An emotional story, but in a good way––”G-d is good” tears.
Lots of praying and Bible quoting going on within the story… very organic to their lives, not preachy at all.
A Time to Heal is a story of struggle and being who you really are when life throws a life-changing curve your way.
The story centers around Landon, a Marine vet who lost everything to war including his leg. He returns home depressed, in pain and ready to let life and love pass him by.
When he’s invited to Thanksgiving with his friend he doesn’t expect to be attracted to his sister. As he gets to know Raven he battles between hope and the feeling that he’ll never be enough. He helps reunite her with her father, but can he also find healing?
This book takes a candid look at the emotions amputees deal with as they face life after surgery.
With a HEA and plenty of heart this novella is great when you don’t have a lot of time for a full length novel.
A Time to Heal by Rose Verde was gripping, not allowing to put my kindle down. Throughout the read, my heart went out to Landon, the wounded Marine who returned from Afghanistan missing a leg and in danger of losing another. Now he’s only half a man and battles intense pain daily. When his Marine buddy, Alex Jamison invites him to his home for Thanksgiving, Landon agrees and discovers something he’s never had—a family.
Raven Jamison has plans for her life, and it doesn’t include Landon, but he captures her heart all too soon. Yet, any hope of a life with Landon whose heart and body are broken, is impossible.
The novel of love, family, and forgiveness is sure to capture your affection. You’ll surely want to read Rose’s next book: A Time to Laugh.
This is such a beautiful, encouraging love story full of faith, forgiveness, and coming closer to our Lord and Savior through suffering. You can’t help falling in love with all of the characters as you read A Time to Heal. Raven and Landon are fantastic as the main characters, but this is the kind of book where you feel like you have fallen into the pages and been swept away right into the story – I now want to know all about EVERYONE!
This story gives a view of the struggles & healing process involved after a war wound while still grabbing my attention & is a very enjoyable read! With Landon’s future is still uncertain, how can he possibly put Raven (who has claimed and important part of his heart) through what he faces.
This is a refreshing look into faith as life insists on more twists & turns.
I requested a review copy of this book & am happy to encourage you to read this because I believe you will enjoy it.
Landon comes to visit his best friend and meets Raven his bff sister. A really sweet christian romance but also about learning how to trust the Lord and accept love from others.
This book touched my heart. My sister was an amputee and had to deal with the trauma and pain that comes with this. Landon’s battle was well described and realistic. Raven is caring and loving, just what Landon needs even if he isn’t ready for it. I loved this story.
Thanksgiving day, time to reunion for the family.
Raven returns home, her brother Alex with Marine friend Landon, aunts and cousin come to visit at Grams house.
nice short book, attractive and original.
As for Landon, the good feeling of a home and family, that many people take it for granted, is a blessing. enjoy the book.
A Time to Heal – Rose Verde
Be still my heart! I love how Raven finds her own emotional healing as Landon struggles and leans on God for his physical healing! My salute to military men and women through all time!
Raven struggles with abandonment issues. Raven and her mother were abandoned by her father, before Raven was even born. He was only interested in her brother. Her mother was addicted to prescription painkillers to the point that she died, thus abandoning Raven for her drugs. Raven was raised by her grandmother.
Landon is living with survivor’s guilt and PTSD after he and his bomb dog failed to find an IED in Afghanistan.
Such a sweet Christ-centered story about how with God two broken pieces can find hope in him and each other.
A perfect title for a perfect book about a family that needs to heal from their parents divorce and father leaving and a wounded Marine who needs to heal from his injuries. I enjoyed the hope this book brought that families can heal and overcome past mistakes and start over again and that a wounded soldier could overcome his loss and PTSD to start over again with new hope, a new job, a new beginning and love. A wonderful story with wonderful characters in Raven Jamison and Landon Kendall. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
A Time to Heal is an inspiring, romance. Landon and Raven are wonderful as the main characters, but I fell in love with this family and want to know more about all of them. This book is a Christian romance that never preaches. It overflows with love, warmth, faith, forgiveness and loving God. I could not put it down.
Coming home from military duty injured is traumatic. Rejected by a girl makes it worse. There is conflict with a new girlfriend because he fears rejection if his handicap becomes more than she anticipates. There is also a conflict between 2 children & their father. I enjoyed this fast read since God does promise there is a time for healing.
this is a wonderful story about a wounded veteran and the sister of his friend, can they help each other while they travel the path God put them on. I was given a copy of the book but this is an honest review.
