This is book 2 in Greenwood’s Grimalkin Academy Stakes series and continues on from book one with Lilys story. This author provides us with another well written paranormal short read that will not disappoint in the storyline, flow and amazing characters.

This was a great continuation to the first book and the growth Lily has gone through is amazing. I loved her and Bryce getting to be official but the threats aren’t over and I enjoyed reading this.
I am really loving this series. This story was really easy to get lost in and I loved most of the characters, not the bad ones of course. I am really drawn to Lily and how she is so determined and resilient. There was adventure and a little danger and the love story draws me in and has me routing for the characters to have a happy ending. This is a great paranormal story and series!!

Yes! After the previous book, that didn’t feel like the first book in the series, but more like a prequel, I was already hoping that the pace would pick up in this book and that in this book there would be more plot and more excitement. So, this morning, when I had barely any reading time since I had to pack my bags to go back home after a long and lovely vacation at my parents, I picked this book up looking forward to what was to come.
And Greenwood did certainly NOT disappoint at all! The book picks up where the previous book ended and that means that the build up, introducing the characters and their relationship, showing us the current world in the aftermath of previous happenings, is now leading somewhere. The plot is very clearly moving forward now. Our main character is purposely doing more dangerous things and that leads to more excitement while reading.
I have to admit that I didn’t read the previous books and although I think it’s perfectly possible to enjoy this series and these characters when this is your first series with them, you will certainly enjoy it more if you at least read the Baker trilogy first. From the afterword I understand all characters have already been introduced in this series and we constantly get mentions of what has happened to them, which also means I’m now spoiled for the Baker series too.
However, I really enjoy these characters and even though I miss some background on them I do feel connected to them and I love the struggles they’re facing and how they’re dealing with everything that life throws at them. Especially Lily is very easy to like and therefore very easy to root for. I think it will be quite interesting to have seen her like this, to have been in her head and to have read her story, before seeing her in the Baker trilogy.
And after that cliffhanger, which I already knew was coming, I can’t wait for the next book!
Lily’s story continues as she tries to get used to her new life. The story continues to be fresh and interesting and the characters are still well done.
Lily finally got what she wanted, now she has to deal with it.
Laura is a fascinating author, she has yet to disappoint. It is a pleasure to read her work.

Lily has been adjusting to her life as a vampire. She and Bryce are now an official item. Lily is upset that the person responsible doesn’t face proper punishment. Lily wants her to pay for taking her human life. When Emma starts talking to Lily, she keeps her cool. She realizes that she can infiltrate this group that Emma is involved in. While trying to come up with plans for with with Bryce, she is having visions of a last person she expected.
This was a great read. You will see this character grow from where she was in the last book. Her relationship with Bryce adds to it. You will enjoy the story. I am looking forward to the final book in this series.

This is the second book in the series and it continues in the same strong manner as book 1.
Lily is a great character and the storyline invites you immerse yourself in her story.
The guest characters are great to see. This book and series are recommended.
I am finding Lily’s resilience remarkable and admirable. I can’t help but think that there are other people who have been in her shoes (poor foster care comes to mind) who do not have Lily’s determination to make the best of her situation. Still as always, when things begin to improve, life has to rain lemons and Ravi counts as a pretty big lemon. I’m looking forward to seeing how Lily deals with him.

This was a short story continuing kilts trials and tribulations as Grimalkins. I still like the characters but found the story a bit lacking in this one.
