Betrayal always comes from the ones you least expect… was the last thing on his mind. Until fate steps in and a chance encounter changes everything.
Seeing Olivia again, so unexpectedly, at his best friend’s wedding stirs up memories he had long ago put away. She’d been his first love, his kindred spirit… and the woman who left him without saying so much as goodbye.
Which doesn’t make him want her less. He knows it, the moment she locks her deep green eyes on his.
Even knowing it might be too late to repair what’s been once broken, Brian refuses to lose her again and sets out to find a way back to her heart.
But it’s been more than ten years since their story was left unfinished. Will they get one last chance to make things right? Or will Brian learn that sometimes justice comes at too high a price?

Not gonna lie, the story didn’t grab me at first. I wasn’t a huge fan of Brian until I was and then I was glued! I can’t even pin-point the exact moment it happened, but when the story grabbed me, I was so invested I didn’t stop reading for hours!
It’s quite the touching story with just enough conflict to keep it interesting. The secondary characters strengthen the story and added to it’s worth. They enhanced the story and added a flare of humor as well.
All in all I’d say this was a really good second chance to get it right story. Honestly, for me, it would have been phenomenal if I could have been in Olivia’s head as well. There were a few instances that I really wanted to know what was going on in her perspective and I think it would have propelled this story easily to a 5 star read!
This book had a really good storyline that kept me turning the pages. The characters were awesome and the chemistry was amazing.

The story was nicely written and the characters were so wonderfully created that as each page was turned Brian and Olivia pulled me right into their journey as it unfolded!
I’m not sure why but I’m thinking I should have liked this story way more than I did.
Don’t get me wrong I liked it plenty but while reading I kept thinking what am I missing… something was bothering me and I couldn’t put my finger on it.
Their story was filled with (a little bit) drama and problems that kept throwing them apart but as one would expect in a second chance romance trust issues were resolved and they lived HEA. Their love story was 11 years in the making and if anyone deserved a HEA it was these two.

An emotional journey. The story of Olivia and Brian is another example of the brilliance of Ana’s pen. I love her writing style, eloquent vocabulary, and meticulous editing. The characters are very well developed and described, making it possible to understand their personalities and motivations. A chance meeting at a wedding after many years, Brian realises that Olivia, his first love has always been his soulmate and is unwilling to let her disappear from his life a second time. Both Olivia and Brian have been through a lot of negative life experiences since their teenage relationship. The book is quite an emotional rollercoaster, the heroes’ lives, producing curveballs and their response to their insecurities tend to be repeated. Olivia’s habit is to walk away, Brian, on the other hand, is a chronic philanderer. The novel is told entirely from Brian’s perspective which, in itself is interesting. The characters are both passionate and emotional and with Brian’s track record with women, no wonder Olivia is fearful and uncertain. The book is quite long, so get comfortable but well worth reading.

WTSF is more refined compared to the previous edition yet still the same emotional read. I really enjoyed getting reacquainted with Brian and Olivia again. Brian will always have a spot in my heart.
Lies, cheating, abuse, revenge all emotions that have the power to destroy. Power that is not discerning no matter what the circumstances. The need for revenge along with other questionable choices and reactions may end up being his downfall. She runs. Instead of talking, questioning, even thinking is sometimes too much, she runs. This author throws a lot of obstacles in their path as life comes at them from all sides. There’s plenty of steam between these two and life takes them on paths that bring them back to each other and a chance to be more.
This is a new version of the original story and this time the author has brought it all together in one book. The characters are passionate and emotional and their story isn’t easy. He’s fighting for a love that he lost but won’t let go of and she fears confrontation. It’s a battle of wills and circumstances all that bring them full circle.
