This book could had been much worse, but there is redemption for both the book as well as its hero and heroine.
I would have given this book 2.5 stars, but it does have some redeeming qualities… if that much. For some reason, I kept thinking that I wasn’t as satisfied when I came to the end as I should had been. Oh, the ending was clever and original. (Trust me!!) But it’s like something was missing in the middle.
As I have mentioned in my reviews of Books #1-#5, these should had been part of an anthology, not as single short stories. (I would have appreciated if they had been longer.) I just saw that the author has now combined them into a box set. Nope. Anthology. Get them out all at the same time. And there are STILL stories to be done in this series to be cut short because of the box set. Bad news. Kind of like the Talking Giant Carrot oft seen in failing sci-fi series back in the 1960s-1970s. Once this critter has made its appearance, you know the series is dead.
We get a chance to understand a little about Rachel and about her disastrous affair with Tommy who was embarrassed to death to be discovered dating her. Sure, she is all mouth and all presence, but she is the most loving and caring individual out of any of the housekeeping pods. But Tommy had to be a dork and not appreciate the gem of a woman that is Rachel and humiliated her in front of all her friends by denying ever being in a relationship with her. That earned him the enmity of all the BBWs in A-Pod housekeepers. This story is his attempt to apologize to her.
We find out more about Luke and Emily’s baby that’s on the way.
Still the same issues with editing (or lack thereof). No need to rehash that out.
I would read this on KU. I wouldn’t buy it unless it really pushed some keeper buttons, but it didn’t for me. I will say that I would hope that Ava Greene would continue the series.
In this last book about what is happening in the Evergreen Hotel this season. As well as finding out what happened last season that will satisfy the questions from the season before. Luke and Emily are working on their relationship. Natty and Mark are trying for something. Rachel gets to confront Tommy who is back. Aje has her quiet as kept thing going on as well. Beth is causing some havoc. Trish and Platt have to figure out how this will work for them. Interesting story line, characters were interesting. I was given an ARC as a gift from the author without obligation. I am providing an honest review.
