A little dare never hurt anybody…My whole life’s been about following in my parents’ footsteps: ace school and then get into med school. And that means that my dream to become a world-famous artist isn’t part of the plan. Neither is the game of spin-the-bottle that leads me to the second most humiliating moment of my life with Mason Finnick. The brooding, obviously heartbroken, and ridiculously … Finnick.
The brooding, obviously heartbroken, and ridiculously talented point guard of the Rock Valley High basketball team.
And better yet – thanks to my parents and their plan, we’re stuck in the same class together.
But I’ve got one mission for the rest of senior year that will make everyone happy: ace this class and convince Mason to be the guinea pig for Project Happiness. He’ll win his ex back and I’ll get to go to art camp this summer.
Should be easy!
But Mason has a way of getting under my skin.
And the smoldering way he looks at me makes me want to ditch the plan.
If I can’t pull myself together, I might just ruin everything.
Or, I might just find that letting go can be the best part of life.
This is Trina’s story – a sweet young adult romance in the Rock Valley High series of stand-alone novels.

A easy read. It kept my attention and was fun. The second book in the series, it shares a lot of similarities to the first one. But was still unique. It was nice to see the characters from the first story. And since this one takes place after the first, there is more to them. Good book.
Dare You to Date the Point Guard is a satisfyingly sweet teen romance with some great life lessons wrapped in a wonderful story.
I sympathized with Trina and her desire to see everyone else find happiness even at her own expense. Sometimes we don’t see ourselves as we really are and neglect our own needs for the sake of others. She quickly learns that somewhere down the road this will crash and burn. Not only will it affect her but those around her.
Mason is a sweetheart wrapped in a grumpy protective armor. He must balance keeping a secret with desire to live his life fully. Keeping a secret may not be the best way, but it’s the choice he makes. The problem is secrets can backfire.

I’m not usually into teen romances, but I’m definitely reading this whole series! I really enjoyed this book. In fact, I stayed up through the night to finish it! I loved the connection that Mason and Trina had. How they always put the others feelings first, even if they were wrong about what the other truly wanted. There were lessons to be learned in this book for both young and old alike.
Like the first book in the series, this story is well-written, and despite dealing with serious issues it is still sweet and occasionally funny, with likeable characters. Again, all the drama comes to a Hallmark-worthy resolution, and that’s one of the reasons this series has become an auto-buy for when I need a feel-good read. 🙂
ONE EXTREMELY ENJOYABLE TREAT!!!
Ah snap! Lacy nailed this incredibly sensational storyline and gripping plot with 100% on point realism, melding this gem together piece by piece. Observing the instant realization and charged atmosphere, along with a bevy of shocking twists and stunning turns, testing our characters in ways they could have never imagined. Exposing the drama, turmoil, intrigue, misgivings and mounting suspense, along with a boatload of trouble and perplexing situations, you have one block busting, fun-filled adventure. Anarchy, escapades and havoc run amuck, kicking this gem into a tempest, bursting it into a hissy with a mind-blowing culmination. The dynamics and presentation in layer upon layer that you peel back with each page your drawn into this web so deep until everything else ceases to exist. The characters are authentic, genuine and realistic with depth and individuality that feels like you can just reach out and touch them. The scenes are so graphically detailed and descriptive it’s like being transported to ground zero with them. Remarkable job Lacy, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
