Great book …great author
what a great first part of the anna and zoe saga. I look forward to part two and the progress of the relationship between Anna and Zoe. I read in the e-mail that Harper Bliss sent about this book that she went very deep for writing this trilogy and that is so good to read and feel.
The book is about Anna Gunn a woman who is well accustomed to her ways and well-established routine, disruptions aren’t something she welcomes or knows how to deal with. When she met Zoe Perez, the woman who has arrived from the big city with her daughter and reopens the little town’s bookstore that has been Anna’s sanctuary; everything changes. There are challenges and decisions to make. Will Anna let Zoe disrupt her routine and quiet life? Will Zoe be patient enough to know Anna and get past her quirks?
Harper is the master with non-easy topics in the most amazing way, transforming it in something unique and absolutely captivating; and needless to say she excels doing so. This book, in particular, turned out very special for me and I understood why she said was hard to write and hit very close to home. I believe being so personal brought something extra special to the already well written and spectacularly developed story.
Now let’s talks about the characters, both of them are so lovely, so real that is impossible not to like them and not love them. I don’t know how does Harper do that every time, but her characters besides the stories are something delightful and to look for. They are always relatable, whether is with one or both main characters; but their authenticity and warm makes them perfect, no matter how flawed. Zoe is an outgoing woman, a people’s person no doubt, and she has a big, kind heart. And there is Anna; she is not an ordinary person but undoubtedly an extraordinary one. Even when our circumstances are different, I can relate to her a lot; being a nerd and an introvert, we share so many feelings and struggles. So, I could understand completely her exertions. I guess every introvert will feel related to her. It is fascinating how two very different people hold the kind of chemistry they do. Despite being hard for Anna and their interactions at some point awkward, you feel how well they can function together. I can’t wait to see how things will progress with them in the next books.
I love it so much because is the kind of book that resonates and stays with you from the moment you start reading and well after finishing. There’s nothing better than that. It’s hard to express what I’m feeling after reading, but the one thing I am sure about is that I’m thrilled and happy. It’s a book I know I’ll be reading time and time again. If it was a paperback would end up worn out for all the reading. The book left me with a fantastic feeling. I am so ready for the next two books of the trilogy.
