Has blind and widowed Lucille Pfiffer finally unraveled the age-old mystery surrounding real estate tycoon Sir Clement Tucker’s murder? And if so, does it come with dire consequences?Lucille and best friend Merlene find themselves in “hot water” after snooping around a neighbor’s house in search of answers. What they discover is totally unexpected. Vanilla, Lucille’s precious Shih-tzu, must see … precious Shih-tzu, must see that they all leave the premises unharmed, but considering her little size, is she strong or skillful enough to accomplish such a task?
If Lucille gets her way, a startling scheme buried deeply within the entrails of Chadsworth’s elite will be exposed – once and for all.
SERIES OVERVIEW: Lucille Pfiffer sees, but not with her eyes. She lives with her beloved dog Vanilla in a cozy neighborhood that is quite “active” due to what occurred in the distant past. Though totally blind, she plays an integral role in helping to solve pressing and puzzling mysteries, one right after the other, which, without her, might remain unsolved.
The question is: How can she do any of that with such a handicap?

Justice is traditionally depicted on Court buildings as a blind female figure, meaning she’s supposed to be unbiased and make her judgements are based solely on the evidence she hears.
With this in mind, Tanya R.Taylor has cleverly made her MC and amateur sleuth, Lucille Pfiffer blind too; but there’s a twist in the tale as readers of the previous two novels in the Lucille Pfiffer Cozy Mystery series will know, as Lucille’s also ostensibly completely blind too. Yet beneath her sweet little old lady exterior lies a secret – she has ‘ ‘inner sight’ given to her by the resident ghost of her neighbour’s grandfather, Sir Clement Tucker.
The previously mute phantom has become like a close friend to Lucille and persuaded her, (in tandem with her verbose pal Merlene Bostwick and faithful, loving Shi Tzu (Va)nilla, to finally uncover the whole truth about who murdered him in his prime.
To find out what happens when the trio gets too close for someone’s liking, you’ll have to get yourself a copy of Blind Justice, by the incredible Tanya R. Taylor.
Villains beware – the truth will out, when Lucille/Blind Justice is on the case!
Fun and great suspense!
Lucille Pfiffer’s resident ghost, Sir Clement, has granted her “sight” which allows her to see with her mind’s eye and compensates for the blindness she has experienced since several years before her beloved husband’s death. Lucille believes she received this blessing to help her solve the mystery of Sir Clement’s murder and works tirelessly to uncover the truth with the help of Merlene, her best friend, and Lucille’s beloved Shit Tzu Vanilla “Nilla.”
When new clues arise surrounding Sir Clement, and his nephew turns up dead, Lucille and Merlene are determined to find out if there is a connection.
This is the third book in the Lucille Pfeiffer Series and they just keep getting better!
I love this series about Lucille Pfiffer and her friend Merlene. I didn’t want to put the ebook down at times because I wanted to know what was going to happen next.
A Spellbinding Murder Mystery
Again, the author continues to write an enjoyable crime story with likable and devious characters, great channels of communication, and expressive settings, which will keep you guessing to the very end. Feisty Lucille Pfiffer is back along with Nilla, her Shih Tzu dog, and prying Marlene, her best friend for over 10 years. This time, the three plan to find out who murdered the wealthy Sir Clement Tucker, putting them in a perilous position. The bickering between Lucille and Marlene can be quite sarcastic and at the same time amusing since Marlene feels the undertaking of this crime-solving scheme could backfire. A trail of entrenched resentment, greed, police cover-ups, betrayal, courtroom drama, and scandal lead to an unexpected revelation, building up to an ending that will leave you gasping, reminding us that the love of money is the root of all evil. I like how Lucille and Marlene are uncompromising women who take no guff from anybody. I am looking forward to seeing more of these two characters.
This book picks right up after Book 2. Lucille and Merlene are still trying to figure out the death of Sir Clement. Will Lucille’s “inner vision” keep holding up for her and with Merlene’s help with the pair solve mysteries, past and present. The book ends in a cliff-hanger. So, we will just have to wait and see what mischief the pair gets in to next.
” What you need will be at your fingertips..[Sir Clement]..said morosely”
This book, the third in the series starts immediately after book 2. In it, Lucille and Merlene-and of course Nilla- work to get justice for Sir Clement Tucker, a man who owned most of Chadsworth at one time, and whose death had been suspicious and considered a cold case but never closed on the Sheriff’s Office books.
Lucille remembered Sir Clement from her growing up in Chadsworth, but had little or no knowledge of the goings on that still were affecting the wealthier members of his family, all of it circling around his death. When Lucille and Merlene come to a solution, their lives are threatened…so, it’s far from over.
In Lucille Pfiffer, Tanya R Taylor has found an amateur sleuth with the brains and a skill or two you’d not see too often. She’s more than a bit snarky, but in the end, resolution is sweeter because of it. I simply want to live in her neighborhood. Highly Recommended 5/5
Blind Justice by Tanya R. Taylor is a cozy mystery with an unusual twist. Yes there are amateur sleuths and an animal – a dog named Vanilla – but Lucille Pfiffer is blind! Lucille has an “inner sight” that can see but not in the same way that other people can see. Oh, Lucille also see a ghost. Sir Clement was murdered last century and he needs Lucille to solve his murder, which is now a “cold case”. Can Lucille and her best friend Merlene solve this murder without becoming victims in the process?
I enjoyed reading this story at I received as an advanced reader copy and I always review every book that I read. The plot and the characters are well developed. This is a story that will keep you guessing to the end and it will put a smile on your face at the different situations that Lucille and Merlene find themselves involved in with each other. I highly recommend this story if you like cozy mysteries with a twist.
