I cannot recommend this trilogy enough! Miranda Honfleur and Nicolette Andrews seperate are amazing authors and together they are awesome. The Witch of the Lake series pulled me in from the first page of book 1 until the very end of book 3. This duo does an amazing job of weaving a storyline you cannot stop reading as well as being attached to each and every character. I felt as if I were transported into the story feeling everything Brygida and Kaspian were going through. Highly recommend snagging up this you won’t regret it what so ever.
Written by 2 of my favorite authors this story is truly spellbinding. Well written collaboration that has well made characters, folk lore, magic, action, tragedy and love.

Miranda Honfleur has long been among my group of favorite authors, so it’s no surprise that I rushed to get the first book of her Witch of the Lake trilogy. Also really no surprise that the book (separately reviewed) was fabulous, or that the other two books in the trilogy (each book also separately reviewed) were so wonderful that I ended up addictively reading. If you’ve not had the pleasure then you’ve missed something pretty darn wonderful. I (much more than) strongly recommend downloading Witch of the Lake: The Complete Trilogy book set. I’m comfortable you’ll end up being delighted you did so.
Miranda Honfleur and Nicolette Andrews are wonderful writers and this collaborative effort is brilliant. The stories include Feast of the Mother, Fate of the Demon and Fall of the Reaper and they are all so colorfully detailed in description. In many cases the description of the village, country folk and feudal like system remind me of Lain Hearns Across the Nightingale Floor. The stories takes place in a slavic countryside. It’s a mystery, a coming into one’s own power, following your gut and a love story with feelings of young love but also isolation. Such a intriguing combination all woven together it certainly pulls you in. And these are not your everyday sassy academy cute teen witch or your urban hip witch these are the real witches that you find in the myths and lore of old and the tales that villages and travelers wrote about. Theirs are small huts in the sacred wood, with fired burning and herbs and who knows what all hanging from the rafters to dry and beings in touch with the spirits of the wood, the fauna, the lake beings. Witches kept the demons and all things dark from going out of control and when they are not there to help, watch out. These stories reads like old mythic tales with its darkness and cold and wintery woods and its lightness, love and festivities and all the grey areas in between like when the light crosses over into that darkness and what happens. The last book in the series Fall of the Reaper is my favorite because you get to see the characters mature and come into their own. You will not be disappointed in the series, the writing is fun and intriguing and just a wonderful story.
I received a copy of this book for free from the authors in exchange for an honest review
This is an amazing series with lots of action, twists and suspense. You won’t be disappointed with this series.
Witch of the Lake is one of the best trilogies I have ever read!
Feast of the Mother – Book 1
Brygida, a witch isolated her whole life from the outside world, now tasked with being a reaper to serve justice for a heinous crime. Kaspian, a soft soul accused by all of taking the life of his bride-to-be, knows he will face the reaper if found guilty yet has no memory of the crime. Brygida fights for his innocence, while everyone else has deemed him guilty. But is he? Will she save him or reap him afterall? This was an excellent, good old-fashioned whodunit, with a wonderful supernatural flair, set in a world sure to give you gosebumps while you are reading.
Fate of the Demon – Book 2
Wow! Brygida is faced with trials upon trials. She is desparately trying to save the life of another, even while her own life is in peril. Along with Kaspian and Stefan, Brygida sets foot on a quest to slay a demon, but ends up in a very deadly standoff. Decisions must be made and consequences paid by all, including Brygida. Will she survive, pick up the pieces and forage on?
Fall of the Reaper – Book 3
Fall of the Reaper is my favorite book in the Witch of the Lake trilogy. It grabbed me right from the start and never let go. Brygida struggles between two gods, one she is bound to and the other she hopes to redeem herself to. Unfortunely for her, these two gods seem to serve opposing sides, forcing Brygida to make some seriously tough choices along the way. Meanwhile, Kaspian is struggling to rule in his father’s footsteps. To make matters worse, the Cult of Weles has infiltrated Rubin.
It was exciting to witness the personal growth both Kaspian and Brygida experienced. I also enjoyed more development of some of the secondary characters. The storyline is fast-paced and unique, filled with magic, demons, cult-mentality, danger and intrigue. All in all, this was a very satisfying trilogy!
An amazing story of love, betrayal, sacrifice that will hook you and transport you to the unique world of the Witch of the Lake, a world full of slavic mythology and amazing characters. I highly recommend this boxed set!!!
I’ve read and reviewed each book as they came out, so I include here my individual reviews:
Feast of the Mother (Witch of the Lake Book 1)
This book is everything the blurb promises and more. A unique storyline, based on Polish mythology, murder, mystery, romance, all combine to deliver an outstanding book, a real page turner. The world building is excellent, the description so vivid you can feel part of the story, the characters well developed and intriguing. Although the story can be read as a standalone, there are hints of more to come and I can’t wait for the next installment in the series.
Fate of the Demon (Witch of the Lake Book 2)
The book follows Brygida’s story right after the first book’s events and her budding relationship with Kaspian. A lot of trials await her and she embarks on a dangerous journey that may claim her life. Rich in vivid descriptions and slavic folklore, the book is a gripping tale of action, adventure, magic, and romance. Once started, you can’t stop reading.
Fall of the Reaper (Witch of the Lake Book 3)
Everything comes full circle in this last installment of the “Witch of the Lake” series. Brygida and Kaspian fight their respective demons -literally and figuratively- and the distance between them is heart wrenching for both of them. Still, their trials aren’t over. The Dog of Weles is on the move, infiltrating more and more regions, threatening to conquer all and make them submit to the cult of Weles. But who is the Dog of Weles? Why has he saved Czarnobrzeg for last? And what will happen to Brygida and Kaspian?
