Just like any other shifter, Julie always imagined meeting her mate and living happily ever after with the charming male of her dreams. Nothing could have prepared her for the shitstorm that was about to become her love life. With her luck though, shouldn’t she have expected it? Hector has lived his life knowing that he’d become Alpha of Blue Valley one day. Turns out, acting like you always have … always have it together and living it? Well, those are two very different things. He panicked when he first realized that his sister’s best friend was his mate, now he must rise to the occasion in hopes that he can salvage the rest of his life—but no pressure.
Deacon had no idea what fate had in store for him with a new start in Blue Valley, meeting his mate and her ‘plus one’ wasn’t it. These two are so mixed up in the past it seems almost impossible to make things right and move forward. Good thing he’s a professional.

Lion Her Ass Off is the second book in the Blue Valley Shifters series by author Sarah Marsh. I love the connection Ms. Marsh skillfully gives her characters. Makes me want to read more and more. This is my first time reading this particular series, but I was not lost at all. I just cannot wait for more after reading this book.
Julie is a wolf; her parents were more interested in seeing the world than being parents. But she has grown accustomed to her parent’s odd behavior.
What I liked about Julie is her strength. She makes the best of what she is given and thrives despite bad things happening. I like a character I can get behind and cheer for, Julie is that type of character.
Hector he is a college student and part of the local Pride. He is learning to be an Alpha. That is when he finds out that his sister’s friend Julie is his mate.
Hector, I liked him not overly macho and his flaws actually make him more loveable. You can tell he has honor and loyalty along with a lot of love to give.
Deacon he is a wolf. He meets Julie at the diner. He is the glue in this relationship. The bridge between them all they is vitally needed. I liked that he knows who he is and is willing to go for what he wants. He is also reasonable and understanding when he needs to be.
Overall a great story. I liked the fast-paced romance with love and family sprinkled in. I would highly recommend this story to any true romantic I think this is a story you can fall in love with.
Five Shooting Stars
Julie knew at sixteen who her mate was. Unfortunately for her, he didn’t seem that bothered. Now he’s decided it’s time but there’s just one problem… another shifter by the name of Deacon who is not prepared to waste any time claiming his mate!
This is the second book in Blue Valley Shifters series although I haven’t read book one. I would have like to just so I knew Julie a bit better. Still, there is enough of her quirkiness, sassiness and sheer stubbornness in here to please everyone. Hector’s reasons for behaving the way he did are fair enough but I did love it when Heidi put him in his place and gave him something to think about.
This is a well-written novella with enough world-building to keep me happy. The characters are well-developed. With both steam and wit, I have no hesitation in recommending this book.
The second book in Blue Valley Shifters, Lion Her Ass Off, is a romantic, steamy read. Hector, Julie and Deacon are well delivered, and their interaction is engaging. I found myself engrossed in the dynamic story from beginning to end and would recommend you add it to your list.
