I have read several books by Seyna and she writes the cutes short novellas.
Ava came to California to go school; she is from Senegal and decided to stay after finishing school. She is forty-three years old and is divorced and a plus size dynamite with all the curves in all the right places.
Ava has a Christmas tradition of dining solo at a quaint restaurant not far from her apartment. This Christmas seems to be no different from previous Christmas except while Ava is having dinner, she spots a Hot Asian guy dining across from her, whom she thinks is not paying any attention to her. Annie Ava’s friend and waitress at the restaurant comes to her table and informs her that said hot Asian guy has just paid for her dinner and left his business card with his cell phone number. Ava states that she’s not interested.
Cole Nguyen is a millionaire who is dining alone and seems to have forgotten that it’s the Christmas season.
This is a hot, steamy romance that the title fits to a T, Cole In My Stocking. If you’re looking for a fast quick read then this is the book.
Cute and steamy. Just the way I like it.
I’m a sucker for a good instalove romance, and Imani Jay did not disappoint. Read it for yourself, and enjoy!
I liked Cole and Av. This one the passion though wasn’t as intense as the others for me. Don’t get me wrong, it was good but it wasn’t over the top smokin’ as I’ve read from the others. I think Cole was more into the relationship than Ava. That’s at least how I read into it. Also I’ve come to realize Imani has a thing for West Africa . Lots of her female leads tend to originate from that part of the world. Cool though, I’ve never met anyone from West Africa. It’s cool to read books based in California. Living in California myself it’s cool to read about cities I’ve been to. Usually books takes place on the east coast. Places I’ve never been. But Imani’s books I can relate, gives me something else to grasp onto as I read her stories because I can visualise more when she describes things or when she mentions a city and I can get the feel for the atmosphere. The grind of its people, the hustle and bustle . This novella was in typical Imani fashion, short and erotic to the point. I just think the Cole loved her more. This one was a HFN ending. Which is fine, because that’s a real life scenario and a real life ending. Based on that it’s still a 5 star read to me. I still enjoyed Cole and Ava. But if I was looking at them down the line I would truly wonder if they’d last. . This bear gave this book 5 stars .
I love the start of this story! I got a clear picture of who Ava is and Cole made a great first impression. He’s a gentleman in public and demanding in other arenas while letting Ava know that he wants more. I enjoyed this short, insta-attraction romance for it’s realistic dialogue, multi-cultural characters (African & Vietnamese), humor and sizzling chemistry. It’s told from Ava’s POV with descriptive details and a few editing issues that don’t detract from the story. About 25 pages of a little sweet, a lot of heat and a HEA in this Christmas romance!
