The epic finale of the Becker Brothers series. Each book can be read as a stand-alone.It’s a man’s world. When I declared sports medicine as my major and every man narrowed their eyes, that saying proved true. It was true when my ex-husband decided I’d give up my career when our daughter was born. And again when I divorced the Chief of Police in our small town, and he made it painfully clear that … made it painfully clear that I could leave him, but I would never be free.
Landing the job as the new athletic trainer for Stratford’s high school team is my chance to start over. And walking into a male-dominated sport and staff, I’m ready for the challenge.
I’m not ready for Jordan Becker.
The head coach of our championship winning team is a Herculean force of nature–as severe as he is determined. His icy blue eyes and permanent scowl drive the women in this town mad, and his quiet power and undeniable command conjure respect from every man.
When I join his team, I expect the doubt and anticipate the fight from him. And I get them both.
I don’t expect to form a friendship.
And I never expect to fall for him.
My breath catches when those cool eyes fall to my lips. My body comes alive when his is near. And as those lines begin to blur, every warning bell sounds.
My job, my reputation are on the line.
And my ex is around every corner, waiting to remind me of his power.
It’s a man’s world, and if I want to survive, I can never fall in love with Jordan Becker.
Even if he falls in love with me first.

Since the introduction of Jordan Becker, I have been dying for his story, dying to know more about him. He’s adopted, the oldest of the Becker brothers and the most reserve. This story does not disappoint. From the very first page I was completely hooked and the deeper the story got I was on the edge of my seat. The love Jordan has for his mom and his brothers is amazing, he would do anything for them. The love he has for the football team is inspiring. The way he was with Sydney and Paige was perfect, he was protective of them and supportive of both their dreams. Sydney, I loved her! She is trying to make a name for herself after not working for years and for diving head first as a trainer in a male dominated sport. She’s an inspiration, not only to readers, but to her daughter. She is proof that it doesn’t matter the job or if it’s a so called male dominated industry you can do it.
The unexpected scene stealer of this book? Sydney’s daughter, Paige. Seriously, this nine-year-old girl will steal your heart and have you laughing. She isn’t afraid to play with the boys. She loves football and isn’t afraid to speak her mind, especially to Jordan. I loved that she would provide him coaching tips. She is strong willed, determined and just wants to play football.
The chemistry between Jordan and Sydney was instant. They were drawn to each other. The more time they spent together the more their connection grew. Jordan is supportive and protective. Sydney was a little hesitant when it came to their relationship being fresh from a divorce, among many other things. But when she finally gives in things are explosive between the two of them.
If you’ve been following this story since the beginning you know there is a mystery that has been a common theme among all the books and things come to and end, the answers are revealed and it was not what I expected. There was a portion of this book where my jaw was literally hanging up as the dirty laundry was being aired.
Old Fashioned and the rest of the books in the Becker Brothers series are MUST READ. Yes, they can be read as standalones and in any order, but I would HIGHLY recommend reading them in order to get the full story. Not only is Old Fashioned a MUST READ, but it is also one of my TOP BOOKS of 2020.
But, the fact that the blood that ran through my veins was not the same as that which ran through theirs didn’t matter. My adoption didn’t matter. It never had. We were brothers, an impenetrable force, a team forged in bad times and in good. -Jordan
Dead! Best damn ending to a series I’ve ever read. Kandi kept us on our toes the whole series with the fire mystery. And holy shit the mystery is solved and it blew me away!! The ending couldn’t have been more perfect. Each couple blew me away in different ways. But connected with them on sooooo many levels!
Jordan and Syd all the damn way!! The way Syd goes through so so much. She is probably the strongest woman of the whole series! She went through hell and back and found her peace. Her happiness in someone that needed her in so many ways. Jordan needed Sydney. He needed her to make him feel 100% whole. The way he loves his family is immeasurable to how Sydney and PAIGE make him feel and it is beautiful. What they go through to get to the other side. #priceless
Kandi you slayed me. Thank you so much for the pleasure of getting ARCs of the whole series. It was absolutely amazing. Each Becker took my heart in their own way and I don’t think I’ll EVER get it back. Thank you for being such an inspiration. Ohhh and thank you for my love of whiskey now. I will never look at my glass the same.

The final Becker Brother is finally here and while Jordan has always been the quietest and stoic brother of the four, he is also the best one to finish out the series.
Jordan Becker is a man of few words, but everyone knows that when he does offer them up you listen. As a high school football coach who has won the last two championship seasons, there is a lot of pressure on him to bring home the title again. It’s always a challenge with students graduating and new students coming on the team, but as a coach that is his job, but his greatest challenge this year will be working with the distraction of Sydney Clark, the new female athletic trainer. It’s hard enough wrangling hormonal teenage boys around the beautiful woman, but when he finds himself thinking about her nonstop, he knows she is more than just a distraction, she is someone he wants to know better. He has always been a man of few words, but around Sydney he finds himself opening up like he never has. He wants more with her than he has with anyone else, but the only problem is she wants to keep them a secret.
Sydney Clark is fresh from a nasty divorce and working as an athletic trainer has always been her dream. When things with Jordan get heated, working with Jordan Becker becomes complicated. He isn’t exactly her boss, but he is her superior and not to mention she’s a woman working in a male dominated field, the last thing she wants is to have rumors flying around that she doesn’t deserve her job. As much as she would love to date Jordan in public, there are so many factors for keeping their relationship private. Unfortunately the longer it goes the harder it becomes to actually come clean. Can they really have a future if all they can ever do is hide?
Old Fashioned is a slow burn romance, with lots of good Becker family moments entwined, and the big family mystery finally solved. While this can be read as a standalone, you would probably enjoy Old Fashioned if you’ve read some or all of the other books, but it is not required.
The eldest Becker is Old Fashioned and 100% akeeper. As you know by now, these “boys” are family men. Well, they are men and they believe in their family. They have all fallen for a woman whose strength, stubbornness, and feistiness is their equal their own except for Jordan. Poor Jordan is the lone man left standing…until he’s standing in his office facing the most beautiful woman he has ever seen;who now works for him.
Jordan is about to experience a new first. In all honesty, a lot of new firsts and every one is worth it. This book (and series) is a wonderful love story. A love for family. A love for one’s parents and their relationship. A love for siblings and their new partners. A romantic love (or 4). The Beckers are every bit of awesomeness, sexiness, and fun. They are a family worth adopting, embracing, and enjoying. From their matriarch all the way to the hangers-on, the Becker clan is exactly where you want to be for family dinner and especially on Thanksgiving.
You can try and fall in love with one Becker at a time…but I bet you fail. There’s no way you love one without loving them all.
Oh and, you look Wonderful Tonight. Swoony sigh. A new tradition I think should be implemented everywhere even if you have two left feet.
The Becker Brother’s stories are over and I am not okay!!!! Perfection. This book was utter and complete perfection. I couldn’t imagine a better ending for the Becker Brother’s series. From page one; I couldn’t put this one down. Jordan has always been the brother I wanted to know more about. He always seemed to be more quiet and less in your face than his younger brothers. The man was made for romance, and is so freaking swoony. Not only that, he is fiercely loyal and protective of his family and the relationship he has with his brothers is amazing.
As for Sydney, that girl needed a good man. She is a powerful and strong woman, and watching her reclaim her life was seriously mesmerizing and inspiring. She’s a female in a man’s world and she is thriving! She didn’t take Jordan’s crap and she worked hard to show that she was a great fit for the job she was given. And Paige, good gracious that little girl was hilarious and sassy and I loved every part of the book even more when she was a part of it.
Kandi wrote a beautiful love story for Jordan and Sydney, but she also wrote a beautiful ending for the Becker family. They got what they ultimately deserved and there was no better ‘ending’ for this family. This was my favorite of the Becker series, but ultimately, every single book in this series was amazing and just when I thought I couldn’t love Kandi’s books anymore, she wrote a series like this. Thank you for the gift of the Becker Brother’s; this is a series that will stick with me for a long time.
