I Loved this book! It was a fast and easy read. I usually don’t read time-travel books but I’m really glad that I read this one. Highlander men are usually slow on the uptake but are sweet, strong, and determined. The women they fall for are usually sassy, smart, and strong-willed. The characters in this book are likable and realistic while the world is well built and colorful. The storyline has a little something for everyone: intrigue, betrayal, loss, self-doubt, trust, magic, and of course love making this a delightful read. I will definitely be reading more of Ms. Knight’s work.
Avery is a modern-day witch who doesn’t believe she can help Bhaltair and his niece successfully. Bhaltair is a reluctant 14th-century laird striving to protect his niece’s life and his clan from harm. A rival clan desires what clan MacAidh possesses and will use whatever means to attain them. They have brought in an evil witch to aid them in this endeavor.
Avery and Bhaltair have some issues they will have to work out if they hope to have their HEA. Avery will need to decide whether she’s willing to live in the middle ages. She will need to learn more about herself and her magic. Bhaltair is a man who values his simple and quiet life. He will have to decide if he will become his niece Cahda’s full-time guardian and laird for their clan.
This is the second book in the Lairds of the Isles series. This book focuses on Lila’s older sister Avery. Avery loves being a time traveling witch. She travels from time to time, never staying too long or forming long-term relationships. She is having too much fun.
However, while Avery is attending her sister’s wedding on the Isle of Skye, she finds herself transported to Arran Isle to help Bhaltair, the new Laird of the Clan protect his niece from a dark witch. Avery is not happy with the forced transport there. She also has her transporting power binded and is forced to stay there for at least two days.
While Avery is at the castle, she finds herself growing closer to not Bhaltair but his niece. Now Avery just needs to believe enough in herself to help her kill the dark witch and save Bhaltair from a possible traitor in his clan.
I received an ARC of this ebook to read and give an honest review.
This is a fast paced page turning story. There is not a single lull in the story. Everything continues to flow throughout the pages. The story is fun and charming. The characters are all written with depth and personalities.
I look forward to reading the next book written by Stella Knight!
I enjoyed reading this book, the characters were extremely likeable, didn’t know exactly how it would end. Hope we might see Bhaltair and Avery and their family again later in life.
Avery loved traveling in time, but only as an observer. She never imagined she would be expected to defend a family from a dark witch out to harm them. Nor did she imagine the draw she would feel for that family. Will she give in to destiny or go back to her solitary travels once this is over?
Absolutely wonderful story! I fell in love with these characters, especially Cadha. I received an ARC of this book and am leaving my honest opinion.
The second book in the Lairds of the Isles time travel series brings Avery and Bhaltair’s story. The author once again brings strong characters and takes you on a magical journey through time as Avery,a witch meeting and helping Scotsman, Bhaltair. She brings an exciting story filled with magic and danger as well as the romance. She had me glued to the pages with all the twists and turns throughout along with her vividly painted scenes. I loved this book and would highly recommend reading.
