Beauty meets Beast in a case of mistaken identity, a fake relationship, and very real chemistry… shows up on the set of my new show. Insta-lust like I’ve never felt before completely takes me by surprise. I’m talking a full head-to-toe rush of heat, fluttering stomach, every nerve ending alive.
This is a problem. I have a boyfriend, and this is supposed to be a professional relationship. I’m as awkward as a teenager trying to figure out how I’m going to handle close proximity to the man.
And then my real bodyguard shows up.
Garrett
I was visiting my sister-in-law on set when Harper Ellis invited me to her trailer. She’s a beauty, all right. A little shy and very sweet. We really connected, so I didn’t want to spoil the moment by admitting I wasn’t her bodyguard.
Her real guard shows up and I figure that’s the end of it. Turns out she’s got a boyfriend. But then they breakup and the fallout makes people feel sorry for her (the guy cheated on her in a public way). To save face she claims she was seeing me.
I don’t care if we’re faking a relationship for the good PR, the chemistry is real, and I start thinking we have a future. Until her show gets cancelled and she gets a new job an ocean away.
How do you hang onto someone who can’t be tied down? I’m about to find out.
This romantic comedy stands alone with a swoonworthy happily-ever-after!

Rogue Beast by the talented Kylie Gilmore was a fun and exciting read I absolutely loved this book. A very well written story with some well developed characters. I found myself smiling and laughing and totally enjoying myself. Garrett is the baby of the Rourke family and is a romantic kind of guy, when Harper Ellis mistook him for someone he isn’t he can’t stop himself from going along with her assumption plus he is kind of drawn to the shy and sweet beauty. Harper knows people believe her to be like the character she portrayed on tv which brings out the stalkers so she hires a bodyguard and when she see the handsome bodyguard coming towards her she feel instant attraction. Sometimes things are not what they seem. This is just the start to a great story and one heck of a great ending to a wonderful series. I highly recommend this book.
The Rogue Beast is my favorite Rogue book! I looked forward to reading Garret’s story and loved it. Garret is the baby of the family and a big teddy bear. Harper a famous TV star mistakes him for her bodyguard and they strike up a friendship. I enjoyed reading Garret and Harper’s love story and his ability to charm women. You will laugh and throughly enjoyed reading this book and all the Rogue Royal books by Kylie Gilmore. I received this book as an arc for an honest review of it.
I was so excited to read the last Rourke book with a take on Beauty and the Beast! I have never loved a series as much as this. With incredibly hot royals and the sweet, sassy, independant women that love them, this series is not to be missed!
Actress Harper Ellis has good reason to be cautious. Both parents abandoned her leaving to be raised by a strict grandmother, and her career has only attracted men that use her for the fame she brings them. Then there are the crazies that have resulted in her needing to hire security. When she sees the muscle-bound man heading towards her trailer on set she automatically assumes he is her new bodyguard.
Mistaken identity never felt so good to Garrett Rourke. Taken in by the tough, curly haired woman has him playing along in fun. Evidently she didn’t see the fun in it. But he couldn’t ignore the chemistry he felt and saw in her eyes as well. Getting through her tough exterior will take patience and work. She’s sensitive, like Garrett, so he’ll take as long as necessary to prove he isn’t like her past boyfriends.
But when Garrett finds a new career interest will all of Harper’s previous insecurities return?
I received an ARC and voluntarily offer this review.
Another Brooklyn royal hit for Kylie! 5 royal stars for this one!
Here we get Garrett’s story, the baby of the brood of boys! He’s got the biggest heart, yet feels like his family overlooks him when it comes to their construction business. When he stops in on set to visit his sister in law, he meets the woman of his dreams, fellow actress Harper. He’s instantly attracted to her, but she says she has a boyfriend.
When these two are thrown together, the sparks combust, but can Harper trust that he’s not just trying to gain an acting career out of being seen with her? Can Garrett convince her he’s in it for the long haul? Read along and find out!
I’m sad to see the royals go, maybe a holiday book will be written about them? Fingers crossed! This was such a great series, start at the beginning and sit back and enjoy all their stories!
Garrett was the gentlest soul of all the Brooklyn Rourke’s. Thoughtful, brain, and brawn. There wasn’t a dry seat in the house when he opened his mouth and nothing but respect and truth came out. He never lied to Harper and did everything in his power to prove he was different event when things heated up.
I would admit at times Harper ticked me off because she used her past experiences a little too much. Beast NEVER showed ill intent and even asked her opinion genuinely. He was like me in thinking she understood his ultimate goal. He wanted to find HIS spot. He was tired of being overlooked and tried to make his own mark as well as be there for his family.
In actuality they both had insecurities but in different aspects of their life. The plus side was that Beast read Harper like an open book and taught her to accept who she was and not be scripted all the time. That was a great hidden lesson. For some reason Joan did a work of art on her psychic but the heart to heart helped with that too….
I will miss the brothers but know we will get glimpse of them in the next series.
The last Rourke brother finds love. This is a beautiful story of finding love by accident. Harper has been unlucky in previous relationships and she finds it hard to believe that Garrett is as wonderful as he seems. After a whirlwind romance and a lot of misunderstandings these two finally get their HEA with a surprise.
Rogue Beast is Garrett’s story. He feels like he’s been overlooked by his brothers in their construction business. He’s still on the crew where they are all in management. He’s not sure whether construction is what he wants to do for the rest of his life or if he just fell into it. A case of mistaken identity means he’s introduced to Harper Ellis. He’s attracted instantly & by luck, ends up going to a charity affair with her. As their relationship develops, he learns about all of her insecurities & accidentally pushes the wrong buttons. Can he make it up to her?
Harper can’t believe she jumped into this agreement with Garrett. She’s so tired of men dating her to move their careers ahead & then dumping her. She’s determined not to let anyone else close. Garrett just managed to sneak under those barriers she put in place. She’s attracted & tried to give him a chance. When her insecurities caused her to lash out, instead of being understanding, he broke it off! Was she wrong about him? Did she make a big mistake?
I really enjoyed this story. It was a true look at dating with all of the normal hang ups & miscommunications. I really enjoyed General, or Queen, Joan. Her attitude was all elderly spunk but you could feel the love for her granddaughter showing through. I loved the respect that Garrett showed to her. The appearances by the rest of the Rourke family add depth & humor to the plot. I really enjoyed this story & cant wait to learn more about Wyatt Winters!
This is the 12th and final book in the Rourke series. This book has a little bit of everything – sweet moments, fan your face steamy, a bit of hilarity, tearful scenes, and heart squeezing love. Garrett is the youngest of the Brooklyn Rourkes. He is called Beast because of his muscles on top of muscles but despite his outward appearance, he is really just a sweet softie. Garrett meets actress Harper Ellis while he is visiting his SIL on the set of her tv series. Harper mistakes Garrett for her new bodyguard newly hired because of a stalker. There is instant sizzling chemistry between the two but Harper has a boyfriend so nothing happens. After Harper is dumped by her cheating boyfriend she chokes and to save face acts like it was a mutual decision to see other people and announces that she is dating Garrett. In order to save her reputation, Garrett agrees to be her fake boyfriend until the story dies down. On their way to their HEA, they each must deal with their own issues and past baggage – Garrett thinking his family does not value his contribution in the family construction business and trying to find the right career path for him and Harper feeling used in her past relationships and having difficulty trusting – and together build a strong, healthy and respectful relationship. Since this is the final book in the series there is some wrap up with the characters from previous books but this does not detract from the main storyline, instead, it just adds to the richness of Garrett and Harper’s story. With Rogue Beast, Kylie Gilmore again proves she a master of swoon worthy tales.
This was a sexy, fun, emotional and action packed adventure filled with engaging and witty charters, fun dialog, heart racing twists, exciting turns and unforgettable passion. Really loved this visit with the Rourkes and most of all watching Garrett and Harper’s heartwarming fall.
This is the final book of this series and I couldn’t be more sad. I wasn’t ready to say good bye. I should mention that this book can be read as a stand-alone. Garrett is the youngest of the Rourke brothers. It is through a case of mistaken identity that he meets the famous actress Harper Ellis. She is an uptight actress with more baggage than a 747. Garrett in his swoony way breaks through all her walls. This story had me laughing out loud and sighing with a hand over my heart. Love everything about it.
Garrett and Harper’s story in Rogue Beast by Kylie Gilmore, book twelve in The Rourkes series, was a comedy of errors; giving emotions a reason to smile. Garrett and Harper are a mistake in the making that somehow turns out to make perfect sense. Even as your heart breaks and your eyes well up with tears, Ms Gilmore finds a way to make you laugh with more than a little heartwarming cheer.
Garrett is the baby in this family of boys. He has the biggest heart, yet feels like his family overlooks him when it comes to their construction business; he was never given a role like the others. When he stops in on the television set to visit his sister-in-law, he meets the woman of his dreams, fellow actress Harper. He’s instantly attracted to her, but despite getting a vibe that she’s interested in him, she says she has a boyfriend; who just broke up with her. Harper and Garrett have off the chart chemistry and the electricity they generate could supply the television stage. Harper has been burned before and fears that Garrett is using her to gain access to an acting career. Garrett will need to pull out the big gums to convince her that he’s in it for the long haul.
Since this book is the end of a series, we do get a few peeks into how the other Rourkes are doing, which was totally fun. Also, the Saga of the Serving Spoon is finally resolved as well as the Puzzle of the Painting. Best of all, some of the characters from the next series are introduced. A great end to an awesome series!
Ms. Gilmore wrote a wonderful and moving story that is definitely not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sizzling chemistry, challenging situations, and charming characters giving Garrett and Harper a chance to have it all. I recommend Rogue Beast to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Rogue Beast is the last of the Rourke books, and as it turns out, one of my favourites. Garrett, known as Beast to family and friends, is one of the sweetest, most sensitive of Kylie’s heroes, and when he meets Harper, he is immediately drawn to her. Harper, is an actress that has fought hard to make a career, and been used by past boyfriends to advance their careers. As the get to know one another, Harper, has to let go of past hurts, so they can find their happily ever after. You don’t want to miss this wonderful story. five full stars.
I’ve been looking forward to Garrett’s book for quite a while since he is the end of the series. It did not disappoint. Garrett is such a sweetheart! He is so thoughtful to Harper. This matters because Harper is used to being alone without tenderness. She has a hard time believing that Garrett is genuine, and that causes problems for them. But help comes from an unexpected source, and true love wins the day.
The biggest surprise in the book was the chemistry between Garrett and Harper. They are such nice people, but when they get together, there is combustion. I know I blushed a couple of times.
Because it is the end of a series, we get little glimpses into how the other Rourkes are doing, and that was fun. Plus, the Saga of the Serving Spoon is resolved as well as the Puzzle of the Painting. I really enjoyed the scenes where the Rourke familys are laughing together. Also, there are some introductions to characters in the new series, and I am very curious about them. A great end to an awesome series!
Garret and Harper love story is amazing! Everything seems to happen too fast between them. Garret is charming, sexy and cool. He really wants to take it slow… Harper has had her heart broken too many times, as many of her exes only used her to get ahead with their careers. She’s not looking for a new romance right after the last break up, but as sweet and sensitive as she is, she couldn’t resist the passion Garret incites. In this story we get to follow the Brooklin Rourkes family getting bigger, the mention of old characters from Happy Endings Book Club series, and great new characters are introduced, with special mention to Harper’s grandmother, who has a striking personality. I just can’t wait for Kylie’s new series!!
The last of this book series. I’m heartbroken!
Harper mistakes Garrett of being her new bodyguard. She tries hard to make a good impression while trying harder to not let him see the immediate lust for him she feels.
Garrett is just as attracted to Harper but doesn’t want to correct her on why he’s on the lot of Harper’s new TV show. He can feel their instant connection and is enjoying being near her, talking with her and seeing her sweetness too much to end that connection too soon. Until her actual bodyguard arrives.
Harper has a really hard time trusting. Garrett doesn’t want to be a rebound guy. They’re both sensitive souls which made it so great when they were on the same page and frustrating when they weren’t. I loved their bond and how Harper had no choice but to fall in love with Garrett. Of course, the road to true love never runs smoothly.
What I also loved about this book was meeting up with the other brothers and checking in on their lives too. I so enjoy Kylie’s stories. Makes me believe in true love and its longevity.
The Rourke’s go out the way they came in. With heart, humor and irresistible charm. I’m more than a little sad to say goodbye, but anxiously awaiting what comes next. Rogue Beast is a comedy of errors that gives emotions a reason to smile. Garrett and Harper are a mistake in the making that somehow turns out to make perfect sense. Even as your heart breaks and your eyes well up with tears, Gilmore finds a way to make you laugh with more than a little heartwarming cheer.
