You don’t know who are the real good guys or bad guys??
It kept you guessing until the nd. Very entertaining.
Kept me guessing…hard to put down.
Good basic whodunnit with some interesting twists. Great summer read.
A normal morning for a normal couple, having their coffee and looking forward to the next hours of their day. Someone calls at the front door and it takes just a second for everything Erin thought she knew to be turned upside down.
Her husband jumps out of their fourth-floor apartment when his partner in the police department comes in to arrest Dany for a crime that remains unsolved for a good part of the book.
If that got your attention like me, you must read this book. I simply couldn’t stop reading. And just when I thought I had it all predicted and gotten all caught up with what really happened in the past and moreso why, there’s another shocking twist that comes around to destroy everything I thought I knew.
Told in now and then parts, it’s a fast-paced novel with interesting characters and if you enjoy a suspense story with many twists and turns, this book is a brilliant choice.
The Perfect Lie is the Perfect Read!
The Perfect Lie starts out with a an opening that makes your jaw drop and you just know that this book will keep you guessing, the pages turning.
Erin’s husband jumps to his death after his fellow police officers come knocking at their door.
There is a conspiracy of silence around Danny’s death, no fellow police officer comes to his funeral.
How is it that Erin is on trial for murdering her husband some 18 months later.
That’s all I am saying.
Jo Spain is one of my favourite authors and her books never disappoint. Perfect Lies is at the top of the list for me.
Put The Perfect Lies on the top of your TBR list, clear your calendar , turn off your phone and enjoy.
Thanks to Net Galley and Quercus Books for book that never stops until the last page.
Beginning with her husband’s suicide, we soon discover that The Perfect Life is really a story about the wife’s murder trial. Jo Spain presents this psychological thriller from two different time perspectives – before and after the husband’s death. Erin Kelly fled Ireland after a family tragedy and married a police detective. As the mystery deepens, she is baffled by what he has done and is determined to solve the secrets of her husband’s life. The characters are believable and the encompassing connections reveal of a suspenseful story. A most enjoyable twisted tale with a three-and-a-half-star rating. With thanks to NetGalley and the author for a preview copy for review purposes. All opinions expressed herein are bias free and totally my own.
This book was given to me by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
When Danny jumps out of his apartment window in front of his wife, Erin, and fellow police officers, Erin is at a loss as to why. Fast forward a little over a year later and now she is trial for the murder of her husband.
This was the first book I had read by this author even though I have a few in my TBR and I must say I was not disappointed. This is told from 3 different timelines, THEN, NOW and HARVARD 2016. I didn’t figure out what was going on until 90% through this book. This story meshed together in a way that was creative. It tells a lot about a person and what they can do when faced with injustice. Thank you NetGalley, Quercus and Jo Spain!
