Snowman trauma she experienced. She is contacted by a nurse who claims she works for Dr. Wester, the fertility specialist Sarah has been seeing, and the doctor wants to meet with her. Sarah eagerly agrees to the appointment, but the doctor turns up dead. The fake nurse is actually a vicious killer, determined to seek revenge on Sarah.
With both Sarah and the killer caught in a terrible winter storm, they are kept apart from each other. But Sarah uses the time to make a plan to capture the killer and maybe at the same time kill the snowman that haunts her from her first homicide case years ago. She heads for L.A., unaware the killer is aware of what will terrify her and is ready to use it to incapacitate her. Can she capture the killer? Can she finally defeat the snowman that has been a constant presence in her mind? Or will the killer at last get the vengeance she seeks?
This is an interesting story with strong characters and an intriguing story line. The author does a great job pulling you in with the mystery and had me glued to the pages from start to finish. It’s well written, moves quickly and is a thrilling story. Great read!!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
POINT OF SNOW RETURN is another installment to Wendy Meadow’s Alaska Cozy Mystery series. Like all of her stories, this one was easy to jump right into and get to know these well developed characters and their town. The twisted mind of the killer, the surprises, intrigue and suspense make this a good page-turning mystery.
The Snowman was born in LA when Sara (Garland) Spencer almost died by a killer in a snowman mask. He has haunted and frightened her ever since. Retiring from her detective job in LA she moved to Snow Falls, Alaska thinking she could leave the Snowman behind, but he followed her. Now it’s time Sarah faced her deepest fears and confront the Snowman once and for all. The big question, can the Snowman ever be overcome, will he truly ever die? And what about the phone call that leaves Pete so shaken up?
This story is intriguing and holds your interest throughout. Get ready to enjoy this 5-star cozy mystery.

Sarah’s hopes for a baby are draining away when she hears of the death of her doctor. Conrad and Amanda are supportive, but Sarah knows there is more going on and it has to do with the evil Snowman. I love all the main characters, but especially how patient Conrad is.

Wendy Meadows has a way of writing that keeps you riveted to the story. It is very hard to put down this book, it keeps you wanting to find out what will happen next. Highly recommend this book and series to all mystery lovers.
“Far away in Anchorage, Lara Wilston tossed down a gray cell phone, walked over to a window on deadly legs, pulled back a dark green drape, and peered down at a snowy hotel parking lot. “Yes, Sarah,” she whispered, “it’s time to play…very carefully. After all, you killed the Back Alley killer…you killed my daddy. Now it’s time to make sure you suffer.” ”
Sarah’s evil snowman is back. And since they also knows that Sarah and Conrad are trying to have a baby, they are determined not to let that happen.
If she wants to end it, Sarah has to get back into LA Homicide Detective mode. She’s going to have to relive her very first case. The case that created her evil tormenting snowman. She has to outwit it, it’s time the evil dies.
I sped through Snow Return, anxious to get to the conclusion. Unlike mysteries where the focus is discovering who the killer is, Meadows gives you that at the outset. The tension is built in not knowing who will come out the victor.
[Many thanks to BookSprout and the author for the opportunity to read an Advance Reader Copy of this book. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.]
Sarah is trying to get pregnant. She is seeing a specialist and then gets a call from the Dr’s nurse about her medical appointment. Seems that the doctor has committed suicide. The nurse says she has Sarah’s medical records and will bring them to her in Snowy Falls. Sarah finds out this person is not the doctor’s nurse and this is where the true story starts getting interesting. Who is the person and why is she after Sarah? She knows a lot of information about Sarah and her past. Can Sarah beat this person at her own game and end the madness once and for all? Can Sarah find a way to have the baby she is longing for? You will have to read the book to find out. I voluntarily read a copy of this book from Booksprout.
An incredibly intense thriller!
This story is so well written that I was pulled in from the first paragraph and literally held captive to the very end! Great authors are few and far between, but somehow I have been fortunate enough to find them. Ms. Meadows has a gift for such a varying degree of stories that her books will keep you occupied for a very long time! This book is no exception. A thriller that keeps you riveted and breathless right to the very end! Fantastic read!
The author has brought back some of our favorite characters and introduced us to some new ones. Sarah is again pulled into the investigation of a murder while also trying to keep her own life on an even keel.

This is a quick read. I have not read all of the previous books in the series and I would recommend that you need to have read all of the other books first as this did not really make sense otherwise. There is too much back story and character info that is not in this book and not explained. So I could not really get into the book as it did not make sense on its own.
WOW! WOW! WOW!
What a shame that I needed sleep! Did NOT want to put book down. Best one yet!!!
Feels like a suspense/thriller not a cozy mystery. Definitely drawn into story. Who will win: Sarah, Snowman, or new crazy killer?
I admit Chapter four is a big part of it for me. Learned about Sarah and Snowman relationship.
Had this thing I was going to write, but can’t now because I don’t want to take away your enjoyment of the story. You will really want to read this for yourself and make your own interpretations as you read to see if they are true or not. That is how it worked for me.
ALL I CAN REALLY SAY IS READ THIS BOOK FOR YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!! WOW! WOW! WOW!
You can read this as a standalone if not familiar with the series. Guarantee that you will go back and catch up. As stated could probably be read in a day if you don’t start at night like I do (and need sleep, lol).
Enjoy this book!!!!!
This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.
