The last Travis brother, Jack, is at center stage in this steamy, sexy novel from New York Times bestselling author Lisa Kleypas, Smooth Talking Stranger. Jack Travis leads the uncomplicated life of a millionaire Texas playboy. He makes no commitments, he loves many women, he lives for pleasure. But no one has ever truly touched his heart or soul. Until one day, a woman appears on his doorstep … woman appears on his doorstep with fury on her face and a baby in her arms. It seems Jack is the father and this woman is the baby’s aunt. The real mother has abandoned the child to her more responsible sister. And now, Jack is being called upon to take responsibility for the first time in his life.
With delicious romantic tension, characters so real they walk onto the page and into your heart, Lisa Kleypas delivers the kind of novel that makes you laugh, love; cry and cheer.

5 out of 5 stars!! This story of Ella & Jack I just LOVED!! The way he just swooped in and took care of her, even when she didn’t want it, was wonderful and soo sweet to read! I will say that when she’s doing the hunt on who’s Luke’s father and she’s confronting a man who is described to be blond … I knew exactly who Luke’s father was before the 5 or more chapters later confirmed it. Basically for my first time reading something/anything by Lisa Kleypas I got to say I was impressed! I’ll definitely have to check out more of her books.

This was a delightful romance in the Travis family. I skipped the book on Haven so I had no idea they were together. This book is about Ella and Jack stuck with a Ella’s baby. The romance is believable and progresses gradually as Ella’s sister dumps the baby with her and leaves. The little baby Luke is the cutest and the entire Travis family coming together to help Ella is nice. This book also sets up Joe’s story next and that’s why the ending. Overall, uplifting romance. And Kleypas’s description is magnificent. I still can’t get over how she describes someone’s cat eyeline as two check marks. LOL.
Ella, the first-person narrator, is a very liberated woman who rejects traditional norms, but she really didn’t know what she was missing until motherhood was thrust upon her unexpectedly in the form of her abandoned infant nephew, closely followed by her meeting Jack. Both Baby Luke and Jack were only supposed to be a temporary part of her life, but they worm their way into her heart. Jack is one of Houston’s most eligible bachelors, but none of the women he’s dated know who the real Jack is until Ella storms into his life. I loved Jack for being patient, supportive, and great father material. This was a classic opposites-attract romance that was very well-written.
This book hit all my romance reader cookies. Loved it!!
Loved this book. I wish Lisa would write more contemporary romance novels.
3.75 stars
Don’t you just hate it when you reread a book, and it isn’t as amazing as it was the first time you read it! At least I didn’t end up hating it, 3.75 stars isn’t that bad. I loved Jack, he was my favorite character in this book. Ella was okay, her “I don’t need commitment” got a bit annoying at times. However, I could see where she was coming from looking at her past. She was very responsible, took on her new born nephew and did a great job caring for him. Luke was just the cutest baby! I just LOVE babies/kids in books. The reason I didn’t end up going crazy about this book was, because there was not a lot going on. I even skipped a couple of pages towards the end. Maybe I wasn’t completely in the mood for a contemporary romance. But I don’t think I’ll ever rate this book 5 stars again.
