This is the first book in this series that I have read, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Dotty is an engaging character and her family and friends are a very diverse set, all well written.
The mystery around the theft of a diamond necklace and and a murder is well crafted and keeps the guilty party hidden up to the end.
This is an enjoyable cosy mystery, a little bit like a slightly light 21st century Agatha Christie story.
I received an advance copy of this book, and have voluntarily written this honest review.
Dottie and her friends go to Dorchester Hall, her Aunts lavish estate for her cousin Gillians 40th bday! Things don’t go as planned when Dottie is tasked with finding her cousins expensive diamond necklace and then solving a murder. I really enjoyed discovering more of Dotties eccentric relatives! This book was a good read. Lots of laughter, action and danger. I really like this book and this series! I can’t wait to see what Dottie is up to next!
A fun series. In this book, we meet a few of the more eccentric members of Dotty’s family, and get a peek at her relationship with her beau Robin as well .
Fabulous puppy Winnie continues as a charming and sometimes very helpful sidekick, and she provides great comic relief and assistance- when she isn’t taking a canine cozy nap.
The death of a family member by marriage reveals some tangled personal connections among the extended family, and staff. Shame on philanderers who are also thieves.
Add in some addictions with alcohol and pain meds, there is a magical concoction that addresses serious issues, has dramatic moments- and some rather funny and touching times.
Looking forward to the next adventures of Winnie, Dotty, family and friends!
Dotty and her two friends are invited to the manor for her Cousin’s birthday celebration. Things don’t go as planned for the celebration. Dotty gets involved in trying to solve a murder. A good plot and a great cast of characters to keep you guessing who the murderer is.
An enjoyable cozy mystery series!
Dotty, Kylie, and Rachel are looking forward to some much-needed R&R as the guests of Dotty’s wealthy relatives. Alas, it is not to be. They soon realize it will not be a peaceful nor a quiet vacation. The trio of BFFs will find themselves caught in the middle of another murder investigation! These girls have the absolute worst luck of being at the wrong place at the wrong time. I won’t give away any spoilers; you’ll just have to read the story to find out what happens. I don’t think you will be disappointed.
I thoroughly enjoy reading the Dotty Drinkwater Mystery Series. I have read all five stories this far. I find the main cast of the three quirky twenty-something BFFs entertaining and yet as different as they can be. They each bring a necessary and intriguing dimension to every story I have read.
I finished reading this book in one afternoon. I recommend Dotty Discovers Diamonds for anyone of any age who loves a good mystery but doesn’t have days to invest in reading a full-length novel.
I received an advance reader’s copy of this book; but this review is my voluntary and honest opinion.
