I’ve been reading Jane Austen fanfiction for years, ever since my daughter introduced me to it. Somehow, I had missed this when it came out as a serialized version, but I am glad I found the complete novel so I didn’t have to wait for the installments! I loved seeing the eldest Bennet daughters and Aunt Gardiner living in Mayfair and partaking in all that the ton had to offer. Mrs. Bennet is slightly less silly than in canon, but she is still a fun character. If you enjoy Jane Austen fanfiction as much as I do, you might find reading this very different variation to be a pleasant way to spend a weekend.
I was gifted this as an eARC but this is my honest opinion.
This is a great, creative retelling of a beloved classic. A lot of the story in general remains the same as the original, but just a few added twists turns this into a fresh, new story. I fell in love with Pride and Prejudice all over again! I was completely captivated by the storytelling and couldn’t put it down. I enjoyed seeing the characters in a new light and I really loved Darcy and Elizabeth’s characters. Elizabeth is strong-willed when it comes to protecting her own, but also a bit vulnerable when it comes to her feelings for Darcy and that really made her character shine. Darcy seemed a bit less pompous, which was really nice, but is still hard to read – true to his original character. Ms. David did a lovely job of bringing the story and characters to life and the story was absolutely delightful. I’m looking forward to the next book Ms David will bring us! Highly recommend!

All 35 chapters plus epilogue compiled in one.
The story started with Jane in London and still in despair over losing mr BIngley. Mrs. Garciner asked Lizzy to come and to them and help Jane. They both find themselves enjoying a season chaperoned by Mrs. Gardiner. Then they ot reacquainted with Mr Darcy and Mr. Bingley. They also met Giana, Peter, Josh, Lady Cressida, Arabelle to name a few. Mr Darcy continued to fight his feelings for Lizzy while Lizzy was falling for him. There was a time he intentionally avoided her. (spoiler) A sort of compromise almost happened that brough the two together. And then a HEA.
Lengthy but enjoyable story of ODC. Highly recommend it to P & P fans.

A Regency Pride and Prejudice Variation this is a change from the stories that usually are a variation to P&P. A fresh new telling that makes this story a joy to read. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
It is amazing how changing a few details can make a timeless story feel completely new. Establishing London as the setting brought a whole new twist to things that happened. I loved how there was more dialogue and interaction all of the characters in general. It was also satisfying to hear both Darcy and Elizabeth‘s inner thoughts as they vacillated back-and-forth in their feelings. As well, I really enjoyed the expand a list of characters involved in the story. With so many details changing, I couldn’t put the book down. It was gratifying to see how things played out in the end and extending into the epilogue showing a HEA

This book picks up after Bingley and Darcy have left Netterfield and returned to London.
It is interesting but, if you have read other retellings this brings nothing really new to the table.
It is well-written but the P & P world is so well known, there isn’t a lot that can be changed. Given what the author is working with, she did well and won’t upset P & P purists.
