My voice doesn’t charm forest animals… It predicts death. That’s right—I’m a banshee. And I’m locked up in Nightmare Penitentiary with no hope of escape. I don’t expect to be rescued by handsome fae princes, either, since the last ones I had a crush on put me here. Now, the princes are here to rattle my cage, and they’re just as handsome and judgmental as I remember. I’d tell them exactly what … judgmental as I remember. I’d tell them exactly what I think about them, but in addition to stealing my freedom, they’ve taken my voice.
**Stolen Song is a paranormal prison reverse harem romance.

Imogen is a Banshee. Feared. Despised. Imprisoned. And the three boys she grew up with, that she fell in love with are the ones responsible. Three handsome fae princes had her sent to Nightmare Penitentiary for the murder of their father, the king. She’s been there a year, locked away and unable to speak when they come to visit. Full of anger and judgment the princes are there for answers. Answers that Imogen does not have because her songs announce death, they do not cause it.
Autumn Reed and Ripley Proserpina are two of the most original voices writing today and now they have teamed up to create an enchanting story of a vulnerable banshee, three fae princes, an unknown evil, and a magical mouse. This is a beautiful story set in a mythical fantasy land. Wrongful accusation, imprisonment, heartache, mystery, danger, redemption, forgiveness, and finally, love. Such an emotional read. Imogen tugged on my heartstrings from the opening scene. The pain she felt over others’ judgment, rejection, and her year of isolation just for existing gutted me. Her ability to forgive and love inspired me. Ronan, Killian, and Flynn were all complex, detailed men. Each had a distinct personality and a personal relationship with Imogen. This is difficult to portray with brothers but was executed to perfection. Each brought different elements to the story, guilt, humor, calm. They each brought a shared history with Imogen that added depth to their relationships. The story was layered with assorted side characters that each added additional elements. The suspense grew throughout the story and the feeling that time was running out kept you turning pages as quickly as possible. Overall, this was a well-thought-out, entertaining story.
*WARNING* this book has adult content
This was okay. I liked the idea of a banshee because it’s not used often. The banshee is even a good! The story was very slow burn. The steamy bits were short, which is great, but they were also a bit boring. I felt that Imogen forgave to quickly. These men had her locked up for a crime she didn’t commit in a prison were she was basically tortured, but as soon as she sees them…. “I forgive you”. I realize it’s a book and it has to be quick, but immediately? Once the tournament of kings started, the bad guy was obvious.
No spoilers of any kind included.
I thought Stolen Song was good and I’m going to leave it at that.
But it’s a yes I do recommend this book to anyone searching for a good story to climb into and get completely lost within its pages.
